I wont pretend to know intimately details of this deal but I dont think its as simple as being for or against. I heard a discussion on the radio where the guests were extremely pro-deal. So are they morons? Surely not. But from their perspective it was neccessary for Canada.

I took it more as WWE's cutesy way of thumbing their nose at the smart fans. And if they were going to turn roman then it was rather stupid to telegraph it that way. But sometimes the real swerve is doing exactly what everyone thinks you will. So it's possible Word is the tournament is going to go fairly predictably. Id assume roman vs Ambrose or Owens. They might feel like roman needs more odds to over come to get him over so screwing him in the end. Who knows at this point. Supposedly this tournament was causing them to re-think WrestleMania plans too so it's possible they hold off on roman winning the title til then and keep stacking the deck against him. -
Nice story. Except for the firing part. When the Harper family got together to eat dinner, it wasn't about quail eggs or rare oddities—no, it was more typical Canadian fare. Tim Wasylko knows. He has spent the past five years cooking meals at 24 Sussex Dr. as the executive chef, and his recollections paint a picture of an average, usually relaxed family sitting round the dinner table. “It was never about luxury,” he said. “It was just about serving an incredibly busy family.” But not anymore. “I am no longer the chef," he told the Sun. "Mrs. Trudeau sacked me." A statement on the website of the Privy Council Office confirmed his termination, with no details offered. Wasylko said he wished his departure from 24 Sussex Dr. hadn't gone down the way it did. After a long meeting with the prime minister's wife, Sophie, the head of house staff walked into a relatively vacant 24 Sussex Dr. and delivered good news to staff with a smile, according to Wasylko. For about the week the staff had been in limbo, wary of the election fallout, he said. “Everybody gets to keep your jobs,” Wasylko recalled being told. But not him. The Trudeaus had another chef in mind, he said. Despite losing his job, he said he's not bitter. Wasylko, who lives on a farm in Winchester, has been intimately involved in the best and worst moments of Parliament since 2010. “Somebody told me to start cooking. It was a long day,” he recalled of Oct. 22, 2014, the day a gunman killed a soldier at the war monument then stormed Parliament Hill. "We cleaned out every last bit of food we could. We made pots of chilli, everything....nobody packs a lunch for a lockdown." He was also the guy who ordered 60 large non-partisan pizzas to parliamentarians trapped over on the Hill that day. “Conservatives, Liberals, the NDP. I fed all of Parliament,” he said. Being a chef for the Harpers these past few years wasn't about the fine European wines indulged in by former prime ministers, he said. It was chicken pot pie and home-cooked meals. Meatloaf and taco night. It was chicken soup when was someone was sick. Wasylko shared fond memories of the Harper family he fed. “He put anyone I've ever met to shame when it came to work,” he said of Stephen Harper. “The man worked hard. You had to make sure he was fuelled properly.” The former chef said he never felt like a servant or a butler. He recalled the first thing Laureen Harper saying to him as “I want you to cook for my family the way you cook for your family.” “And I often did,” he recalled. He suggested the Harper family had no hints of being spoiled by the silver spoon. “The kids had part-time jobs, they had chores. It's hard to believe that, but it was as normal a family as it could be.” The fridge at 24 Sussex Dr. was always stocked with food from across the country, according to Wasylko Wasylko cooked meals for heads of state, from Angela Merkel to Barack Obama to Benjamin Netanyahu. The chef and former instructor at Algonquin College said his first foray into cooking for bigshots was in his early 20s, when he found himself making mashed potatoes at a UN meeting, many years ago. “Because I wanted to see one country hand mashed-potatoes to another country,” he recalled. Through the years with the Harpers, Wasylko adopted a strong belief that one of the biggest elements to diplomacy involves food and eating with one another. “They talk about the meal, and it's a chance to showcase cuisine,” he said. He indicated he stepped it up a notch but never went overboard on the menu when a world leader came to visit. “I would try to keep that home feel, believe it or not,” he said. From his perspective, meals with foreign powers were always cordial and friendly. “He seemed well liked with whomever he met.” These days, Wasylko says he's getting offers from all over the place after being booted from the Big Kitchen. He said one of his most memorable times serving as the executive chef was when Harper mentioned him in the House of Commons in the days following Oct. 22. "That just brought tears to my eyes. I'm a proud, patriotic Canadian as it is. But to have your boss actually thank you, well, it just goes back to the power of food."

