Captain Blue

I know the win was far from flawless but I feel like we should give the offense more credit for hitting that gas pedal finally and the defense for shutting things down. Honestly I thought we were gonna lose on a FG in regulation but the D kept up their play.

Didn't look good there for a while but glad to get the win. Glad Dru got the win. Whole team stepped up after being in a big hole. It's embarassing that the refs and TSN don't even know how the rules work.

Officiating is a major problem for the league. Hard core fans can't understand the calls, casual fans have to be confused. The league's TV broadcaster can't even communicate rationale for plenty of these calls. They have to watch their words when plays are under review because they can't come out and say "this looks obvious" and then have the CC disagree with them.

Good to get the win. Teams are going to torch Nichols from now on unless something miraculous happens. Thought overall though the defense was good against a very good Toronto offense. Dru looked pretty good, that one pick was a bit of a killer. Receivers looked better. Need to see how they fare against a better defense.

That roughing the passer call is still absolutely bonkers to me

Tough one, finally had it rolling a bit and Nichols blows one.

Nobody has any idea what they're calling and it would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad

My suggestion is to no longer have definitions of penalties. Officials will just call the game based on vibes. Can't be much worse.

CFL refs again looking bad, as usual

Dru looks sharp, he's definitely not afraid to try some tight window throws. That may burn us a bit too but right now it's working. Seems like a nice fit for the Condell offense with all the quick and intermediate throws.

Honestly the game was ugly without both starting QBs but I thought we did well given the circumstances. Rookie QB in an away game, they kept it safe for him but he looked better than both Hamilton vets. Defense looked a little better too but hard to fully gauge once Bo was out.

Would love to know what we were thinking on that last play

That was awful coaching on both sides of the ball to end the game. D was awful, O had no idea how to move fast.

Horrendous time management.

Good thing we started our cushion in the endzone

Defense failed when it mattered

Did that guy just throw a punch?

Ya gonna be a game you look back on and kick yourself for if we can't pull out the win. Just an abysmal first half.

Three fumbles to start the game, just not locked in at all. Offense was moving but can't stop putting the ball on the ground and the defense is awful. Younger's seat getting warmer.

Really nice move, our OL should help keep him upright when he is the starter, possibly (or likely) next year.

Richie Hall will forever be underappreciated I think. I like JY too but he got smoked tonight. Just not anything you can consistently count on each week

Believe analytics support going for 2 there, you want to know what you'll need to win rather than postponing that possible result until later

So far the Old Bombers are killing the New Bombers...

I think DAZN is just happy to have yet another offering as part of their subscription service. They already have the NFL package, they may hope to draw some eyeballs from people just flipping through options on some nights. I think that's the CFL perspective as well.

I'm not too sad to see Wilson leave, it's clear Elgersma will be the next QB hope (whether it works is TBD). It is definitely concerning that we have no other CFL experienced QB on the roster behind Zach. Wonder if we try to change that.
