I'd take a guy who can drive the field before getting useless than failing to be able to drive the field at all. Turnovers in the red zone are a lot easier to fix than not being able to string a couple first downs together.
OK coach, if you say so. I had no idea redzone turnovers were so easy to fix. You should tell that to the hundreds of QBs who have failed in the CFL and NFL for that very issue. If only they had that secret formula that only you seem to possess!
-
So what does that say about Buck? Because Elliott was better than he was last year.
Buck wasn't very good last year but Elliott wasn't better. He could drive half the field like a champ, unfortunately when he got to the 35 yard line he became absolutely useless. What good is that??
-
It may have been because Elliott was terrible.
-
I do like the attitude overall, but he's gotta get the most out of this team or it'll be another new coach and another new GM.
That much is certain
-
If Buck stays healthy, we'll win football games. Been that way his whole career and it will continue to be.
-
Yes, how terrible. Let's look at the offending quote again.
"It is a little bit disconcerting that that happened and that's what I told the guys last night," said Burke, who played most of his starters Wednesday.
"I thought that was the disconcerting part -- that we didn't show better against their backups."
Can you believe that?!?! Wow what a big jerk. Can't believe he would drag his players through the mud like that. How awful.
-
The thing is Dunn has looked great in practice. Probably want to get a look at him in a second game to see if he bounces back.

I got on the bus at Woodhaven in St James around 5 35 or 5 40 and walked into the stadium about 10 minutes before they sang the anthem. Really wasn't that bad. They just need more buses because ours filled up with several stops remaining so we couldn't pick up anyone else. Easy fix.
-
Did Burke say today that Goltz will play the first half in Guelph, Hall and Clement the second half? Is it good to start a season with a QB who hasn't completed a pass in pre-season?
Probably not but in all likelihood the majority of snaps throughout the season will be taken by QBs other than Pierce so it's not a terrible idea to get them as much experience as possible, considering they all seem to have a ways to go.

Apparently 8000+ transit riders compared to the expected 5200
-
guess we still don't know who Ricky's backup will be.
Don't worry you're in good hands, apparently they're all absolutely fantastic.

Thoughts:
Traffic plan needs work. Our blue n gold express bus was full after the first 2 out of 6 planned stops. Good job getting us out quick after the game though.
I liked Wendell Brown, Marty Markett, and Ryan Lucas on defence. Everyone else sucked royally. Also Anthony Woodson is our second best running back and making a push for number one since Simpson decided it would be a good idea to gain 10 pounds so he could run slower and get less yards per rush. Odd decision but he's the pro I guess?
Offence looked terrible. Pierce goes 0/5 are you kidding me? Maybe they should give some first team reps to their first team qb in practice... Just a thought.
Concessions were unbearably slow. True North pays people to run their concessions, Bombers have volunteers (i.e. seniors from some ridiculous club) running the concessions. Seriously this guy couldn't even read the numbers on the cash register. It was bad. Missed 12 minutes of the third quarter waiting in line... Nice tv's on the columns at least.
Massey looked good returning. Renaud punted 6 out of 8 punts and looked good. Hutchison and Cameron got the other two. So much for evaluation? The job is Renaud's. Palardy looked like Palardy.... Misses ugly ones sometimes but will otherwise do an adequate job... Not that it matters since no one is competing with him for the job.
Overall I thought the team looked awful. Poorly prepared and completely disorganized. The atmosphere sucked because nobody cared and everyone stays in the concourse rather than sitting in their seats. The guy on the mic was AWFUL, oh man did he ever suck... See ya later pal, you win 0 dollars and a lifetime of shame.
I thought Clement looked like he was the better QB out of Hall and himself. Hall looked better in camp but Clement is far more mobile and seemingly just as accurate as Hall when the lights come on. Hall had a LOT of chances to do something and he never did.
Etienne was our leading receiver with 2 catches for 31 yards.

Traffic is hIlariously bad. People are going to be freaking out lol
-
It may also be because the Bombers are virtually silent in this city, unless you are a regular CJOB listener. I doubt most people even knew there was a game tonight. The Bombers rely on the press to get the word out rather than advertising. And the press shits on the Bombers on a daily basis so I don't find it all that surprising.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup final is also tonight

What I would really love is to see him catch a TD sometime in the pre-season.
Can he go back to the CIS after this?
Actually he is in junior, not CIS. Pretty sure he can go back but I bet they keep him on the practice roster with the big club.

Did you quote the wrong person?(Unless you were just quoting him because you agreed with his statement.. either way still a weird quote though)
Weird quote?
How high are you bro?
-
A 2009 review published in the American Journal of Addiction concluded that driving high is likely less dangerous than driving drunk, and a recent investigation by the Institue for the Study of Labor found that the legalization of medical marijuana in the United States has been linked to a dramatic decrease in traffic fatalities. That said, a study published last year in the British Medical Journal concluded that smoking pot within few hours of driving is still associated with a nearly two-fold risk of being involved in a serious car crash

Oh? And if he does it 3+ times in one game? Multiple times?
Great for morale, I bet.
