I think that has a lot to do with it. Matt Nichols is no Khari Jones. Nichols won a lot of games and played well for the most part but was not a guy you want throwing 40+ passes a game like Khari. Lapo knew what he had and played to its strengths. Great running back and ok QB. Hand the ball off 20 times, throw high percentage shorter passes, and control the game. And when we would get behind by a couple scores it was usually lights out. Nichols isnt a world beater and does not play well when forced to throw. Zach can beat you with his arm and likes to take chances down the field, much more so than Nichols who was VERY risk averse. I cant remember how many times we were down by a couple scores late in games over the years, and Nichols is still trying to nickel and dime himself down the field with 5 yard throws. Buck knows Collaros is more gun-slinger than Nichols. Add in the fact that Harris is 2 years older, and i think you'll see Buck open up the passing game much more this season.

Believe it or not Rob Vanstone from the Regina Leader post picked the Riders to finish 4th in the west! But wait for it......ahead of the Bombers lol. Here is his take on the Bombers this season through his green colored glasses: Also of note is the fact that the Blue Bombers do not have a ready-made understudy to the fragile Zach Collaros, whose late-season excellence in 2019 powered the team to its first Grey Cup title since 1990. Winnipeg’s top offensive weapon, tailback Andrew Harris, is 34 and already sidelined by an injury. The Bombers’ offensive personnel, as a whole, is unremarkable. Consider, too, that Paul LaPolice is no longer the Bombers’ offensive co-ordinator. He is now the Redblacks’ head coach and, uh, good luck with that. LaPolice has been succeeded in Winnipeg by Buck Pierce, who may encounter growing pains as a first-year CFL offensive co-ordinator. So Winnipeg, from this perspective, appears to be a house of cards.

False. The answer we were looking for is: Nye is a watermelon wearing, cousin kissing jackass.
-
I see Nye is back with his weekly predictor on CFL.CA . I know youre all going to be shocked, but he's picked the Riders with 100% certainty on his confidence meter lol. And ofcourse picked Hamilton to win too. I think there was one year a while back where IIRC he picked against the Bombers every week for the entire season.

That receiving corps is stinky. Even more unproven guys than we have. Tucker, Ungerer, Marshall? And theyre all 5'10"!

Just you wait!

I think Bailey is money, just been too far down the food chain until now. Time to shine.

Posey out too.

Banks headlines TSN's Top 50 players for 2021 - CFL.ca Number 7, LMFAO

I'd say pretty slim for Adams, Harris, and Wilson. A lot of DNP for those guys over the last week+. Hope im wrong.
-
Uh oh, Willie J nursing a sore ankle and was a DNP today 😱

3DownNation contributors fearlessly predict the 2021 CFL standings | 3DownNation These guys seem to have brains, except for the two Rider fan boys Ludwig and McGuire,. 6 of the other 7 guys have the Riders last or second last in the west.

So no longer required to wear masks indoors? Bet your ass i still will be.

CFL West Division preview: Blue Bombers look to repeat after long layoff - Sportsnet.ca\ Yet another outlet that thinks were taking a step back and predicts the Riders 1st in the west lol. Were going 8-6 apparently.
-
Yup, was just about to post this lol. I could live 1000 lives and ill never understand why everyone has the Riders ahead of us. Their o-line is full of third stringers and they lost arguably their THREE best defensive players in the offseason, not to mention their big FA splash in Larry Dean to injury. How in holy f*** are they better than us?!?!

West: Bombers Elks Stampeders Lions Riders East: Tiger-Cats Alouettes Argonauts Redblacks Grey Cup: Hamilton over Winnipeg
-
Yup lol, ability my ass. The article should say "Forced to start four canadian o-linemen".
-
Man just no respect hey? Ive seen atleast four betting sites that have our Grey Cup odds 4th behind Hamilton, Calgary, and Sask, and ive actually seen one that has us 5th behind Toronto too, tied with Montreal lol. And the TSN panel(Dunigan, Sanchez, Smith, Stegall), all picked Hamilton to win and none of them even has us as runner up. Thats fine. Let us fly under the radar and win it all again. Possibly even more ridiculous is 3/4 of the TSN panel picked Masoli as league MOP lol. He's going to have the shortest leash in the league. The second he struggles or has a stinker Evans is going to be behind center.

Ive read up a bit on Nichols. He's bounced around the NFL and was impressive in the XFL, but im really intrigued by DeAundre Alford. I can literally find nothing on him in the google machine. I wonder where they found him. Impressive that at 23 he was able to beat out the other 4526 DB's in camp, some much older and with seemingly more experience.

I can see them bringing in some of the linemen bring cut. Im surprised Thaddeus Coleman hasnt been signed already.

2021 Blue Bombers Training Camp/Pre-Season Stuff

Interesting. Bauming tweeted "DBs Deatrick Nichols and DeAundre Alford look to be potential Week 1 starters". That means one of them would be starting over Josh Johnson. -

No big surprises -
My favorite was one time i remember we were playing Edmonton and he was "covering" a receiver, and as usual was in the trail position by a good 5-10 yards. The QB launches the deep ball but it gets caught up in the wind and its going to be short. The receiver slows down but then trips, and the ball hits him in the back and goes incomplete. Double D runs up beside him jumping up and down doing the incomplete pass arm signal over and over again lol. Lol, like you had anything to do with that Double D.