And if true it all but assured roman gets under cut. Ambrose is way more over than he is. -
Wow, just wow... How is my post incorrect?

He works for the owners but his opinion matters a lot and he supported the jets returning.

Bettman has been great for the league. He's not popular but theres a real chance the Jets aren't here right now without him.

No no...Scott was tremendous as a singles star. Very very good top level star. He was the victim of the Triple H effect in WWE where Hunter made sure no one else was allowed to get over. -
CBC Winnipeg Coun. Ross Eadie apologized to his constituents Monday after waking up at the Main Street Project "drunk tank" Saturday morning, and said drinking doesn't affect his work. "I know they wouldn't relish having a so-called drunk representing them but again, that drinking has no effect on my ability to represent them," he said. Eadie admitted he was likely belligerent after he "had way too much to drink" at multiple bars on the weekend. "When you're blind and you're worked up and disoriented and don't know where you are … I guess I was belligerent and trying to go home," he said. "I'm not really a violent person." "I realize I am a public figure in a political office, but it is troublesome to me that my non-criminal personal activity was directed to the mayor's office," Eadie said. Winnipeg police declined to comment on the matter. Eadie said since the incident was made public, he has received what he calls "abusive" messages and phone calls, some of them from blocked numbers. The lesson here, he said, is to manage his drinking better during times of the year when he is prone to depression.

By all accounts a good guy. Initially he had some heat because he was an older guy when he began in the business and wasnt very good but was a close friend of Eric Bischoff's. So he got a push he didnt really deserve. But he worked his ass off and became a top guy, lived up to his push. He credits Randy Savage with putting him over the top. Savage was a very giving worker and liked Page and put him over while having great matches with him. As for the fight with Steiner, supposedly it started over DDP's wife. Kimberly found some drugs backstage and accused Sunny of being the owner. I dont think Sunny was well thought of and everyone assumed she'd relapse sooner or later. Kimberly apparently went to WCW management who accused Sunny and made her take a drug test, which she passed. Scott Steiner found out about this and was irate that Kimberly would do this and literally chased her out of the building (she never appeared again). Then Scott cut a shoot promo on DDP on TV and the way I hear it, while this was going on, everyone backstage slowly turned and looked at Page. Clearly he had to do something. He waited for Scott to come through the curtain and confronted him. The heated verbal exchange turned physical. Page got Steiner in a front face lock/guillotine before it was broken up. But Scott went nuts, shook off the other boys and went after Page. He took Page down (Steiner was an NCAA wrestler) and battered him, even going after his eyes before it was finally broken up for good. Page said his face looked like Freddy Kruger's when it was over. But the boys respected Page for standing up for himself against a nut job like Steiner and actually holding his own in the altercation for a little while. -

Supposedly not using the ship Enterprise and not using any previously seen crew. And likely not the movie universe though it might look more like the movie universe than any previous TV show. I wouldnt be against using the Enterprise B or C or the Enterprise when it was new under the command of Robert April. The Animated Series (which Roddenberry considered canon) established April as the first Captain of the new ship which was buolt around 2245 (Kirk commanded in 2265) and also that his wife Sarah was Chief Medical Officer. They could use April without adhering to *that* depicition but it provides some interesting background. -
Maybe its not a painting but one of those fancy nudes that he can feel.

By his own admission he was so drunk he can't say for sure what happened ... He can only spectate. I've been there, not fun to wake up the next morning and friends tell you what happened. Then again I was also in my early twenties at the time. I've had one incident in my life where I was so hammered I acted unbelievably foolish. Never allowed it to happen again. And it didnt involve police and paramedics. This guy needs to grow up and accept some responsibility. He should be apologizing, to the voters, the police and paramedics who tried to help him and the people at the drunk tank who looked after him, not whining about someone calling his boss. Certainly could have turned out a lot different for him.

