  1. Winnipeg guy...lives here yr round...he'll be back and it will be an affordable contract not hindering other signings...Prob already has one..just not announced
  2. yup....a true brotherhood...oops no that the Bombers...I mean a true Mefirst culture...and BA is way more versatile, and better...he excells at any position...Purifoy...is just adequate....and obviously isn't team first...who tweets that??!/
  3. basically...I dont wanna be here (SSK) So....u gonna have to overpay hahaah
  4. yeah...I didnt expect anything below 195k to be honest...that 40k extra to play with will be huge for re-upping vets who need a bit of a bump...say all toward Stove....or split between say Rose and BA...
  5. couldn't agree more...whoever we want back from last year (save for NFL defections) we will get
  6. Also...looking at some of the bargains we have gotten...looks like there is a team effort to take whats fair, and keep the band together...looking out for their brothers, cause even WJ's 225k is below what he coulda got elsewhere easily, and same with Jeffcoats 175k...thats a right steal!! I expect Harris as well to come back in I bet the 175k range at top end...maybe with a games played incentive, he and everyone in league knows he is not a 200k guy like he was getting...he wont go anywhere else for a few sheckles more if he wants to keep playing...and from all accounts I have heard he's playing
  7. We will be ok signing back who we want/need most ..you have to remember save for Stove abc Sheed the remaining guys are not getting bumps to entry deal contracts...that's huge. And Willie didn't break the bank ..Biggie and Jeffcoat are utter steals and Zack being under 600k Is a big win. We weren't at ceiling capwise last year and pieces all fit ..so spend closer to that ceiling this yr to accommodate the bumps...and it appears based on a few deals already that guys are wanting to stick around here for what they think is fair..good for them...good for the team...and helps enable others to stay here..true team mentality and brotherhood going on here...u can tell they wanna run at 3peat with this group
  8. The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced they've signed OL Na'Ty Rodgers, who started some games for the #Redblacks last season. #CFL lol....Thats inspiring
  9. well duhhh...and what team doesn't?...where we have the edge, our resigns are top notch...a lot of teams need to upgrade, and that will cost them...resigning guys who are at their ceiling, or on downtrend and couldn't get it done for you last year, isn't a plan for success (looking at you Riders) Also...I bet if we chased a hot commodity in free agency, had some of the boys talk to him, we could sign em for a bit less to be part of this here, and be pretty much garuanteed top end of the playoff money...I not worried one bit about 2022 roster....and now have ultra faith in our scouting and player network....and what newbie wouldn't wanna consider coming to a back to back champ with it's core intact??
  10. Lapo isnt a good QB developer...that can't be denied...he will thrive with an established QB to run his style of offence....He also tho stagnates receivers, and is probabaly the worst O/C coach to have to develop a new guy, and get the most out of him....we missed out on some decent guys actually coming here soley based on him being the OC...You can believe or doubt it if you want, but it is not assumption Strev...totally not a pocket passer...never was...but used right, with threat of run and the who's gonna get the ball, with the right OC calling plays, he can exploit teams with downfield passes not needing pin point accuracy, and accuracy can be learned, worked on, and made better....strength...velocity at a pro level is basically an is what it is thing...so he can probably be made into a very effective starter, not a prolific passer by any means, but win a lot of games....Tom Burgess sucked throwing the ball....but won a cup here....with a wicked defense...which is what we have here. To expect him to be a highest rated passer isnt his schtick, and doesnt mean he can't/won't win and from what I know of him he not all about the money...he wants to be a part of a team...contribute...and win....he knows the recipe and routine here...if he heads north...all sides will make it work here...book it
  11. Not sure why u can just say Stevy is a gimmick guy...that's basically how he was used by Lapo....and never let him do much else.....he wasn't a gimmick guyy in college, and in his first year here as well, was ok passing for a raw rookie to the league...guy has a good arm, can move, and if allowed to pass, and run will be just fine....2 yrs in the NFL, I am quite certain he has worked on a thing or two. If we were to tie our wagon to him, because ZC bolted, I would be fine with that...especially if we even have close to what we had on defense... he is a thrower pretty much how Phillip Rivers was/is...he did ok.....and what I like about Strev is no windup and easily can make a throw in full gallop...and is less likely to have shoulder issues...seen a ton of guys with his motion...and never were an issue
