and really??...who friggin cares...you need to let go of the "stats" aspect and let it sink in through your water mellon noodle that football is the ultimate team game and 9 times out of 10 wins are predicated on all facets working...is it our fault we have had dominant 0-line play the last 3 years and our run game was superior to all and we used it to pound out wins as opposed to wing and a prayer passing? Why would we go away from a ball control offence...wearing teams down...controlling the clock all the while the last several seasons leading the league in scoring to basically fatten our passing stats and taking more risks with the ball..and any football person worth a salt will tell you that less risk happens with a strong pounding ground game and when the frost is on the pumkin...your run game wins the tough games for you. Sadly you will see when your old running back (just like ours) is worn down from the beats he is getting running behind your craptacular o-line with zero depth

who cares how many yards we lay on him...thats silly and pointless....if we lay on 3 td's passing and 1 or 2 on the ground, and win handily..whats the difference and point?...and really..Fajardo?....enjoy the couple blips of greatness now as it won't last...career back-ups/plugs are that for a reason It's funny how the majority of rider "fans" hated that signing and were not too happy with it, but since he pulled a Troy Kopp /Joey Elliott and now he is top teir awsome I'll take Nichols career high 30's wins and smart QB play for ow well before a career 1 win guy who for all intents and purposes has proven jack shat...lets see 2-3 years of that..heck even this full season before you anoint him a legit number 1

gonna roll with A.Harris

I liked casher too...victim of havin opo here at the time
-
no they don't...why even say things like that?

If BC can establish a run game...which they finally seem to be doing, then they will start to win..i truly see BC and Sask battling for 4th, even with average QB play I don't see Sask defense carrying them to wins this year...highly overated based on previous reputation with C. Jones pulling the strings..Lost to ham who had an off game...got lit up by Dom Davis....the Argo game doesn't count for anything cause they are gawd awful...lets see what they do against Cgy and back to back vs BC then the Hammer again...I bet they are looking up at a 1-6 record after that
-
Edm..CGY..and WPG right now are all better teams...roster wise and are/will be getting better...BC and Sask will be fighting it out for 4th and 5th and never bet against Reilly over the course of 18 games...they showed improvement already and in my opinion tose 2 teams will go as far as their QB takes them, and smart money is on Reilly over Fajardo/Collaros...
-
Hey after the rain delay t was a 7-7 tie after the Argo's decided to put forth a bit of effort and fight...and no...it wasn't that the Riders took foot off the gas so don't even go there....and all the talk about a record breaking pace in reference to Dunnigans's game was funny as well... This was basically a game between 2 of the leagues 3 weak sisters, and the less pathetic of one of them beat up the most pathetic one..Sask got a gift start to the season with 3 eastern games, and are at 1-2...and now have a nice mouthfull of CGY/BC/BC and Ham coming up...if they are any better than 2-5 after that i'd be utterly shocked...B.C is getting their crap together so won't be a cake walk for them
-
well can't wait to hear their narrative when things go back to normal for him and he is not moving offence...scoring points and making errors...maybe they will say "obviously Fajardo took advantage of the leagues weaker sister's and now he is showing why he has never taken the next step as a bonafide starter"..but I bet that never gets discussed...Suitor will just wipe the spooge from his face and blabber on about something else in defense
-
Fajardo will come to earth in short time..his deep ball is horrendous and teams will adjust when the film is out now that his ball hags there and 9 times out of 10 the receiver has to either stop his route, or come back to it..he will be an interception machine in short order, You get a few games of film worth on a guy who finally gets to start and you see his tendencies..weaknesss'..strengths..up till now teams had nadda on him...he's a career back-up for a reason...and it will be apparent when they roll in here on Bnajo Bowl most likely sitting at 2-7 at best
-
man i sure hate listening to Suitor yammer on endlessly about stuff and goo all over the Riders....the way he was yapping about Fajardo was pathetically sad and yet funny...throwing around all these analogies and attributes he has that are elite....basic QB skills that a QB should have regardless, yet he is blabbering on to the point where he seems like he wants to say he is the best in the league , and MOP worthy...he put up some numbers against 2 shitacular defenses, whoopty do...lets see what he can sustain, and a horrible deep ball...most are hanging up there and the receiver has to come back or stop to get it...catching DB's off guard right now, but now we have seen it over a couple games teams are going to key on this and welcome to pick city...just you wait and see...they will play receivers a bit more loosely to get these lame ducks Also some of his comments in defense of players who mess up, after he blows skittles up their ass to try and make it seem like it was a scheme thing is laughable as well....I'd rather listen to Rod Black and is out right ignorance to a lot of things football than listen to Suitor who talks like he is a wise old sage and a CFL "Expert" when in reality he is just a idiot ...especially during a Rider game...he shouldn't be allowed to do their games as it makes the experience un-enjoyable at best
-
There is a reason Fajardo has been a career back up till now..he's not that good and a good game against Ott and so far tonight against whatever it is the argos are is hardly validation..just wait till teams settle in and he plays edm..wpg..cgy(next week) Hamilton.. heck even Ottawa again..you will see his play get back to what it's been..
-
How is a game a sellout when seats still for sale pre game..by thousands and good majority of upper deck sections were empty? T.o is bad..real bad but on flip side will give a false sense of feeling good to Riders. Who really are not that good either..and for a winless no depth team..they sure act like fools when they make a play..and lot of times just your run of mill play to boot.
-
We were lucky to win because of lucky?? Last I checked he was a team member on the Bombers..no? And if he disnt score the second td on the 41 yard play..who says that means we weren't gonna score? The first td was a perfect deep shot. Second was out fast and on target..is it Nichols fault Lucky took it to the house and negated any additional completions and yards he may have gotten to fatten his stats? The TD to Harris too..perfectly executed play and toss..again..I guess that doesnt count either I guess...this argument is getting real dumb considering the winning percentage of team behind Nichols.. and sure not all wins on a QBs stat line should be totally a result of him..and same can be said about losses...and right now if out QB is giving us a chance to win while not playing reckless and doing things to constantly result in losses..then what's the argument?? Shuddop already
-
Thing is tho..he will be 28..29 when he can try again..and dont believe he has PR eligibility as well would be above minimum wage too..so his window most likely is effectively closed...unless he puts up some insane crazy stats up here and in that event it's good for us. He may garner top end WR up here..be happy with that and being a mega star big fish in small pond and just stay...he seems legit happy and enjoying football again
-
I see it as a team game and wins are a culmitave result of what is working for the team in each game to win. Nichols and others on offence are being toned down to so what's needed to win..and nothing more..nothing fancy or gaudy stats wise as that's what they are being told to do..more or less. Recal 3 yrs ago..Nichols was putting up fancy stats..good yardage and consistant 30+ points games..and we lost a lot..and he played more wide open cause we had to.. If your winning..and utilizing your great run game..and tough defense then why risk turnovers and the chance to let a team get back in the game just to fatten the stats line and appease fans and critics?? And people can go back to the last playoff game and say yeah but hey..we didnt produce points when it mattered..well playoff ball is a different beast..weather has effect and a lot of that blame has to go on Lapo..for all his good traits he needs to grow a pair and not coordinate like a Nancy Boy and "hope" to not make any errors..that's wherein lies the issue.. and regardless right now..we are winning..the formula is working and as the season progresses our defense is gonna get better and allow us to win more often than not most games where we put up 23..25 points..so why play stupid?

