  1. That would make sense, but every year it’s another guy starting at a position they wouldn’t even get to back up on other teams. Difference is this year that those bodies are more familiar and multiple.
  2. Yeah, it’s a big deal having him back. It will allow roadhouse to be more of a run open catch and run guy. He’s good at 50/50 but lawler is the best at it. Same with Sheed. I bet we see a huge difference in average gain on second down, and completion % on passes 15 or deeper.
  3. He was huge here in 21 for making big plays on second down. That 20-25 yard deep out and the shallow sting concept was money.
  4. And they haven’t been the only team to do that to him this year.
  5. 01 bombers won 10 in a row after being 2-2 with back to back losses. But we would pack it in for the last two if we did have a win streak. If we righted the ship I could see 14-4, though one of those games is vs edm so I guess 15 wins is possible lol. again too. Every team should have a buy in each third of the season or with in 6 weeks have a 9/10 day gap week. Large gaps between byes combined with short turn around games 4-5 days between and 3/10ish is a real problem with an 18 game schedule.
  6. The question is will we make those tweaks. Tbh I’m not optimistic.
  7. He leads the league in receiving and WRs don’t sophomore slump in the cfl. They improve in the second year.
  8. Idk. On one hand I don’t see us losing back to back and a home game after such an embarrassing collapse. That said I wouldn’t have seen us with two pathetic loses on the season little on in the first third. It’s either a ton setter for a turn around game or it’s going to be a catastrophic collapse game. I’d be more worried about a trap game if it was in edm and if they had just fired jones. That trap game is more likely to be week 10 imo.
  9. You don’t blanket guys any more. You can’t. Especially with the hash mark move but even before that, the spread offence with 5 targets on this wide field you don’t shut guys down. And in halls system even more so, you play off and then come up to make a play. Be it tackle, knock down, or pick.
  10. Most of the teams don’t know if they can win with their starters, or know they can’t. If we protect collaros he’s still the same mop.
  11. Him less than most, especially due to the fact he had soo few good passes to him. A lot of junk QBs he played with. WRs drop passes, dbs get beat, lbers miss tackles, etc the best of them have a short memory and a great hunger for success.
  12. Yep. Too many vet days off and passes for poor performance. Clearly the room does not hold it self accountable. Other wise we wouldn’t have seen a bc type game after the gc little on the ott collapse after both.
  13. His garbage is still better than the best game of the year for most QBs in this league.
  14. ROFL I’d kind of like to see him go to ott.
  15. When you find as many ways to lose as we did, no lead is safe.
  16. Houston isn’t a problem for sure. And when the secondary sees turn over, has to cover more in the run game and isn’t getting off the field you see what we saw the last couple of games. When BA first went to S in 19 it was a drastic impact on a tremendously talented secondary that had struggled even more so.
  17. I think one change at a time to each problem area would be a good start. I wouldn’t take holm off the active roster currently. If ba doesn’t get back to what he’s done in the past id look at either flipping ni (not ideal) and starting two imp dts jake goes off the active a together, or try swaray/holm at S. I’d bring back one injured db or Mohamed, either Cole at wil or kyrie, a nose on the roster, Eli in at C. Following that if we under perform I’d make another round of changes and cut some vets. Walker has had two really good games in a row. But even if he’s sayles quality right now we need a nose full time. Not a guy in the nose position but a guy who can collapse the C and cancel both A gaps with regularity. he does cal didn’t muck about with guys who don’t perform. I think a veteran getting cut is the message this team needs right now. Nailed it. Though C has been an issue a lot. When teams play a nose or kola has to call out adjustments and blitzes hand off stunts etc he falters.
  18. Mos is very much in the mould of Dave ritchie. Who I love but his down fall here and with other teams was very similar to what we see this year. The thing that separates long term great coaches from coaches that don’t last is the ability to move on from good players on the wrong end of their career. Buono, and the don are classic guys who would hesitate to replace an aging vet with a young player if it made their team better. Belicheck, to Walsh even to other sports. If you ride veterans to the point that when you let them go no one else signs them, you’re on a sinking ship.
  19. A lot of talk about different dbs being bad this year. And each guy has had highs and lows. Some like Darby more lows than highs. The young guys in general have our performed the old guys. But the guy that stands out to be me is BA. He hasn’t been remotely the same since his injury. He’s gotten too much into the habit of selling out for hits, but he went from an elite deep cover guy to none existent. We are having to play dbs in run fits more than ever because we don’t have a nose. But even in pure pass calls he can’t seem to get over to help on deep shots. Instead of getting in on the wr or the ball to make a play, he at best gets into the trail position and doesn’t provide much cover help. Last night I saw him give up a couple times from behind where he would’ve been able to run into the back end of plays and make score saving tackles in the past. Maybe he’s struggling with the adjustments, maybe he’s not healthy. But he went from the straw that stirs the drink in our secondary to ineffective in pass coverage. And I’m not talking about ranging half or the whole field. He’s not getting into position from with in his third or less.
  20. If he comes back this year he shouldn’t since he’s under contract this year to the Leo’s. If he hit the fa market he could get an even crazier deal. That said I don’t think we see rourke any time soon. I’d say very little chance in the next 3 years. Streveler is fairly likely in the next year or two imo. Does the league need to incentivize qb development some how? Do they need to raise the cap and create a qb cap so the position has a floor and an even higher cap to try and lure away more of the top none nfl guys? If not those things the league needs to do some thing.
  21. Yeah. And some ab normal misses with accuracy from Zach. The accuracy is likely a cause from the sacks and hits. The drops idk. This group shouldn’t drop many like that. we found ways to lose this game. All of the ways. But we don’t know how healthy Zach is, and if the ol isn’t changed fast we probably won’t have Zach healthy when we need him, again.
  22. Yeah. Trade for kongbo and have him rotate with Lawson as the ni. Jake is past it. Kola never had it. Neuf is past it. We got some other long in the tooth vets too but not as bad. Bennett should sit pr till next tc. He needs a big step forward to be a cfl player. What’s really sick is this team has been punched in the mouth hard twice in 6 games and folded up like a cheap lawn chair in a hurricane. Just like the grey cup. I could be fine with us just being old and stores bare after the run. But for a team this talented to be this flat, fat, lazy, and sassy is a piss off.
  23. Or atleast protect the ball and put up some first downs.
  24. Nice guy coaches tend to have a limited half life. Once things get to the point where old Guys are long in the tooth and short on performance either the nice guy has to be put away or things will get much worse quickly. That made don Mathew’s career. Easy weeks as long as you win. Underperform and the don shows up and kicks some ass. I would have the team in for as much practice and film as the cba allows this week. And I would have the vets in pads and on the side line. Make them watch while young guys take their spot. One vet I’d cut right now, three Id bench for sure vs edm no matter how the young guys practice. One young guy I’d send to the pr and another vet or two would be in real risk of going home. Which is fine. If some one else will be the bad cop. Miller or walters should walk into that locker room tear some guys new ass holes.
