  1. No ill will there...he was able to work and make more money doing whatever it was back home as opposed to PR spot..with 3 guys ahead of him and no chance save for injuries..I hope he is back..One of guys who stood out to me at camp as a new comer along with Stove, Bailey and Walker...I have no doubt that if we didn't have Willie..Or Jeffcoat he would have been in our rotation in Roh's role until Kongbo stepped up
  2. I agree..this off season is not nearly as daunting..desperate..stressful.. full of question.. sure we have and may lose a piece or two..but lots still in place..others also in house and this place has become a preferred destination And we are grey cup champs...and next year reigning champs..cant complain
  3. Woli's lack of use may have persuaded him to look elsewhere as well next yr....maybe this loss of Lapo may swing in a positive light for certain free agents
  4. Well Roh will be an easy re-sign..and is damn good...also If Mcallister isn't on an XFL team I could see him back lickity split next year if we loose Jefferson..Jeffcoat..Roh..McCallister with Hansen spelling ain't the end of the world...plus Willie money could be used for somethng else in Free gency
  5. Wake was also just turning 26..Willie will be 29...those 3 years in NFL eyes are big...also he has no PR eligibility left, and would not be making NFL minimum..so SMS..age..Politics of NFL are all against him, but as an athlete he no doubt belongs down there
  6. That too...people have to remember that these guys if/when they try out are not getting paid..so if they down there a long time in camp..then get cut..they are out the possible money in those 2 months thast they would have been making in the CFL...And guys with a family..Like Willie are not to keen on doing that unless a team forks out a nice signing bonus upfront..and now with caps on Free-Agent and Draftee bonuses allowed...it's highly unlikely
  7. Jefferson is behind the 8-ball though...age and no PR time left..so he has to be on the roster on game day, or it's nothing...plus being booted for off-field issues last time won't help his case
  8. That's how we structured ratio...ALL yr
  9. And should be mentioned..losing Lapo should be..and is probably one of the least impactful issues we need to adress/face this off season We can still run the same offence if we want..its property of the Bombers..not Lapo..and we will most likely run a variation of it as our base..with new tweaks and influences..and change terminology but with basically all our offensive starters being back pretty much..there will be minimal issues
  10. Strev wont follow lap..you can take that to the bank And as mentioned.. Pierce is not a rookie..or inexperienced.. he is/was heavily involved in game plan creation as well as a lot of what we did on offence..like mentioned he just didnt coach QB's It was Lapos base basic offence..which we seen when Peirce played in it..and coached within it..but there are things within it that are Peierce influenced. Lapo over the years has really stagnated QB's and not allowed them to really reach full potential..played a safe conservative game that got him...one Cup over course of his career..Buck will most likely allow his guys to be more aggressive and attack things moreso than Lapo did..and therein is where any QB in our system moving forward will develop more
  11. Buck has been heavily involved in the game plan creation the last few years..along with play creation..he will be fine and who's to say a lot of what we did wasnt devised by him.. Creating and running an offense isnt difficult and all teams basically run the same basic stuff with variations and subtle differences..and things keyed to players on roster.
  12. Lapo cant just take people..we have to agree to let em talk..and doubt we would..and why would buck leave here..where he is entrenched.. in a good squad too, to somewhere across the country for same position..and a poorer team..never happen
  13. Buck is more of a gunslinger..go at em type guy..and with a Strev in his stable he will surely progress now. As for other comments on Strev..he has already progressed and like mentioned in Grey Cup he made some throws he wouldn't have before..and its his progress made in pocket and with throwing.. mainly due to his platform..he has one now. Out of draft one of his knocks was he had next to no platform and it hampered him in some of his throws. He was considered really good in his mid to intermediate range stuff and consistantly put ball in a receivers catch radius and was able to throw guys open..but his deep shots needed work because he was not set..his platform..his only real knock.. that and experience which he is getting When I was in CAli at that development camp talked with the QB coaches and we watched this and last season footage..along with his College film as we get access to it and you can see the development..and they also commented he is in a system not suited to him..and would stunt him..and I pretty sure Buck knows and sees that..but we were what we were and changes weren't being made last year Lapos departure is the best thing for all our QBs and if Matt is back next yr..u will see a difference in him too
  14. Means nothing..he's sporting his bomber gear on instagram...and he is saying he is in the offseason..if he was hanging em up it wouldn't be off season And I doubt we wouldn't re-sign him..
