  1. which makes our roster config even more madening....as looking around I cant see where either of them would be rostered on any other team, and if they were, would be a case of standing on sidelines all game....as emergency only...for as goos=d as we have been, we could be truly dominant
  2. the recycle bin.... if teams were smart....they would not recycle....develop a guy...put all yur effort into that, and offer a mentor positin as the back up, at a reasonable price.....if thats all they have ab=vailable to them, and still want to play, then they will accept it
  3. we lie to say how clueless Dicklesson is in Regina...and rightfully so, but at least he has the sense to have 8 rotational lineman...pretty much like most teams do, and uses the Nationalized American on both sides of the ball....Leaps and bounds ahead of what we do in that regard Good thing their oline is crap...QB's are blehh....secondary is suspect and their receiving corp really scars nobody....no reason we should lose this game....and a win by less than 10 would be shocking...and in a not good way
  4. they put him out there for a few reps here and there...usually when game is in hand...and he's...well...to be frank...not good....slow off snap...poor snap anticipation and a lot of times just flat footed as Olineman are already out of stance and setting up
  5. and for what the role entails....any able bodied guy who likes to be physical can do it...that's the rub...It's not like Jackson brings anything special or above and beyond anyone else....It's just Osh likes his story and is all gaga over him....nothing more...nothing less...Burtenshaw played full back all of his college career....certainly he can fill the role as well or better....especially with Canadian Football experience
  6. not to keep griping....but we have to burn a DA on a kicker...which is good value when it the likes of Castillo...and before when Medlock But 2 DA's wasted on basically a very pedestrian PR, who takes minimal reps on offence, and at that are hardly difference making, and on an American fullback (when we roster a Canadian one) who is average at that role, as well as average at best on ST (1 tackle) is a shame....Combined they will likely have about 15 to 20 non-eventful reps, where we could have 2 guys dressed on defence who would have impactful reps, and make the defense quite likely dominant...Especially with Parker on now, Mcrae is just a waste when we run the ball with Brady...Sheed...Demski anyway...why take reps away from them with a few token Mcrae runs...makes zero sense odd....didnt get hurt in last game...practiced just fin all week...I guess he agreed to that, and gets fll pay off the books....team guy move if that the case, and good depth if someone goes down in those 6 games
  7. well...thats a start....hopefully Parker gets looks at PR even tho Mcrae listed...maybe a smoke screen by Osh? Too bad Burtenshaw is only real depth piece that we could use in place of Gauthier...sad we have to replace an impact guy, and one who takes reps on defence with a guy who can't, and will only play ST reps, cause we have a sad PR And when losing a defensive piece...to not replace Jackson with say Garbutt....Fox....Or even Clements or Haba..(.who both could have played and from what I have seen in practice last several weeks could easily have rostered....are more than ready to take live reps) seems like logical move...but.....logic here seems to be amiss
  8. I see CGY sticking with Maier to be honest...vause really...who out there available is better?....and he still could have upside....he has shown he can be more than a short passing game manager Powell in Hamilton to me looks like the QB of all the other 2nd and 3rd stringers who actually may have some potential...this next leg of the season will be very telling, but I could see them going with a Shiltz/Powell combo....with Moxely as the short yardage guy Adams I am sure is the defacto BC guy until or if Rourke ever comes back, but that being said....is he going to take the money and go with highest bidder?...I think so, and hey maybe he becomes Zach's replacement if he hangs em up after 2025 Pretty sure the Faj is safe as long as Maas is there, and can see a 1a/1b with him and Evans, so doubt they in the QB market next yr. Also think Edm will do what it takes to make Ford the guy now, especially if he keeps progressing, which I think he should, and they tied into Heavy Balls for guarantied money, and they in no position to eat salaries there, so best guess status quo there too.... The scraps are going to be fought over by Ottawa and Sask....and scraps they are....Harris likely gets a shot in one of those places, and hope it Sask as he is pretty much average at best and won't lead you to the promised lnd, and Fine I don't think has the ability's to be legit, and Dolegala even less...and bet we see an ugly performance by him tomorrow. So does Brown hit a payday?...possibly, but I don't see him being uber successful in either of those places, and I am still not sold on him here either as a legit option long-term if something was to happen...I think he is the benefactor of the system and familiarity he has here for 3 yrs now...and it won't translate elsewhere....and even then something about his pay at times makes me very uneasy.... yeah Bo's throws just hang there and look like soft tosses....there is a reason why he has thrown double digit picks in his last what..18...20 games...he has no steam on any throws now
  9. Funny part...I bet as soon as his rookie deal there is up he bolts out east to Montreal
  10. Jones is just a run of the mill average American who comes up with a play here or there, but for games you don't even know is dressed....Not sure what the Jones love is...he also comes up with some brain dead moments as well, from time to time....and isn't the grit and glue guy Bailey is, or anywhere near the blocker.....poor mans version maybe but thats it. Bane offers nothing in your run or blocking game as well...totally different type of receiver....he showing well right now, but lets see 2..3 yrs of it....he is making hay right now with the lions share of targets in that offence...Emilus as well has shown some flashes...2 stand out games...the rest kind of...is he dressed?....also....did squat last yr, and is this yr what he is...or just one of those hot cold guys?...lets see him put strings of games together, and for more than part of a season Calgary as well made a substantial offer for Bailey in free agency that I know of, and from what I hear there were 4 offers outside of ours. He was a 4th option for most part last year, and targeted like 15 times in first 5 games last yr, yet puled in 9TD's and 726 yards I believe. At the same time making room for others to have fat stats, and allow running backs to make hay Even in 2021 he had over 600 yards and 5 td's as a 3rd..4th option in 14 games if he was anywhere else, he would surely be a 1000 yard guy, and still doing the dirty work he does so well
