  1. Oh here we go with the lawless bashing. I guess his article wasn't as good as all of your articles in mainstream media. Oh right. I wish people would get a grip about lawless. Really shows a lot of insecurity and stupidity with all the attacks.

Clearly lawless out forth an argument meant to stir discussion. And I agree. I don't care of Henoc does want to come back if you can get a legit number one QB for him you do it. No one is safe when it comes to getting a QB.

  2. We didn't release Elliott and Brink because they thought Buck was the man. They were relased because they felt they weren't going to be the "next one". If they were confident in buck it wouldn't have mattered who the back ups were

Hall is very accurate. I think he'd be successful of we had an o line. Goltz is done. Might as well release him now and bring someone else in. Don't waste a roster spot.

  3. I think the Banjo Bowl was a good example of what a Burke-led team could do if given time.  But it also shows that Creehan likely has to go.  One can assume (I believe it was stated during the practice week) that Burke took a more hands-on approach with the D.  And look what we got.  No doubt, Burke is a great D.C.

Improve the O line, find a QB and an OC that isn't terrible and this team can likely compete every game with Tim Burke as Head Coach.

  4. I think Burke speaks in public the way he speaks in private.  But he is accountable for his words too.  Recall when he said he'd cut Dan West "right now if I could" and then later apologized for the emotional outburst.

I think calling a QB a turnover machine when he *is* a turnover machine is a factual statement about the play of that player at that time.  And I dont think it's malicious.  You can tell intent when you listen to a person speak.  Reading their words removes context and intent.  If I write "Mike is very intelligent" that sounds like a compliment but if you hear me say it, the intent could easily be a sarcastic insult (ofcourse Im not being sarcastic though...just an example).

I think burke could be a very good Head Coach but what he's had to work with makes it impossible to know yet.

  5. Very true.  Depends on the Crown and the environment of the office I suppose.  In Manitoba there seems to be a lot of dysfunction.  I had an issue with a very over-zealous cop (when I was the one assaulted by colours-wearing gangsters) and because I submitted a complaint to LERA (that was heading towards a hearing), the Crown laid charges against me.  They even went so far as to offer to drop the charges in exchange for me dropping my LERA complaint which is dispicable really.  Even when they know they will drop the charges, there can be a desire to cost a person legal fees just to be ****-ish.

I even had the crown drop charges in another case against two of three guys who attacked me with weapons because they deemed it a "consensual fight" because I fought back to defend myself.  Figure that one.

Not good for the Riders though.

  6. Defending yourself from an armed gang doesnt usually lead to aggravated assault charges.  Seems fishy to me.  One might presume the cops submitted the case for crown opinion.  Crown often has a "charge everyone and sort out the BS later" mentality unfortunately so who knows.

In my years of working nightclubs, we never had any issues with any Bombers (or Jets).  Bison Football on the other hand....there was a very arrogant and violent period for that team.

  7. There was some chatter on twitter about rubbing the noses in it of the people who were demanding a QB switch at half time yesterday.  I cant say that keeping Goltz is why we won.  He threw up a couple of prayers and they were answered.  That wont happen often.

Ultimately, any evaluation of our QB depth (including Buck up until yesterday) will be hampered by our terrible O Line.  If Goltz had a couple seconds more to consider his options, would he make better plays?

  8. I think this week is really a tough decision for Burke.  I think we can speculate that Burke (and maybe Marcel) are not high on Goltz.  They prefer Hall.  But Goltz won (even if it was in spite of him).  The fans are going to equate winning with talent.  If Burke goes with Hall this week and it blows up in his face, the fans are going to be extra hard on him, even if, all things considered, Hall is the better option.

Lets put it this way, if the Bombers narrowly lose the game with all the same stats, who starts?  if its Hall, make a case for why Goltz starts just becase D & special Teams bailed him out of a poor game.
