I am a fan of Waggoner but still think we could have offered a 2nd rounder for him... if you don't get him, you don't get him... Walters ignored his own draft strategy and used a 1st on an LB instead of building OL. Its a mistake, that's all. I'm more worried about taking Richards when Waud, Durant, Beard and Archambault were still on the board. It reminded me of a Mack pick. My other concern is dumping our late round picks... Ottawa now has Lattanzio and I wouldn't be surprised if Butcher doesn't end up somewhere else - keep them on the PR.

I think a very good comparison is Calgary... next week will show us who the bombers really are. Mitchell has an awful OL, receivers legit running the wrong routes, pretty solid RBs, new QB coach... Calgary very much have the same excuses as the bombers. BC actually has more excuses than us... but we don't play them until October

Lots of excuses.... as always... Every QB or FA (especially during the Mack era) was an 'overpay'... Harris is not making $400k a year as a backup... Somehow Desjardins has landed two of the best starting QBs in the league, a prime LT FA and the best receiving core in the league... and stil stays under the cap. As for Barker, I agree they made a mistake... but there's a big difference between betting the farm on Ricky Ray than on Drew Willy...

Didn't know about the Wheeler/Okposo connection... interesting Okposo would be a huge upgrade over Stafford... I'd do $6 for 6 with Okposo - he's better than Ladd imo and if its not working out, leave him exposed at the expansion draft. Jets will still have room to sign Scheif and Trouba. Not sure what LHD Chevy is looking at in FA... unless its Hamhuis, I don't see anyone that good. Maybe Polak or Schenn.

No one should ever mock Desjardins again... he has built a winner from scratch. Great drafting, great FA, not afraid to pay for QBs, nice CDN depth... have to give him credit. Strange how Harris is playing in an entirely new system with new receivers and OL and yet seems totally comfortable
