Wrong to whom? The fans? We can criticize all we want and have our reasons for doing so, but we aren't in any position to say his roster moves are wrong, or right.I don't think I know more about football than MOS but evaluation of performance isn't as hard as you make it out to be. He deserves to be questioned. Question O'Shea all you want. Evaluation of players doesn't start and stop with just what you've seen on TV and at the games. There's a lot you don't see, unless you're at every practice and in the meetings.

Simmons had one day of reps with the defense. I don't think we'd activate him just to play on ST.

No there's 8. Kohlert, 4 OL, Bucknor, Westerman, Hurl. I've never been known as someone who can count....
-
He can. Should also note he was on the Ticats PR earlier this season.

I don't have the numbers to back this up but I think you have to look at the effect of a sack in stopping drives whereas hurries and hits can still result in a positive result for a particular play. It seems to me that the loss of a down (you only get two tries really) and the usual loss of yardage is far more important. Also holding penalties are not near as bad as sacks so they can't be given equal weight. At least in a holding penalty situation the team has a chance to recover from the setback unlike a sack situation where you just might lose the QB altogether as well as down and distance. I have seen that happen a few times. But to summarize this is just musings without statistical backing. Babble on. Here is a stat on that from the CFL: 171 drives where a team gives up a sack. A touchdown was scored on that same drive only 3 times. Wonder how many of those are on 2nd down?

WINNIPEG, MB., August 28, 2015 – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today the club has added international kicker Sergio Castillo to the practice roster. Castillo (5’11, 195, West Texas A&M, November 1, 1990) played four seasons with the Buffaloes where he connected on 78% of his field goal attempts. As a senior in 2013, he went 24-30 on field goals. That year, he was the winner of the Fred Mitchell Award, given to the nation’s top kicker. His 38 field goals in 2012 marked a school record for field goals made in one season. His 62 career field goals are both a school and Lone Star Conference record.

Grey Cup & Banjo Bowl Temporary Stands

The Riders were also a serious contender who made it to the game. We aren't anywhere near that as a team. I'd argue with that "serious contender" statement. The Riders were 8-10 in 2012. The 2013 season was barely 3 weeks in when they officially announced the sellout. I'd argue your argument that they weren't serious contenders. They went on a massive FA spree that offseason and started the 2013 season 3-0 with two blowouts. You could definitely argue that they were making a significant push in FA to sign some big names since they were hosting the big game, but I it would be hard to convince me these moves meant they'd be any better in the win-loss column. All that aside, considering the roster moves they made, I could see why the average fan would be encouraged by them heading into the season. -
My question would be whether this is based on total number of conversions or conversion percentage. I'm not sure of the answer. Saw this: Looks like it's based off conversion % with Ottawa being #1 in that category. http://www.cfl.ca/article/landry-teams-struggling-on-third-and-short-situations

The 3rd and 1 rankings can be misleading as well. Just because Calgary is 7th, doesn't mean they have failed at it, it can also mean they just haven't had as many opportunities to convert them.

Bottom line is that it is not one thing, or even one large factor that alone is contributing to where the sales are at. You can ask 5 different people and get 5 different answers. People in Regina in 2013 also complained a lot about the price, but they sucked it up. That was pretty much the only roadblock for them. -
It's been said before, don't get too hung up on the number of national "starters". It really is just a formality. We have the maximum number of internationals on our game-day roster just like every team and that's what you should be looking at if your concerned with the number of nationals who are showing up with their names first on the depth chart.

The pricing models have been very similar more than just the last 3 years. Taking a look at the past 6 or 7 and you will still have similar averages give or take $50. Not true except for the Grey Cup in 2012 and that was the 100th Grey Cup in Toronto, by far the biggest corporate city in all of Canada. Even there, the cheapest tickets were cheaper than this year's Grey Cup and many comparable seats were cheaper.I have heard from many BC Lions fans that attended the 2011 Grey Cup that comparable seats for that game were considerably cheaper than the 2013 which means they are considerably cheaper than this year's game. $100 to $295 with the discount and there were something like 20,000 - 30,000 seats available at less than $200 without the discount. Cheap tickets were much cheaper than here 2010 tickets in Edmonton were a substantially cheaper. Tonnes of $100 tickets and their most expensive ticket was at $250 was cheaper than almost all of the tickets for this year's game. 2009 tickets in Calgary had a sustantially larger number of cheap seats than Winnipeg thanks to the large number of season ticker holders (near 30,000) who bought tickets to the game. I believe all the temp seats were $119 and a substantial portion of corner endzone seats were $200 with or without the discount. 2008 Grey Cup in Montreal had tonnes of cheap and reasonably priced seats like Edmonton - $84 - $274. I realize Winnipeg, being in a smaller stadium, would have to charge higher prices than places like Edmonton and Montreal, but I also realize that the team cannot charge overly high prices given the limited number of hotels here (gouging more prevalent than large cities) and the outdoor stadium which is sure to attract less out-of-towners than anywhere but Regina and Hamilton. Similar averages typically within $50. You have to factor in how many seats are within each price point. Obviously the farther you go back, the average has come down but still within that margin. -

I'm pretty sure there were way more people and factors involved into the pricing of these tickets than Wade sitting in his office with a pen and paper. And you do mean potential revenue lost, right? I'm sure the NHL thing cannot be laid on any single entity alone. The timing schedule alone was a big factor. But you can blame Miller if you want. It's more fun to blame Wade. On a fan message board too, right? Uh yea, that's what this so yea. Not sure what point you're trying to make here. Well for starters, it's completely inaccurate. I get it. Wade is your boss so you need to kiss his ass. You've figured it all out, well done. Nice to see you're paying attention. -

So you're saying that having the Winter Classic here in December this year wouldn't have affected Grey Cup ticket sales? -