  12. Rider's sign one of our scrap heaped O-lineman...NaTay Rogers.....maybe hoping to pull a reverse Hardrick...lol....mind u..he is probably better than any of the lineman they had last year, so they just improved
  13. well he is a Canadian....so a reason for that higher price tho I think he's over priced....Bryant will take what he considers is fair, and not a noose around the teams neck...like he always does...Couture...he is going on his 3rd deal now...so wasnt making peanuts to start with....so not sure where he slots in $$ wise
  14. Boateng would thrive here rotating in with the Jeff's ala Kongbo
  15. Wasn't he paid in the top range of WR last year? I can't see him getting a bump of any significant money...also looked horrible last yr...and the attitude is a huge red flag for me...and the age Duke will want top dollar...and combined with the Faj joke...and PED Leonard's 200k+...and i sure Shaqs higher salary not enough there to rebuild an online ..especially when I need some quality dlineman...and linebackers as well...nobody signing there for discounts like in wpg...we got Jeffcoat at 30k less than PED Leonard ...that in itself is funny as Jefffcoat is more of a difference maker..and just flat out better
  16. Neuf was in Hawaii too when he was announced as resigned...thins may be already basically ironed out, and they are just seeing how the other pieces come together in possibly sprucing up his deal a bit more.....I also have no concerns of Couture not being back...Bryant u may as well pencil in at LT too As far as Collaros, not sure how to take that article, and whether to even believe it...Th Qb market in CFL is no longer a 700k and up range....not even 600k and up.....and all parties involved know that. If at worst he wants top dollar, then he will get prob 525..550....to eclipse what Faj makes...which is still completely laughable.
  17. Have to agree...I played..coached and helped develop players both sides of the border and that idea of lack of development is silly...it's never been an issue...ever before...so why now? The bigger difference and reason for is the facilities...training.. football specific training facilities...coaching...etc down south that makes the difference. If Canada put into ykuth and minor football as well as the high powered highschool system what the U S did you would see development right on par and in a lot of cases better. I've worked with Canadian kids in the u s at recruitment ready development camps and the ones who played u s post secondary..as opposed to Canadian is night and day..and that's due to the poor exposure u get in Canada to trainjng...coaches...and position specific camps
  18. they have a fast lane?!?!...lol
  19. solid signing....unsung guys make your team
  20. Zack is...and knows he's a successful product of the environment he was in here, and has been kept clean, and safe, and is in the right "team" first environment...and I don't see him holding us over a barrel, and do the opposite of what guys like Willie..Biggie did in a team first move to help keep pieces in place to get to the end prize...If he made 41ok last year, and we come at him with a 475/485k salary, thats fair, and will be in line with other top end starters, save for Fajardo and everyone and their dog in and around the league see that as a sick joke...I see us getting him for 500k tops...likely just under That being said, I also see Bryant back at what he was last year, and Harris will come in at less too...all easily managed for this coming year, and If Adams is back, He probably coming in at the same as last yr too at the most...likely a slight shave as he isn't defacto #1 anymore, so won't command that. As many as we have to retain, a lot were already at top end of the pay scale and won't be requiring big bumps, and some who may be back are on the downside now of career, and are not focal points, so will be at a discount. Guys who are due a significant bump are Kenny, Stove, Desjarlais (if he doesnt sign) Kongbo (whom may be back sooner than later as he is a futures deal) and lesser extent Darby and Rose...I don't include Bryant cause he will be the same hit basically, and he always waits till we re-up key guys first as he is all about team, then sees what kind of lil extra kick he can get once Biggie and BA are wrapped up.
  21. yup...possibly...and hampers his cup hopes out there haha
  22. ahhh...I thought he was on a 1 yr....scratch him...but wasnt a need anyway....we have several inhouse who could/should be back..I know team is high on Houston...lives here still too I think
