  1. Again, why do the Bombers withhold this information so that the fans have to figure it out on their own months later. It speaks of a "we know best" attitude prevalent in football circles and epitomized by Mike Kelly.
  2. It wouldn't surprise me much if he was making a lot more money from the coaching clinics than he's receiving from the Bombers.
  3. All true enough but the Bombers should have had even more cap space to outbid the Ticats if Laurent was a priority. Could be that there were plenty of bids and Laurent just won the Henry Burris lottery. The CFL would be a much more interesting venture to follow if all it's dealings were not clothed in secrecy.
  4. I figured as much when it took Wylie and the Bombers so long to reach a contract agreement. Wylie set the terms and the Bombers agreed to compromise their position in order to associate with his golden touch and reputation. As for his health, at his age and weight he is a ticking time bomb. Do the Bomber's really need another Richard Harris incident mid season to inspire them?
  5. Riddle me this Batman. If there was a Laurent auction going on why weren't the Bombers in on the bidding? Or are there other reasons he chose Hamilton over every other team in the league interested in his services?
  6. Just open it in a new incognito window, your number of read articles number goes back to zero. What do you mean by an incognito window?
  7. Willy must still be playing on Sask. time. Max is used to Wpg. time.....hut..chuck and duck!
  8. I remember when he started on CKND, man I feel old. Me too I remember when you watched CKND on channel 12 and the dial on the TV only went up to 13. And before that watching the "Chiller Thriller" on KCND out of North Dakota.
  9. Very diplomatic answer. O'Shea seems to be learning fast how to talk without saying anything.
  10. Marve's reconstructed knees make me a bit nervous. I don't fully understand the procedure that was done to them but with his history of injury I don't put much stock in him holding up for long. If I was him I'd be looking for a career outside of football, his knees will thank him when he reaches 50..
  11. Haven't heard anything about Woods in a long time but sure hope he sticks with the club.
  12. Yeah they are a sect of the Mennonite faith. If you go to the Steinbach Mennonite museum you'll see the migration maps from Europe to North America. As far as I know there are no Amish people in BC or Manitoba. There's an amish settlement (is that the right word?) between Gladstone & Neepawa. I think you mean Hutterite. Never heard of Amish in MB. but plenty of Hutterite colonies and of course lot's of swingin' Mennonites such as Vic Toews.
  13. Congratulations, this site seems to contain more mature discussion and less cat fighting.
  14. Now that's a workout regime that I can buy into!
  15. I can't even cut and paste in the reply box. Do the moderators know about this problem?
  16. Thought he re-upped with TSN last winter when he was part of the head coaching discussions.
  17. Is it just me or does the quote function no longer work?
  18. I think Etienne will go on to have a solid CFL career but as the above poster mentioned I think he suffered a fairly severe concussion in that Sask. game just as he was starting to find his groove. As for Kelly could well be that Max Hall had better chemistry working with Denmark and Edwards. I don't see any reason to cut the guy at least bring him into TC and let him compete for the position. Can't always blame the receiver if the ball isn't going their way. Look how Denmark transformed himself last year, if the Bombers hadn't shown patience he'd be playing on a rival team now.
  19. I'm afraid the good old CFL has been relegated to 3rd page news in most cities now and the only places it's still front and center is Wpg., Sask. and Edmonton and I'm not all that sure about Edmonton anymore. It would be great if the CFL could put a team in the Maritimes as that population still seems to cherish their Canadian identities.
  20. Looks like Wally will be retrieving Joey Elliot's phone number out of the garbage can....again.
  21. That's insane. Another thing I find insane is Canadians purchasing Budweiser beer when the quality and selection of Canadian beer produced by micro-breweries is fantastic and often cheaper than that over hyped after wash. Brainwashing en masse is alive and well.
  22. Eventually the CFL has to catch on to the fact that they should be generating press year round and not running their business like a summer ice cream stand. At least I hope they will.
  23. HaHa! O'Shea blew the punt coverage!
  24. The apathy in Calgary shows in the stands even with a winning team and a bigger base population in Southern Alberta the Bombers still outdraw them. I think Calgary has caught a bit of the T.O. disease thinking the CFL is a rinky dink league not worthy of their attention. Another factor is that there are so many new people in Calgary drawn by the economic opportunities that they have no historical connection to the city or the Stampeders. The old time Stampeder fans are a loyal bunch but they are old and dwindling.