  15. Yeah Franklin was signed to that as the heir apparent starter..first year main guy money..Strev I would think should be in the 200k range
  16. True..but thing is in a more conventional offense based around his running ability, not focusing on it as the main component he would do great..and take less hits. I see him as being a Tracy Ham type..but a bit more aggressive runner if he takes off. His running would be way more effective when it was sporadically called..or came from moving pocket..changing launch points and roll and sprint outs..if first or second read isnt immediately there he vamooses or extends the play for someone to come back to ball or break off down field Once that chemistry is created and he is in same head space with receivers when they see the scramble.. big plays are coming as the defense will have to respect the run and drop coverage..or stay in coverage and Strev will be in the second level in a heart beat
  17. Well Hall evolved his system to match his talent..Lapo best be doing that too..If he's this mad scientist as many claim he should have no problem with it
  18. Simoni is a punk..if you caught it on the cfl wired he grabbed Darvins towel and tossed it and Darvin gave him a little shove and he acted like he got cold cocked and flailed away hoping for a call..which he never got..maybe if he concentrated on being a leader and played some ball they may have not got manhandled..ol Darvin was under the skin of several Cats and had them right off their game..
  19. He's only been what he is told to do..and game planned for..he cant fo rogue and do his own thing or his ass would be firmly planted on bench..or PR If put in an offence to augment what he can do with his legs and the conundrums he could cause defenses with his running threat he'd be lights out..Lapo hasnt done that here He is a passer if allowed to..and with more reps and plays doing so..would get better and better..He threw for over 6000 yards and I believe 50 some odd TD's...4100 of it in his senior season..a QB coming out of college with the label attached to them as a runner dont do that..they pass for 2000..2800 yards a year..Much like Fajardo was labelled a runner..was only used as that but for a chance..ans grew into it..that's after 4 years of college as a QB and his 4th year in cfl..Strev has had 2 years of college experience and 2 years here and from what he has accomplished so far being so raw is pretty amazing..given another year or so of grooming by the time he hits 26 he's gonna be a top dawg..and u can quote me on that now..
  20. Well giants try out anyone and everyone..I'm sure I could get one too hahah Yeah a workout is one thing..or a minute camp but good majority of time your just a body..at his size..he will have to be something exceptional..NFL is too drawn to and hooked on measurables and body type..as well as politics in regards to draft..etc..wish him well but I'd be shocked if he stuck. And that's our gain as I cant see him not back here if it doesnt pan out in NFL
  21. Yeah I was pumped when we signed him..and doubt he gets any NFL interest as they will view him as too slight
  22. WELL hopefully it just a formality and matter of time until he is re-upped..a player wanting to truly be here and miss his guys goes a long way..With Jones..Alexander..Maston already in the fold..getting him and Sayles locked in would be huge..and even though he struggled in his last few starts there is huge upside with Rios
  23. bears a striking resemblance to him actually hahaha
  24. If I was Miller I would make sure that would happen... and moot point anyway as they won't be taking the cross over if thats the route they took anyway...and they won't be coming out of the West either...they've had horse shoes up their green hynies for 2 years now...doubt it happens again...their 25-11 record the last 2 years is the weakest and least rounded team of that record I can think of in decades
  25. That experiment had to come from Dickenson, and seeing/asking if they could mimic that...If it didn't and Macadoo did it on his own and Dickenson just let it happen..then he should be canned for that too..Can't have inmates running the asylum..and at times he seemed to not have a very good grasp in control on his sidelines and a lot of the pre/post game BS his players tried to instigate...not a good leader or sign of one if you ask me...I can see him getting the pins put to him next season if things don't go well there..and loses control of things...not to mention Psycho Nut Dumbo losing his **** on the sidelines which I am sure will happen...
