of all our National talent..Simonese is the guy I am most excited/intrigued about..I watched a lot of camp..and practice and just watching him you know he is going to be good...if you didn't know who was who you would peg him as an import. The fire is there obviously as he played the teams and worked hard at it, and when thrown two (albeit only 5 or 6 times) he made most of his opportunity... Last year was is getting back to football mindset/shape and his re-introduction to a system and structure as he was basically on the shelf for 2 years...and from what I have heard from some people I have spoken with if not for his PED incident the Bengals would have kept him around as they loved his skillset and the untapped potential...also to consider how many Canadian University/Jumior football kids who play wideout actually get into game action in an NFL training camp...very very few...and invites to those camps pre mini camp don't count as they are basically meaningless.

interesting to find out that medlock has signed in around the 130-135k range...very affordable for what he gives you, and when you consider he does all 3 jobs, where some teams have to employ 2 to do that..even better value as you have most likely have 1 guy making the equivalent, and in many cases less than 2 guys combined on another roster as separate specialists
-
and really he doesn't need to be...especially if we land a stud....but even so if we don't he is still primed for a big year now...He will be a better version of Fantuz in my opinion...which will be a very nice piece to the puzzle
-
having continuity with your management staff...and treating players right goes a long way
-
see...told ya hahah
-
totally agree...and even today on his interview on the radio, when asked with all the un-rest in the west...question marks all over the west that if the Bombers were the favorite or one of to win the cup...and he still couldn't hardly agree to it...what a putz
-
mere formality if that is true...which i think isn't....he is here this coming year...I know that as a 100% certainty
-
yeah....that's totally how it is there...say one thing against the masses there....pretty much a ban or labllled a troll...it is entertaiing though to go there and browse and read all their distorted warped thoughts on things....nice time killer
-
HAHAHA....Oh yes I forgot....but I bet I could do a bang up job...though am rather busy at the moment
-
highly doubt it this late in the off-season...why would we allow our OC to leave now?..maybe for next year, but only an idiot GM would give permission...and understandably so and nobody would say that Walters would be stalling lapo's career....other than most on Ridersfans...wouldn't you agree?...makes no sense...and not like Lapo is working for chump change here either
-
With the issues at home with Trestmans wife's health and what not...I doubt he want to jump right into another stressful coaching position...he probably will take a gig that will re-confirm his status...not one that might further damage it
-
and piss poor SMS management where you basically stripped down your offence of the previous years play makers to pay for assets on defense and create a very unbalanced squad
-
Doubt that Lapo would want to go there with all the uncertainty..at least this year, and I doubt even more that we would allow the Riders to even talk to him at this juncture of the season..with draft coming up...coaching rosters set, and being close to camp...and having to re-install a new coordinator...and especially the fact that the Riders may have slim pickings at best for a QB solution...why would a guy want to drop into that mess mid-stream and basically set himself up for failure?..only an idiot would allow a coach to leave now...and only an idiot who is established with a good gig for 2019 would want that....and only an idiot would give a guy (jones) all the hats he wore with his proven track record of being all for him and leaving organizations the way he has
-
SURE...but the dollar value would go against the cap if they canned them...so no point in that...they will be very limited in their staff for this year...to go along with the limited QB availability for them...and to think...earlier today they were predicting a 3 win season for us next year as an efect of the Bighill signing....now ain't that a funny dose of karma
-
he held 2 positions..and you can only have 11 coaches...so the new guy has to be a HC.DC or they hire from withing and promote someone to HC and have to find a DC
-
cue the whining out there now due to the coaching cap....a cap mind you that all teams have to abide by....but the blues will be cried out there at how they are getting screwed over...perhaps they should be beating down the door of Mosaic and addressing the remaiing management there at the stupidity of handing one guy all the keys to the jallopy...therin lies half the issues there...one guy..accountable to nobody but himself
-
yes..they have very nice facilities for the players...
-
Actually...Edmonton's facilities and training/therapy/players amenities/locker room are top notch world class and actually are better than many NFL teams and rival some of the top notch ones...so that statement is totally false on the Edmonton aspect. Mosaic is sure shinier and newer, but not heads and shoulders above Edmonton...Winnipeg and B.C..Whom also have top notch player amenities..
-
well for sure that connection would easily had a hand in getting him the outside of football gig...but by no means is any of the Altus job salary being part of his CFL salary to cheat the cap..it is above and beyond that....but it is an excellent negotiating angle to use/have in allowing a player to know he has a guaranteed job/income once the season is over if he signs here...same thing with CGY for years having some guys playing on cheap contracts..BLM for one comes to mind...there is no law or rule saying a person can't hold down 2 paying gigs at the same time unrelated to each other...more power to your organization in the CFL if you can achieve that luxury...
-
you're pretty offbase on this one...teams for years have secured off-season and in season jobs for players. It is not "part" of their CFL contract, its above and beyond that and totally unrelated.
-
that's in no way circumventing the cap...it's an off-season job, and smart thing to to include in the presser, as it shows potential free-agents that there is opportunity for off-season and or post career work in Winnipeg as it is a large city with major companies who have work potential...unlike a pisshole in the ground place like Regina where there is apparently zippo
-
wow....I would never have figured for 3....but then again....it's the power of the organization...regime...locker room and Oshea...well done...this is huge moving into February as well as we now know what we have to play with in free agency for the likes of JSK..possibly a DB and a receiver
-
Lucky for you guys....lol
-
YEAH that is kinda funny...from what I know/hear..players can't get out of there fast enough when the season is over...or during a by week. I actually think Winnipeg probably has to, or is close to be the city with the most post/carer players who stick around..American and Canadian...or it sure appears that way
-
some will I think....with a caveat written in their contract that what ever percent the CBA increases...so shall their deal to a certain degree...
