  1. To beat the stamps we need to beat their protection scheme. We also need to vary looks and dont let blm get comfy. I think this game is gonna rely on how good the defensive play call is.
  2. Hes more like 6'4 and the nfl doesnt lack for big and tall qbs. His college production wasnt impressive, 18 starts over 3 years between 2 teams. Never seemed to be able to be the locked in starter for a team. His raw tools are impressive. Good accuracy and touch, he can really hit some tight windows. Good arm strength, varies his release position and length some times to get more on the deep ball or get it out quick. Release time is good. He isnt streveler, but he is a solid qb athlete. Seems too inclined to take big risks, struggles when coverage shifts hard from his pre snap read. Was working as a QC coach for central Michigan. Good bit of talk about his football IQ.
  3. Nik lewis jr, also the slowest screen pass td ever lol.
  4. We have 4 stringers that get hurt and we cant get an update at any point during the season, sask starting qb is hurt and every one knows it happened in practice, its his back and a pulled muscle.
  5. Imo we should get one in each major mall in the city.
  6. Agree, when i first listened to westwood on 1290 i was surprised how entertaining and natural he was on radio. Hes a weird dude, but all kickers are. And hes really entertaining. I loved westwood walby and edmonds.
  7. No doubt. Walby is fantastic. I love DB with bob, but before brown walby wouldve been waaay better then the likes zalnasky.
  8. + a horsecollar on grant
  9. And if it is taken into account, it has to be done evenly.
  10. 100% back in the day we used to get practice reports, and in depth TC break downs of who looked good made plays etc. What a joke. An update on gray would be big, and olivera.
  11. Honestly, I feel like the winnipeg football media need to suffer some backlash. Theyve been allowed to slide too far for too long. The extreme laziness of reporting in TC, practice, following up on injured players, and now this. Its well past time for them to stop being lazy sock puppets.
  12. This type of move would be good, but considering its media based voting I very much doubt it will happen. Baseball has needed it far more, and for far longer in the HoF voting etc. And basketball the voting for awards actually impacts how much guys can earn with out over sight or rules. I think the answer But the Hof and other such media award votes are a hot mess. As some one pointed out (note it was jpan85) on the previous page, it should be in the hands of each teams HC to nominate the award winners. Imagine if we won the GC, with out a single seasonal award winner? Or if harris was the MOP/MOC in the grey cup game? Weve been in this position before. And personally I liked Brandon dyson (as dirty a player as this league has ever seen) and kyries hebert. Im not against the guys who play on the edge and some times go over it. Should those guys be eligible for awards, even if they have rough spots during the season? If you allow them to continue to play, and they excel you gotta give it to them imo. So yes, I would give simoni lawrence east MODP, and maybe the leagues MODP.
  13. Except the tainted supplement for harris had 0 performance enhancing effect. He was clean the week before, it was a sub micro dose amount found in his system, and clean right after. Even a modern high quality steroid would do very little in that situation. For an ancient 70s bulk steroid you would very literally receive zero performance enhancing effect. The league has long been a refuge for those with this type of past so the moral stance doesnt stand up either. From Juran bolden, to ricky williams, andre rison, robert baker, Marcus thigpen and Jordan reeves, to the ton of chris jones recruits that ended nfl stints due to drugs and more.
  14. haha hes fired up like the crowd was last game. Too bad they neutered all the jeering.
  15. Thats not at all rare at qb. Calvillo, khari, it happens. Qbs face a maturing phase, and are also heavily effected by the system they are in. When had he been given a decent chance before this year to succeed? An extended run as the starting qb with an OC willing to work their system to his strengths? He didnt. Now he does. And he has success now. Remember nichols pre 2017?
  16. Imo its much easier to say how well arbuckle will do then evans. The cats system makes masoli look a lot better then he is. Arbuckle has great ball placement and tangibles as a passer. I think vaj is jennings 2.0 at worst, but the gun slinging nature of that system is a bit of an outlier too. Fajardo is no doubt better then "sucks". He has found good success and a niche in the league. They have got some thing teams struggle to defend right now. Weve seen lots of suckage at QB here, and what hes doing isnt it. If Fajardo was doing the exact same here youd be saying hes a mop front runner too.
  17. I mostly agree but at the same time I can see why the east division teams want to host both play off games. A lot of in stability financially for those teams.
  18. A lot of qbs have had 1 good season then gone to pot after defenses adjust to them. He may or may not do that itll all depend on how he adjusts. But next year is going to be much harder for him. Teams will be cheating for the timing cross route / f post, and good teams will attack him with multi level pressure packages. He destroys single layer pressures with that spin move to the left, but he hasnt shown the ability to beat multi level pressure. Of the upstart Qbs id love to see what MBT can do on a real team. I think Arbuckle will be the best of this batch. Evans is a gooder too. I think Fajardo Is better then vaj. Hes better then nichols and streveler, masoli and collaros. Even better then BLM this year. But Id take Reilly, arbuckle, and mbt over him.
  19. marvelous. He came up with 3 or 4 surgeries on those things, poor guy never stood a chance. Wouldnt loved to see him up here young and 100% healthy.
  20. no doubt he was. But matt nichols running for his life looks a lot like wade miller after he sat down too fast. And streveler couldnt make that throw on the run. I was amazed he survived the spear of death.
  21. XD similar and yet still not as good. I was gob smacked by the level of mobility and toughness ZC showed against a mean calgary team.
  22. Weve cut a TON of better DE prospects then vereen in the last 2 or 3 years too. They pretty much got rejected by Training Camp Fodder, and called out on their bs pay lmao.
  23. They roll both for an extra db. Not nearly enough of Jake out Kongbo in with Drake and Richardson. Roh is not the best pass rusher on the team he's one of the least capable of getting pressure on his own. That's why he's on the bench here for extended periods of time.
  24. 100% that screen pass kept him north south and is the difference between a first down and punting. Yeah it really shed light on how immobile Nichols has been since his injury last year in TC. I said last week Nichols was moving like an old Danny mac in the pocket and collaros really hammered that home.
  25. We mixed it early to no success then switched to the 30 front with Jake Thomas at nose which also had no success but we were rushing a lb/db a good bit. The later game d when we got Richardson back involved with heavy mix of blitzing as well as showing blitz and dropping brought lots of success. We even dropped both ends a few times which really messed up blm. That is the identity of halls d but mos has a considerable hand in our defense now too. Thomas is a tremendous rotational ni DT. But starting him takes a lot away from our lines pressure. With Nevis and Richardson inside each end has man to man blocking every snap. Calgary has answered our pressure by going 6 ol with an extra imp on the ol and using metre as an every down black who has great blocking. Our front 4 with Thomas plus 1 lber maybe another rusher isn't going to get pressure on Calgary in that set. Also willy has been heavily torn between pass rushing and playing pass lanes for knock downs. If any 30 front was gonna work against Calgary's 6+1 blocking it's Nevis at nose Richardson and Thomas at end then playing willy in a jack lber rushing from stand up and hand down from lber end inside etc and dropping back under coverage. That way we get a big push on the ol and can push the center back into the pocket. The de at nose stuff left blm with a clean pocket to easily step up into.
