Philips throwing mechanics worked for him. I doubt others could throw the ball the way he did with the same kind of accuracy. Certainly Strevy's passing mechanics makes him throw wild sometimes & his accuracy is inconsistent. One time he can thread the needle. The next throw he has a pick. His game is run first & pass 2nd. I will stick to my feeling he is a gimmick qb working well with a short playbook suited to his physical attributes as a qb. When Nichols went down in 19, Strev really struggled with the entire playbook. When Zach came in, Streveler's role totally changed to what he's good at. Short yardage, run the ball & throw quick, short passes. I'll give him credit in that he did find some of his receivers open downfield when he played.

2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition
Hey, T Burg. Who damn well cares? That was 2 years ago. This team has won B2B Grey Cups. There's no asterisk after that win in 2019. No one cares what the Bomber record was in 2019. In 1970, the Als played the Stampeders in the Grey Cup. The Als beat the Stamps that day. What was their record that season? Do you know? Do you care? Does anyone care?? No. Nobody cares if the Als were an elite or MOR team. Is there an asterisk beside the Als winning the Grey Cup? All they know is they were league champs that year. That's all that matters. In 1989, the Riders beat the Tiger Cats in the Grey Cup. Was Saskatchewan an elite team? Do you know? Do you care? Does anybody care? Is there an asterisk beside the Riders win? All fans care about is they were Grey Cup champs. What about 2017? Were the Argos an elite team? Does anybody care? All fans know is that they were Grey Cup champions that season. Were the Argos an elite team? Is there an asterisk beside the Argos as champs? No one will care. No one cares now. All fans will care about is the Argos were Grey Cup champs. The only one who seems to care about this is you. None of the rest of us do. We just care about the fact the Bombers were champs in 2019. MOR team or not. The absolute & total physical beatdown of the Ti Cats in that championship game showed that they were deserving winners.

It's not the mindset. It's the physical part - mechanics.

Agree. I used to call him a "gimmick qb". I just think he's an absolute run first qb. Tough as nails & fires everyone up. He makes plays & wins with his legs but not his arm. Give him a package of run/short pass plays he shines. Give him the entire playbook & he struggles.

Streveler is a backup in both leagues but he is suited athletically more to our league than the NFL. That being said, I'd sign him to be #2. I'd hope that working behind Kyler Murray & being coached up by Cliff Kingsbury that his throwing would have improved.

That in itself is mind boggling. He probably thought he was young & being a pro athlete was in great shape with no comorbidities. And look what happened.- 2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread
Cox was a dirty SOB along with Kyries Hebert.- Riders didn't win another cup.
Did anyone in the media say or accuse the Bombers of being over the cap when we won B2B Grey Cups? Is anyone in the media saying we should cheat the cap to re-sign our veterans? No one. We won & stayed within the rules. You never heard Bob Irving say that & he never would have because he was a true professional when it came to covering the team. He covered the Bombers for 45 seasons & I'd say he's more of a Bomber homer than some of the players who played here. Yet, it would never occur for him to do that. Yet, Suitor does because he played for the Riders & that makes it okay? Winning two championships & knowing we didn't cheat just makes it even better.- Riders didn't win another cup.
He isn't living in our heads. He's living in our television sets & he comes out when a CFL game is on.- Riders didn't win another cup.
Matty's not the easiest to understand when he gets excited.- Riders didn't win another cup.
I think the issue here is Suitor has become too comfortable in his position with TSN. There's nobody younger bucking to replace him so he's become cocky, opionated & arrogant. He's not afraid to show his biases. He needs to be reigned in as a commentator. His tweet kinda says it all. Like, "What'd I say?? C'mon!" He just has absolutely no idea.- Riders didn't win another cup.
Yep, we won B2B Grey Cups by "pushing the cap" (cheating). He really needs to be replaced on TSN.- 2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread
Sometimes life's a mystery. If ya know what I mean.- Riders didn't win another cup.
Harcourt Fenton Mudd is a Rider fan in the 23rd century. Goes into a bar on a Federation Star Base looking to sell his season tickets to Mosaic Stadium #5 because they haven't won a championship in 300 years. No one wanted them so now he's got more tribbles than he bargained for.- 2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread

As of today, stricter regulations to enter the country. People must show proof of vaccination. EVEN PRO ATHLETES. So, this will impact every pro league. as far as the NHL goes, I just hope for the Jets sake, guys like Connor, Hellebuyck & others are fully vaxed. If he went back to San Francisco, Jeremiah Masoli can't enter the country to come in as he's unvaxed. If he wants to throw away his career, such as it is anyway with more ups & downs than a rollercoaster, then that will be his choice. I have no sympathy for him walking away from $400,000 or more per season because he's being stupid.- 2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread
Ruby is a pylon. Like Chungh. He's also an idiot.- 2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread
The QB options for the RB's are lessening the longer this season goes on. Their only 2 viable options are Masoli & Harris. If Masoli refuses to vaccinate then his career is over. I don't believe that Bethel-Thompson would even be considered if he was a free agent. How anyone can think of LaPo as this elite coach boggles the mind. The other thing about this article is the guy who wrote it lives somewhere in Brazil.- 2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread
I guess Nic Demski, Kian Schaefer-Baker, Juwan Brescascin, Andrew Harris & Sean Thomas-Erlington didn't get much development playing 3 down football. Not to disrespect your brother but that's the dumbest take by anyone who has a kid playing football. Participation is down not because of 3 downs but because parents are afraid of brain injuries. As was stated, Special Teams are a big part of the Canadian game. No one gets less development playing 3 down football as compared to four.- 2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread

What an incredibly inept qb. How can anyone spend 6 seasons in the CFL, go to every qb meeting, every video session, every practice & game & STILL not be able to spot that elusive 12th man on defense?? That is truly some kind of dense. - 2021/22 - CFL Offseason - Non-Back-to-Back Grey Cup Champion Thread