@mikeoncrime: Source says it wasn't fact councillor was drunk. It was his expressed views on police that promoted mayor alert. This would also be newsworthy. Public has right to know Councillors views on police
-
His whole point about why would the cops call the Mayor...well, I have a feeling some of his verbal abuse was "do you know who I am" and "Im going to have your job". Im also disappointed he'd use his disability as justification for abuse. And what sort of role model basically says going on a drinking binge and being passed out in a cab to an extent the police and paramedics are called and he's taken into custody is really no big deal. Personal life is personal life but character is fair game when it comes to elected officials. If he was a celebrity, he'd be roasted. I'd like to see a break down in cost of the public resources he wasted by getting blackout drunk. And if he was physically abusive (he pretty much admits its possible), I'd suspect his position might have saved him from a charge. The drunk tank is better than getting arrested for assault, public drunkeness etc. His excuses and defensiveness are tone deaf. He should grow up. Now imagine if the poor cabbie had driven him home and this guy had fallen at his door or stumbled inside but choked on his own vomit...they'd be blaming the taxi driver. Cabbie did the right thing calling the cops.

Funny? Sad? Embarrassing? Some combination of the three? Winnipeg city councillor Ross Eadie admits he spent a night in the drunk tank over the weekend but is incensed that police informed the mayor’s office. The Mynarski councillor says he was drinking Friday night at a number of locations and was taken by police to the Main Street Project after the bars closed. The Main Street Project, on Martha Street, is the only shelter and drop-in centre downtown that will take people if they’re intoxicated. Eadie admits he had "way too much to drink" and had passed out in a cab when the police were called. But he said doesn’t remember what happened after that. "What happened is I had several drinks too much to have and I was with a friend. He put me in a taxi and I guess I probably passed out in the taxi and the taxi driver must have called to get assistance to get me out of the taxi," Eadie, who is legally blind, said in a telephone interview on Sunday. "If you wake up a blind guy who’s drunk, probably the first thing I’d do is try to push people away or whatever." "Someone from the mayor’s office called me and said that I assaulted somebody or something, a paramedic or something," he said. "It’s interesting in that I don’t understand why you would call the mayor," he said. "Why would you, the police, call the mayor? I’m 55 years old. I obviously had too much to drink. Why would you call the mayor, though? I don’t understand that. He’s not my father. I’m not accountable to him, so for me, it was kind of like, wow, what’s that all about." City spokeswoman Carmen Barnett said the mayor was not available Sunday and "he would not comment on this personal matter." Eadie said he and a friend had been drinking at The King’s Head pub in the Exchange District Friday, had a few more drinks at the Urban Shaman art show where he bought some art, and then they went to another bar. "I’ll just tell you, (a friend) put me in a taxi on Main Street after the bar closed and all I can figure is that I probably passed out in a taxi. Nobody told me anything. I’m just telling you what more than likely happened," Eadie said. "Given how drunk I was, probably passed out in the car. If I was a taxi driver, what I would probably do is call the cops. Wouldn’t you? "They took me over to the Main Street Project and let me out at 10 o’clock Saturday morning." Eadie said he has not been charged with anything. A Winnipeg police spokesman said late Sunday he had no information on the incident. A source told the Free Press Eadie was verbally abusive to police, prompting a senior officer to report his behaviour to the mayor’s office. Eadie said he did not knowingly lash out at anyone. "And again, if you wake up somebody who is totally drunk and you’re blind and you don’t know where you are, more than likely, because I don’t remember, more than likely I probably tried to push them away. Leave me alone. I just want to go home." Asked if he wanted to add anything or if he had any regrets about what happened, Eadie said, "I don’t think any of it is newsworthy. I had too much to drink." Eadie was first elected to city council in the Mynarski ward in 2010, then re-elected in 2014. He worked previously as a policy analyst with the provincial Department of Labour and Immigration, and as a school trustee with the Seven Oaks School Division, his election website states. ashley.prest@freepress.mb.ca
