Ford is terrible, it's even more of a surprise when he breaks a tackle than grigsby.

Grigsby>Ford.  Ford works "ok" in support of Allen and Messam.  Really, I'd rather see Messam/Allen then Ford/Messam/Allen but it seems to be working.

Ford works well as a half time back. Someone to come in a change it up a bit. Do they ever use a formation that sees messam and ford in the backfield at the same time?

Rider fans on twitter are now blaming the officials and Turner.

Of course they are... Why blame durant who continued the play as well... Nope, blame everyone else first and foremost..

What? Why would you EVER blame Durant?

Simple really.. If your going to blame turner for continuing the play after the whistle... You have to blame durant for doing the same.. He could have pulled up, he could have ran backwards for all I care... If both players didn't hear the whistle then obviously both are free from blame but if either one heard it or felt the play was dead and continued on.... *shrug* just my opinion..

Kind of a really strange comparison to make, imo. Either way, hard for me to blame anyone.

Oh me too.. I don't see blame to be handed out in anyway really.. Ref can't make his whistles louder.. Durant and turner both couldnt hear a thing I'm sure.. Just a shitty play.. Blame our crowd i guess for being so dang insanely loud lol

I don't get how anyone can put blame on anyone other than the fans...and even then, that's a dumb excuse. If you watch the play there isn't a single player on either side of the ball who isn't continuing on with the play like it was a normal down. The people who are blaming players aren't thinking.

Also I'm glad durain't isn't coming back. I don't think he is the player everyone makes him out to be, and I don't think he's as classy as everyone thinks he is. Glad he's done, glad suckseri is going in and glad the riders will struggle with the rest of the year! **** YOU RIDERS!

Also when is the vet cut deadline?  He could replace Bryant in a second.

I think Bryant made it past the cut off and is paid to the end of the year whether he plays or not.

Assuming it's true he's playing next game, then his statline in the Banjo Bowl better read 11 rec 125 yds 3 tds.

    No pressure Romby.

shiiit he'd be lucky to get that if he played every game for the rest of the year!

FWIW- on today's H&L radio show, Lawless said he had information that Sask had dropped out of the bidding on Dressler. Apparently Taman topped out at a bit over $150,000 and is resigned to see Dressler go elsewhere.

    LOL

    Lawless = clueless clown

    mr. obvious over here... ;)

    Captain Obvious?

    :)

    no captains on this boat!!!

  5. I'm curious to see if Etch can make the adjustment in his scheme to stop the run. The Als' pass game is dreadful so stop the run and stopmthe Alouette offence. The defence for Montreal is still a pretty formidable group and they have an excellent coordinator with Thorpe.

Our run defense has a hard time with Big powerful backs. We've been able to control the small shifty ones.

  6. Well, this topic has been beaten to death lol. It is what it is. I will say though if you won't watch the game because of the jersey they are wearing, that seems a bit silly actually...

Sometimes, i think it's best to remember that 5 or 6 or even 100 people don't really make a difference in the big picture. Hell even 1000 don't make a huge difference.

Gotta remember that the folks that post on these forums, we are indeed the minority.

As much as it kills me to say it, yup, this is the minority on these forums, sure it might be the "hardcore" fans and being hardcore fans probably means that it will be difficult to accept change. But, with that being said, for a jersey that will only be worn once, maybe twice at most, but my guess is only once, It's a lot of complaining really for nothing.

Don't like the jersey? that's fine, nobody really does, ok a few people do but really... that's fine, people can like it or dislike it all they want, who really cares actually.. but saying you are being forced to watch them play in these is a crock of crap for sure, Nobody is forcing you to watch, if you don't want to watch cuz of the jersey, so be it, don't watch... they will be back to wearing their normal ones next week.

it's a bomber forum. We're here to talk about bomber stuff. Something just happened today that involved the bombers...so we're talking about it. It's just that most people share the same opinion. Nobody (ok maybe one) is talking about being forced to do anything. We're just talking about how crappy they are. On a forum about the bombers. I don't come here to talk about my day. I come here to talk about the bombers, some days that includes what I had for dinner at the game, others that includes sharing memories of old games/plays. Today it happens to be about crappy uniforms.

  7. They aren't as bad as I thought they were going to be...that's not saying much though. Like has been said, the lack of gold doesn't make sense and they are really boring uniforms. "bold and innovative" right? Wasn't that what they were going for? How does this accomplish that? And like others have asked who gave the ok on these?

As for the royals blues...Speaking for myself, I know they won't be used as a main jersey. But that doesn't stop me from wanting that....In the same way I know I can't get a fighter jet from pepsi even if I save enough pepsi points....but I still want one and will complain about it whenever possible....stupid pepsi.

From what I'm hearing Sheets has a decent shot of sticking with the Raiders.  Not sure why Lawless is so convinced that he is coming back.

Dressler is almost certain to re-sign with the Riders if released.  He has tons of off-field connections there (including a girlfriend and off-season job) and he is a virtual god in Regina.

Taman will almost certainly give him a generous offer and a few more dollars from another team will not make a difference given his history with the team.

Similar to Kohlert re-signing in Winnipeg this is a bit of a no-brainer.

He sold his house in Regina in the offseason and his girlfriend now lives with him. Unless she has a piano tied to her arse she can move with him elsewhere in the CFL. You are probably right that he ends up back in Regina, but it won't be the no-brainer you think it is. There are 2 teams who have already confirmed they will be throwing their hat in the ring on Dressler. (Ottawa and Toronto)...wouldn't surprise me if there are more.

It never ceases to amaze me how Rider fans seem to think there team and city is some kind of Shangri-La that players would never consider leaving elsewhere for. Heard the same tripe about Andy Fantuz, Craig Butler, etc etc.

Taman will need to break out the cheque book in a big way for Dressler, if he doesn't he will lose him to someone else. Unfortunately for the RIders that probably handcuffs them if Sheets comes back or in renegotiating new contracts for guys like Chick, TBrack etc. before FA. Taman may be considered a hero now over there, but they are about to find out that his long term SMS strategy is not fundamentally sound.

So how would Toronto be able to offer any more money than Sask?  They have just as many big names to 're-sign'...  would think Sask has the advantage in that people actually show up to their games.

What does attendance have to do with anything? Are you aware of what Toronto's cap situation is, or are you just rambling? The Riders have been documented by several media sources as being very tight to the cap presently. Haven't heard that about Toronto. The fact that their media is reporting that Toronto has strong interest in Dressler leads me to believe that they either have the cap room to offer him a big contract, or they are willing to make cap room for him.

Off the books for the Riders this season:

    • Simon
    • Anderson
    • Mike McCullough
    • Shologan
    • Butler
    • Rey Williams

Taman has the money to re-sign Dressler and there is little to no doubt that he will.  Anybody thinking otherwise is just wishful thinking.

He's "front office staff" now right....there's no carry over from the year before....that's not what's happening....nooooo....
