I have heard that some people don't like such an early start with so many summer games as they're on holidays or at the lake so they can't be there. Families take vacation this time of year & are gone. I don't think starting & ending the season earlier will magically make attendance go up. In fact, it may go down. To me, ticket pricing is the biggest barrier. People won't pay for high priced tickets as walk ups.

When I was a kid in the 1960's, my Mom used to take me shopping with her. I absolutely hated it. We'd hop on the Morley Bus & then transfer onto the Salter Bus on Osborne Street for the ride to Eaton's or The Bay. Sometimes we'd start at Eaton's & go to every. damned. floor... then we'd walk from Eatons' to The Bay & do the same thing. Very occasionally, we'd bus it over to Polo Park but that meant a day's worth of shopping which was a nightmare to me. I remember whining the entire time everytime we went. Finally at about age 11 she let me stay home by myself.... Felt like a grown up!!! I sure remember those days walking Portage Avenue on the south side.

How do you overcome this? Dramatically lowering tickets, parking & concession prices. I've always maintained that charging $90 or more for an unused ticket is ridiculous as it sits empty making no money for a team. Whole sections of high priced tickets sit empty for an entire season in stadiums across the CFL. Teams need to lower prices in some areas to anywhere from $25 to $40 the closer to midfield & every ticket sold then goes into team coffers. Those tickets will sell. I think the CFL has to really look at its ticket pricing structures to get a handle on it. Pricing now is insane & people stay away & watch at home.

My niece lives in Amsterdam & there seems to be very little green space anywhere. The buildings are historic & beautiful dating back some 500 years but the place is all stone & concrete. All of Europe seems to be like that. If I'm wrong then please feel free to correct me as I've never been to Europe. That's just my impression.

Ya think? LOL. Derrell Walker & Duke Williams would make Drew Willy look good. I like Mike Reilly but put him on a team with average to below average receivers & he'd be nothing special. The Esks have made sure to always surround him with big & talented pass catchers. I do wish we never gave up so fast on Kenny Stafford.

I don't dispute that as what you said is valid for sure but I think the fence sitters, the ones that want to watch their team play would go. The person who isn't a fan would never go anyway but casual fans would. When a home game is televised people will stay home to watch it. Just human nature, I think.

Maybe not here but in cities like Toronto, Vancouver & Calgary.

Wally should never have come back after he fired Tedford.

Lulay & Wally arguing. Of course they shut off the mics. Frigging TSN. Why have mic'd up games????

Reilly keeps staring at his tablet like it'll change the way he & the Esks are playing.

This ain't your Grandpa's Portage & Main.

I'm watching. We're always number 3 in the Power Rankings & this bad of an Eskimo team is always #2. Go figure,

Not having that area around the stadium that used to be a golf course not made into a parking lot is an issue as well. Every stadium has a parking lot.

I remember that intersection open & there's no way what he says is true. The same here in Calgary with our idiot mayor Naheed Nenshi who along with his progressive colleagues on city council pushed hard for bike lanes saying getting out of the downtown to go south on MacLeod Trail would only take an extra 3 minutes according to a City of Calgary engineering study. I don't have the stats but it's nowhere near as fast as 3 mins. Traffic is slower getting out of the downtown everywhere with bike lanes. Nenshi just lies to the media. I suspect bellamy is doing the same thing or looking at a study like Nenshi did & is quoting best case scenario under perfect conditions that happen twice in a year. Not worse case scenario which is almost everyday.

Well thank you, Captain Obvious. Next you'll tell us if the Bombers score more points than the other team survey says... they'll win.

That was nearly 40 years ago. There are new enemies now & the live one province west of here. Who cares about 1980?

We weren't 15-3-1 or 14-4 playing far inferior teams in the GC like Ottawa & Toronto? How can you even make the same kind of comparison to what the Stamps did & have done choking more than winning after having dominant seasons? How many GC's have they blown since 1992??

Except in the very last game they play.

When I lived in Wpg & has ST's I had to leave 90 mins before every home game which made it very challenging getting home after work, changing & having a quick bite to eat. . I lived in Riverview & had to drive thru congested traffic starting at Kenaston & Grant Avenue & inching all the way to Canad Inns. I never gave it a second thought. It was just the way it was. I wanted to go to the games so I endured it without complaint although it was stressful. Never missed a game in 26 seasons. Back in the 70's & 80's weekday evening home games started at 8 pm & most people were happy to have the time to get to the games after work. Today, games start at 6:30 or 7pm & it would be a challenge to get to games after work with such early starts.

You'd take your life into your hands if the stadium was in Point Douglas.
