  1. Seems like a JOD type move.
  2. Yea..we need D prospects but our cupboards are full at forward.
  3. If they change kickoffs Bede is not nearly as valuable. His kickoff length were invaluable to the Argos.
  4. Yea but we don't know who is over rated before they play only after and Marshall was king overrated in 2023.
  5. The pick is only probably a few spots higher than the Montreal 2nd we have and we have too many prospects than we have holes to fill right now. As it is we will be trading some good players out just to make room for McG, Chibs, Lambert etc
  6. For sure. That mantle belongs to Nick Marshall
  7. 5 minutes after we hoist ole Stanley. I would have much preferred Lindholm but wowsers he was expensive. Monahan will be a nice fit and allows us to add more.
  8. He has played really good hockey for them this year. He's not a world beater but he is an upgrade for us at 2C and it leaves lots of room for further upgrades. Montreal fan forums saying he was their best player so far this year. The 1st will be a late 1st rounder and the third only happens if we win the Stanley Cup.
  9. I know. He made it very clear that it was his choice.
  10. It's a curious move for sure. I'm not willing to **** on it until I see JT taking up a roster spot and/or the contract amount. Could very well be he is in the press box for most of the season or that we signed him to a league min no money up front and told him he has to win a job in camp.
  11. I agree that it is not the best, but I will wait and see the team assembled around him first.
  12. Again, all depends on what his intended usage is. I don't think Walters is a fool. It's quite possible that they sat Fatboi down and told him his role and salary are taking a nose dive this year but if he wants to accept that here is a contract. We did it with Harris so I am not sure why Fatboi would be immune to reality.
  13. Again...depends what he signed for. If he is at league min, and we don't know he isn't, then maybe they just want some cost certainty at DT NAT rotation at a low price. There are some big assumptions being made that his contract is taking away money from other signings and that simply may not be the case.
  14. Walters has a mind of his own and they make these decisions in tandem. He had a good interview with Donavan Bennett a week or so ago and stated that he has final say over the roster and has and will use it. He listens to the coaching staffs opinions and then goes from there and decides how they fit into his SMS or if they will fit into his SMS. He said that the coaches trust the scouting pipeline and if a deal can't be worked out with a player the coaches would like to have that they trust the process of how he decides on that.
  15. It depends what he signed for. If he's league minimum it effects our ability to sign Bennett in no way. I do agree that we probably should have just went rookie tho.
  16. Yea....he's been coordinating his hawaiian shirts with matching sandals and khakis for quite some time already.
  17. Think that was announced quite some time ago. They are good QBs but nothing special. There are more factors than just how they play the game when signing them. Both are old and haven't really demonstrated an ability to win the big games. If you are going to overlook their ages then you would at least want that on their resumes.
  18. I am not sure you watched him this year. He's playing well. I've watched most of the Montreal games and he has not fit your description at all?
  19. It's a solid move by the Jets. Still leaves a bunch of cap room for more additions and solidifies 2C. Monahan is having a decent season.
  20. He's playing decent hockey,
  21. Strev would have been both a MASSIVE add for them on the field and for their culture. I am sure glad he came home. He is going to have our guys fired up. Easily the best 120k we've spent in FA in a long time.
  22. I don't blame them for not doubling down on Dolegala. Doubling down on Harris and Fine is just a complete mess waiting to happen tho. I am absolutely mind boggled that with Brown and Strev on the market that they made no play for these guys. Harris is a band aid at best. The only way this even remotely has any logic in my mind is if they feel that Rourke will come back and set in motion a better QB domino effect for them than this offseason. Unlikely.
  23. He's never been awful. Inconsistent and easy to rattle once hit...for sure. Injury prone...yep. Advanced in age...no doubt about it. Me neither. Keep up the great work JOD!!
