We did, but we also had a more cemented KR and didnt have a proven starter at RB. If we choose to try and hide castillo, or keep 2 of the IMP des and rotate at one spot it wont be easy to also keep both rbs. That would leave us with what 4 rbs? We need the extra spots atleast for WR while its still hotly contested, DE, possibly for the OL for bond etc.

How pray tell do you throw a crossing route when not a single one is in any of the plays for either game? Hank would have tossed a ton of picks given the pressure willy faced. Willy aside, I think anderson might have played him self out of a job. Even a PR spot. He looked miserable on his returns while flanders kept on rollin. Im not sure you use a DI spot on flanders but you certainly dont get rid of him. A couple of the rookie wrs have left a pretty hard decision. The DE spot is gonna be a tough choice too. Coaching staff have their work cut out for them.

If he gets rid of the ball faster, you dont get longer passes. The yardage was similar for nichols and in the first game for both. The offense is super bland mostly outs short of the first down marker. It also has to do with an almost entirely new WR core that still isnt healthy and 3/4 of the pass catchers tnite were rookies.

he was 11/15 with no pics he got rid of the ball fine. He could release quicker but he simply did not have the time.

Yeah considering the pressure he faced and how much he got hit he didnt do poorly. Not that many people will look at it like that. A lot of short to medium routes. And not a lot of runs in the first half. 4 in the first half for harris, 6 in the 3rd quarter for flanders. Made things a lot easier for nichols.

I dont think there is much of any concern about the blue WRs this year. weve got a pretty good bumper crop goin on here.

From game one he looked really good. I could see him being ready by mid season imop. This draft could be the draft that just keeps on giving.

I actually like those two. Idk why they went soo qb crazy in the off season. Glenn backed up with cato and crompton with the canadian developing is solid.

Is he 100%? I thought he was for the start of riders camp. Would make sense if hes any thing under 100% to ease him on back. Other wise it seems strange no to play him. Heres hoping hes 100% for the season. The league is much better with the best qbs playing, and I wanna beat the riders at full strength not running on back ups. Though tbh for the last 10 years or so its seemed like back up qbs are a bigger issue for us then starters xD.

personally I dont think its a big deal in the cfl which end you rush from. A very few guys will be technically limited or have a mental hang up about coming from one side, but I dont think its any where as near a big deal as in american football where you have a strong and weak side.

But you dont need any of that to know the old saying, you cant make the club from the tub. I hope his recovery is speedy and he can show some thing finally. But at this rate he's a bad year from being out of football.

Its not just a QB thing. Youd be surprised how many wrs run a 8 yard out on a 10 yard out play, how often a qb throws during a wrs break and the wr doesnt burst out of the cut etc. Short to intermediate passes over the middle should be on the numbers. Pretty much every thing else should lead the WR. If you throw to one side or the other and put it on the numbers its liable to be a pick 6. You have to put it where it cant be picked and only the wr can get it. Thats just life in the modern cfl spread offense.

People would have said the same thin of kerwin bell his last year here. He did pretty good in a brutal offense last year. That said Its dang hard to imagine us being better then if willy is healthy and his old self. I hope he's just shaking off rust, he hasnt looked as sharp as usual. But a new system running vanilla plays and lots of changes will add to that too. And no dressler.