I hated and know many a player who hated, and under performed in a rotation...and in my opinion it's not worth the time or effort to continually do it over and over..and over...Guys aren't that gassed or need that many breaks and if/when they do...well then like back in the day you let coaches know u need to sub out...I truly don't get all that rotation...pretty hard for a unit to get in a groove when they are in and out. You play your starting 4 guys 80..85 percent of snaps if you ask me.. O-lineman aren't rotated constantly in a game..over and over and over...and if they were your run game would blow and QB wouldn't know wtf was going on or get in any rhythm as well...and O-line is way more taxing than d-line over the course of a drive..so this nonesense they need to do it to keep guys fresh etc..etc...etc...is a load of crap if you ask me...and if guys are getting bagged out playing 3-4 snaps in a row then don't roster them...cause thats a pathetic pro athlete
-
YEAH there are some things he needs to maybe get better at, and maybe at times show some bravado and take control of a game and go off and show he can be a difference maker...if he has to That being said he doesn't seem to have to in this offence...he plays in a way where he gives us a chance to win and score points, and doesn't...or rarely make, or force stupid plays or chances to hinder us winning...and I am totally cool with that Also is it his fault our run game is so successful and a big reason we win, and our offence revolves around it?..no it's not, but history shows most successful teams are predicated on a strong ground game and strong defense, and can win with Nichols like QB'ing Heck our team history alone proves that and our last 2-3 cups were won with game manager QB's basically, and one (Salsbury) who for a lack of a better term...sucked
-
I watched Exume on all the coverage plays and he is good...he may not got the stats, but he was being watched...and he help his lanes and forced returners into the teeth of the coverage...mission accomplished on teams and whats supposed to happen
-
BUT...now they have some nice coin set aside for NFL cuts by Lofflers being off the books...That cagey ol rascal Kavis....he snookered everyone
-
generally on a reception if you don't secure the ball after the first initially contact it's an incomplete...especially when the receiver has not secured it and commenced advancement....if he had maybe secured and took a step they "could" have ruled it a fumble but that one was obvious
-
I as well as others had zero concern in FA when we lost JSK...and my belief we would be even better as I seen Wilson as a more athletic player...which he has showed already..and he will get better...I also think once he gets more established and comfortable he is actually gonna make Biggie even more successful...now whoda thunk that eh? He (Wilson) already has 9 defensive tackles for the season and that is after missing last part of game one..so obviously has shown a knack for making plays
-
yup...this game is totally gonna help us morph into a more explosive group...bona fide threat now with at least 3 receivers, plus the Harris factor Other thing of note...Kyrie Wilson in no way shape or form is going to have us miss JSK...He is a baller..always around the ball and scary thought..is gonna get better...guy is solid as solid can be
-
this game was probably an eye opener now for many DC's...Lucky has established himself as a serious threat and will have to have attention payed to him and defeses converge on him as if he gets the smallest if openings..he could be gone...this is going to really open up things for others (especially Adams and Matthews) and we are going to be able to stretch more now with one on ones, and run more deeper layered routes...
