  1. Either of those gives Ottawa similar field position...D still needs to execute.
  2. A few days ago I was posting just how bad a DC Etch is & how I want him gone. He was being defended by more than a few here saying that his defense saved games for us & kept us in others. It wasn't the defense, the posters said that was a problem. It was the offense. Well, we travel to Ottawa lose embarrassingly to the worst team in the CFL & a couple of our major problems was the inability to tackle & stop the run which has been the way it's been defensively all season. I want Etch gone but I'm getting the impression that MOS will stubbornly go down with his coaches before he fires any of them so we're stuck with this guy for the long term. The offense scored 13 points last night...that's not enough to win.
  3. I still think Calgary is tops in the west provided Cornish and BLM are healthy... but will they be? That's the real question. Whether it's health or attitude related, Cornish has been inconsistent this year. The Calgary team we saw last night won't make it out of the West.
  4. A missed FG on third and five puts the Redblacks at the 35 (assuming no return). The same scenario could've unfolded either way.
  5. Collaros against the BC D will be interesting to watch...or not. I think BC has the best D in the league right now. Based on recent games, I see BC or Edmonton coming out of the West.
  6. The Calgary secondary nearly gave that one away. For whatever reason, the CFL website isn't showing any of Doege's stats.
  7. I think finding better American OL needs to be priority #1
  8. If you want a good romantic comedy to watch with your wife...try Leap Year.
  9. There's a lot of talent in Saskie. Probably more than any other town in Canada. Including the doctors. Welcome Rod. We've been waiting for you to join this forum for along time. Please make and lose a bet immediately...
  10. The men in the tinfoil hats would surmise that the CFL needs the eastern teams to win and they must have blocked the communication channel that the WBB's were using ensuring that the call couldn't be communicated from MB to Willy. There's really no other explanation. Am I the only one that saw Austin on the sidelines with rabbit ears and a HeathKit? No way, he borrowed a walkie talkie set from a kid in the stands. They taped it to the centre's butt and all Collaros had to do was listen for the calls.
  11. No, but you just did
  12. Only because I think this is a good topic to discuss, I will make it easy for you. imo the only significant injury that has cost us has been at long snapper. Zach Anderson, Nic Moore, and Jason Vega. and....how exactly do we know that? Have their replacements made mistakes that lead directly to losses. Nic Moore is an excellent route runner and pass catcher. We haven't got anyone better. He was also throwing some great blocks early in the season. Anderson was a force in the middle that we're obviously missing now. How often do we drop an RB for a loss of yards? They usually gain at least 3, more often than is it's 6 or 7. Last game, Collaros was working with second and short more often than not. A healthy Vega is always a force.
  13. Haven't you heard? It's Subway partnered with Kleenex

  15. If you've watched the trends for 20 years, you can see that offences always take longer to adjust. It's worth noting that more Canadians start on offense, so it may take longer to find new talent.
  16. At the risk of actually fitting a square peg into a round hole...I'll just leave it at that.
  17. All QB injuries around the league considered...Edmonton is looking like a solid contender this year.
  18. Fair point. They are showing every sign of a team with a young QB and few other pieces missing right now.
  19. It's a matter of perspective. You can't really compare the current roster to the one that started the season, mostly due to injuries. It's pretty hard to measure progression when so many guys who started the first game are not playing. It's the same standard for all teams in the league, injuries effect everyone. Of course it is. But it was clear going into the season that they could ill-afford injuries at certain positions. Measuring their improvement by that standard means you're measuring how much they could improve their depth during the season. Depth isn't very likely to improve after TC.
  20. BC put up a whopping 7 pts on the Stamps. Cgy lost to Mtl. Any team can beat anyone on any given day. Riders have a good team, sorry but that is a fact.Let me guess, you wrote off the Riders last year during their 4 game losing streak? Was Durant hurt during that stretch last season? If not, I don't see the comparison. Going by the majority of the comments on here before Durant got hurt, he isn't all that valuable. Funny how that works hey? I'll only say this once: Durant is who he is. He's a QB who tends to throw a lot of floaters, but that doesn't matter when he has speedy receivers who will catch just about anything. Ever since he's been there, the Riders have had a very good OL and running game. Durant has been more of a game manager who was capable of throwing long strikes to guys like Dressler. All of that being said, without Durant managing the game and being a deep ball threat, the Riders are just not very good. Some have said that all Sunseri has to do is 'manage the game.' That's far easier said than done.
  21. There's also a high number of dominant defensive players league-wide. Gone are the days when it was just Cam Wake and a few others.

  23. He obviously should have called the plays that the Esks couldn't stop! what a moran. Cortez has been terrible lately. I would not be disappointed if he lost his job. Yeah fire arguably the best OC in the league because a backup qb in his first chances to start doesn't look good... the things some of you say. If you fired Cortez there would be a lineup of teams picking him up. And the answer to the QBs struggles isn't to do the same play calls every possession. The answer probably isn't to fire him, but he needs to pick up his socks. Sunseri doesn't look like he can execute a wide variety of plays. Not the first rookie QB who struggled mightily, nor will he be the last. It's all about how you perform once the rest of the teams have some film of you.
