2026 CFL Around The League (Not Bombers Specific)
He makes it sound like much more of an insider tip than it is; it's more of a not-so-hot hot take. What he gets right, They should've consulted coaches closely long before finalizing changes. This should've involved lower levels, and if it happened as announced, it would really screw a lot of teams and cause a lot of problems and work. I'm not a traditionalist; I believe in pursuing improvements in the game/league. If it makes the game and league better, it should change. That said, a big chunk of these changes don't stand a chance at improving anything. Where he is wrong, DAZN money will start next year. Carrier change deals like this always come with up-front cash. Now teams may want to pay off some debt and actually post a positive year for once before having to spend on these changes, but they've already locked the changes in before the deal was agreed to. Meaning they had a plan to pay for it aside from this cash winfall. The bombers don't have to rely on rider fans for sell-outs; the riders do have to rely on us. They jumped ship fast when we passed them in 19; that isn't loyal. Tradition isn't important at the cost of survival, and 1 team making a profit isn't sustainable. The league does badly need to build in a younger fan base. The problem is these changes won't do that, and it is much more of a team problem and a broadcaster problem. No way it happens? I guarantee some of the changes will go through at least. They made too big a deal out of it and have too much on the line with DAZN to just peel it all back. -You can bet the playoff format will happen. That is just free money for the teams and league. -The change of benches being on opposite ends should've always been the case. -55 yard line staying wouldn't be hard to change much. This was a silly change. -End zone depth goes hand in hand with field goals at the back. But they also work against each other. The impact of a smaller endzone will be far greater than moving the uprights. -Moving the season up, this is just bad business. More overlap with the NHL and NBA playoffs is bad. TC in freezing weather is bad. Having the end and beginning of the season in bad weather is a terrible idea. This whole deal doesn't feel like the CFL's goal. It feels like the first hard step towards the goal. I think that goal is a soft merger with the XFL. (AL vs NL in baseball back in the day style) If the league keeps the 55 yard line, they don't have to do nearly as much with the end zone. Move the upright for each game, but you can have the new small end zone with a 2nd line for the old larger one.

Bombers trade for Dru Brown
Tough to compare apples to apples when Dru was a backup and played marginally until 24, while Jake was a part-time starter at least from 22 on. Brown also had to throw to win in Ottawa a lot because of the teams they put around him. For me, the best comparison is Jake from 22-24 and Dru from 23-25. 570/827 7331 41 tds 20 ints 8.86 YPA 10 300+ games in the past 2 years (5 of those 400+) 12 since 22, 7 games more ints than tds, 6 games with 3 or more passing tds. 927/1349 10474 55tds 36 ints. 7.76 YPA 9 300+ yard games from 22-26, 12 games with more ints than tds, 5 games with 3 or more tds. Funny thing is, Dinwiddie could've said plenty of things you couldn't argue with. Drus health, experience for Maier with almost twice as many snaps in the game, even fit with both being Calgary coaching staff products (not at the same time). My biggest concerns with Brown are Health and ability to sustain a high level of play over a full season for multiple seasons. He's a touch/accuracy guy by nature and elite in those areas as well as speed at getting the ball out, but he has all the arm to throw any pass on the field. I agree. Strikes me as really strange coming from a HC in the CFL, especially a former QB. Really does sound personal.

dinwiddie sure didn’t mince words on brown lol. He clearly went into it not wanting brown and didn’t give him much of a chance to win his job back. Maier isn’t a better passer to any area of the field, browns arm is no issue. Jake’s best game is at best a mediocre outting for brown.

Bombers trade for Dru Brown
You know, strevys energy would be a real match with what tsn tries to do in its cfl presentations. His insight as a recent player would be a big upgrade for them. They could use him a ton of different ways too.

2026 Bombers Season
old school football, wind sprints till you puke. Not literally in this era, but a hard day like that is all the tougher for an older team.

That’d be good. I think they only help we will see along the dl will be from with in the league.

2026 Bombers Season
Yep. Unfortunately, I don’t see any remote options to improve talent in the secondary or dl. At lber, we are soo banged up idk if we really have great options there either. It’s becoming more and more rare in today’s cfl to find those highly successful airlifts mid season. Too many guys sit in the nfl bubble and will go to the xfl to get film if they don’t get looks. Coming up here, making all the adjustments to the game, getting a spot and playing 1/2 a season then facing the option year just isn’t the draw vs getting a couple weeks pr pay. I’ve said it before, and it would never happen under this leadership, but I would’ve revoked travel home during the bye week and had practice. Even though you can’t have meaningful contact you can still drill movement and re action into the dirt. Especially when the secondary struggles as bad as we did vs hamilton. You can drill coverage and to an extent, run fits.

Lock of the Week 2026: Week 4
Perkins. I don’t have the heart to go with rankin but he’s gotta be a fantasy favourite this week.

2026 Bombers Season
I’m glad pressure is off TE and he won’t have to be forced into action this year. It’s for the best. Next years camp is gonna be crazy watching him and brown go at it. Smith back in but no other changes. We are purely banking on improved execution and adjustments off the bye week. Don’t love it, but also don’t see the answer to fixing the D in roster moves that are readily available. The coaches need to earn their keep this week. Us at home off a bye week has been a struggle in the past.

There are words, but not the equal of racial epithets thatve been used on subjugated minorities. Honky has meaning to some one i’m sure, but it doesn’t have any power to make people feel maligned. Many of the white derogatory terms come from other white people. We’ve both been to places in the southern us where you palpably feel the difference. We have the awareness and diverse experience to recognize it. But we’ll never know how that feels for the other side. Even in places where we are not welcome or out of place for racial reasons. The experience of growing up in that, and it being over top of you and all like you for generations with countless atrocities under its belt, just isn’t understandable from the outside side. Similarly, attempts to replicate it just aren’t the same.

It isn't a parallel, and there isn't one for white people that is.