  11. I think Cole stays as he is, as he is a bit of a different player than Clements, and has been used differently in the defense.....Wilson is effectively replacing Clements who was just keeping his seat warm anyway, but is a nice depth piece to have now in case of injury to any of our starters Hansen for Mauro is a no-brainer, as they are trying to use Mauro as they did Hansen somewhat, but Hansen offers so much more off the edge, and they have used him in the inside as well with varying fronts....Mauro's other roles on defense can easily be absorbed by Cole...who is better at it anyway, and again Mauro makes for nice depth in case of injury. The big question I want to see answered, or addressed is when Haba is ready, which should be for BB....Will we put him back in place of the guy who replaced him on roster...Jackson....because if he isn't swapped back in thats just a shame, and utterly foolish and flat out dumb. If for anything he was a force when he played, and secondly gives the Jeff's the valuable rest, and limit's wearing them down right to a nub come late season and or the injury risk If we could have a solid rotation of Hansen/Haba with the Jeff's and the Walker/Lawson/Thomas trio in the middle we would so much better. Mix that in with Rose and Wilson looking like 2019-2021 versions of themselves, this defence will be mighty tough
  12. yup...crap shoot....We seen Printers...that other dude in BC who flamed out....Franklin...all world beaters and the next big thing...just evaporate....so kudos to locking him up....but the money amount could have been distributed differently....they basically payig now, for future potential...now will it get realized??...thats the question
  13. Bailey is making under 100k....I believe under 90k....but had over 100k offers....and not just over 100k....but he chose here Schoen will need about a min 130k bump for next yr.....to put him over the 200k mark...he's going to be a 3rd yr guy next year and earning top wage....but wont be "the" top wage....as that woukd really throw the receiver market out of whack more than it is....tenure still matters JA salary alone has basically the bulk of his bump covered....and yeah you can say...ya but the we need to replace him...well his spot will likely be filled by a guy already here...Murphy/Kelly who knows even Burtenshaw...it's not like we need to "find" and additional salary on top of everything...his roster spot needs to be filed...not per say his position, and if we continue to use a Mcrae type guy, or a new cheaper import to have as a backup....so be it then...Thats a salary we already are carrying Next yr will be some transition for getting guys experience for the 2025 run, and likely Thomas...Kolo...Miller...Briggs...Lawrence...Darby...likely Neuf...Gauthier...are gone...all vet salaries.....and if Bryant does hang em up, well there is Schoen's salary right there....we always are able to retain who we feel we have to, give whoever needs a bump a bump, and still have some left to look around with, and that won't change
  14. 80% of the game day thread there is about how we get all the calls, the League conspiracy to favor us......15% on how our line holds the most, and thats why they are considered the best, and usually the rest is a smattering of hoping a player gets hurt, someone is on roids, and the guy who took a dump in a plant here...which is funny as they are still too dense to realize the guy that did it was a moron from Saskatchewan who was here visiting....thats the kicker
  15. I've done that, and I regularit ly go to the gym during winter in my shorts as well...the walk from the vehicle to inside doesn't effect much
  16. thats always been a favorite I actually like Proulx....he's probably consistently the best one....also have to remember, he announces a lot of the questionable calls that his crew flag as well eh?...not necessarily his flag
  17. It should be a no brainer as Haba was in original lineup...Jackson essentially took his spot and if Osh doesn't flip it back to that then there is seriously something wrong Hansen takes Mauro's spot...pretty simple thing... Hansen can slide right in like Wilson did Don't give Osh any more ideas to further make our DA use worse! Lol
  18. yup....and you dont want to block young talent from getting that experience and getting better in their prime yrs, you need to maximize them when you can. Walters has done a good job reloading, so expect much the same, and the fact guys will sign here for a bit less....also helps, but thats also due to the environment Walters on down has created here
  19. lol....could actually see that happening with some of his gleeful calls
  20. I'm thinking it will be Neuf as we need to get Eli and Dobson in the lineup....Neuf off the books will be in the 130-140k range as well, so Neuf and JA alone frees up minimum 250k (JA budgeted 120k and Neuf assumed min of 130k) and do we keep Kolo as the extra Oline guy, as I am sure he isnt costing much....or we go with a draftee, or a FA pickup for cheaper....would assume Kola has to be around 100k I also thinking we move on from Briggs, as it was touch and go if he came back this year so he's likely in the 100k area, and assume Lawrence and Darby are likely gone and combined I am sure thats another 170k minimum there as well, and the team I would think move on from Thomas as well, if he doesn't just retire.....he really is a pointless player now when we should be developing a young guy...so a conservative estimate is likely 100k??...he's been here for 11 yrs, so that seems likely..if not a shave higher considering he is deemed a starting CDN so looking at those rough estimates/guess's there is a potential for around 720k to come off the books in veteran salaries I don't see moving away from either of Jeffcoat and WJ next yr. especially if Jeffcoat plays out the yr not getting hurt and is his dominant self....both are here on team friendly but fair contracts, and would expect the same again, I don't see Biggie hanging them up after this, why would/should he, and Big Stan said he likely will play until his body says he can't/shouldn't and he has said he feels just fine...that being said if we win this yr....he may go out on top....and his 190k i sure would be put to good use. Miller tho is a guy that I could see hanging them up....not even sure what his injury even is but seems odd when you see him and nothing appears to be hindering him. Fact of the matter, we have a likely access to all the SMS cash we need to retain who we want...bump up who needs a bump, and chase a target in free agency
  21. well....I know from experience....just leave it at that....not all guys are on 500 a week
  22. and.....u can make that claim how?...let me just tell you...u will be surprised
