  1. I grew up in that era when Elizabeth was only 10-20 years into her reign. I remember all those British PM's from Churchill on. It's amazing as a constitutional monarch only how some feared her when they came for their weekly visits. You can really see how much Charles was totally ****** up when he was growing up with that family around him. Especially a jealous Phillip who was bitter over how he felt he lost Mountbatten as a father figure to Charles. I've tried to watch Letterkenny & I have to say after repeated attempts, I just don't get it.
  2. Tom was always the straight man to his brother ****. I was just a 12 & 13 year old when the Smothers Brothers Comedy Show was on tv. So, a lot of the jokes went over my head but I got it all later. It became an anti war show with a clear message the US needed to withdraw from Viet Nam. How it lasted three years on network tv in the US is amazing. There wasn't a lot of comedy other than Pat Paulsen who was legit funny but even he became political as he ran for President in 1968. Although it was a pantomine as it was part of the show, he still got 200,000 write in votes. .
  3. MBT does like to argue with his teammates on the sidelines.
  4. It's taken me years to craft my talent.
  5. The Rookie; Feds was thankfully cancelled.
  6. I don't agree. Schoen is the priority to me as we pass so much. We can allow Brady to go elsewhere, flip the RB position to an American along with a backup for cheaper than what we're paying Brady now. That allows us more flexibility re: the salary cap.
  7. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year, Wanna-B-Fanboy.
  8. It would be such a Jones move to sign MBT & move Ford to slot.
  9. That's how Nick Arbuckle thought. Now he's nothing. His CFL career is on his last legs. If he signs in Ottawa, it'll be painful to watch. Exactly. It goes back further with Barrett, Flutie (Huff was his mentor & taught him the Canadian game), Garcia, Dickenson then Burris...
  10. They don't have to make a decision on Cornelius until January 15th.
  11. If you were Dru brown, would you sign with Ottawa knowing the history of that team as well as bad management & coaching? If I was Brown, I'd be hesitant if they offered me the most money to play for a tire fire of an organization like that. I truly hope he uses common sense to know that money might buy him more problems than he really needs. Brown reminds me of Nick Arbuckle. Small body of work. Thought he should be a starter. Has been bouncing around since. He'll probably bounce his way out of the CFL now the way he's played.
  12. We're talking about an organization that has won 4 Grey Cups.
  13. MBT is out there as well. That complicates things for Brown.
  14. And the problem is, coaching. The Stamps can't develop qbs anymore because they don't have the expertise to do it. There are no young John Hufnagels or Dave Dickensons waiting in the wings. Canadian teams are cheaping out by hiring more & more Canadian coaches who just don't have the knowledge to develop young qbs, Does anyone really think Mark Mueller can do it with the Riders?
  15. Well, sounds great in theory but in reality it ain't happening. They're not goin g to give up on Maier after just one season. They'll fire assistant coaches before they do that.
  16. Can our defense play well in a series of 7 game finals in the spring. We aren't the biggest or most physical team. Will we get ground down in the playoffs.
  17. I dunno. I used to be a real curling fan & played the game a lot when I was younger, I"m no expert nor am I a great fan anymore but I believe that the tall foreheads of the sport have screwed up the Brier something bad. The residency rules where a skip from Ontario can skip a team from Alberta was a mistake. Yeah, I get it's because of Olympic qualifications but having two wildcard teams thrown in just makes it confusing for fans. I think they need to get away from rules like that. If you curl for a province then you need to live there. Then get rid of the wildcard teams. This is the Canadian championship so only the provinces or territories should be represented. Do the wildcard teams represent the provinces or are they independent? Casual fans like me don't seem to know. Like I said, I'm no expert but I think you have to fix the Brier first. Get the interest back to the Canadian championship & everything else filters down. That is Job 1 in my books.
  18. D'Onofrio always plays his characters with an edge. I remember his Law & Order character had emotional issues that sometimes broke thru in certain situations. He does play Vincent Gigamte as a psychopath. Great axtor.
  19. Calgary won't get Brown. Dickenson is all in on Maier. There's ansol;utely no talk or rumours of changing qbs in Calgary.
  20. I'd hate to have that yoke around my neck. He'll have a lot to live up to.. Which isn't always a good thing.
  21. I remember that. Anyone remember this, "Parents, where are your children?"
  22. I have nothing against the man but Rider Nation has put this guy up on a pedestal when he hasn't proven he can effectively call plays.
  23. Mueller was fired as an OC in Calgary. And Ryan's talking about him like he is some kind of an offensive guru.
