Yeah but it’s early and they have haven’t had a bye. Seems like Toronto has had two already. End of the year I think we top it all. -

Consistent pressure has been an issue. But with our returnees I don’t expect that to be an issue. I think we have a strong chance to lead the league in sacks and pressures and knock downs. -

I loved hines too but a lot of illegal blocking rules evolved out of him taking guys out with blind side hits. Like the one on ed reed. -

Good they can have him If I was the riders or a bunch of other teams I’d be calling up walters offering a vault for Dobson. He’s ready to take a big step forward. -

Yeah probably. I can’t imagine he gets less interest than strevy. I’m just tired of some teams having dumpster QBs like ott and edm -
Doesn’t seem like targeting/spearing has been a priority for the league to call at all this year. The over the pile spear is a tough one to call. Because the offensive player will do the exact same if they are close or the end zone or first down but short. Trying to submarine is worse too imo. It’s it’s people don’t see it and don’t worry about dts and centres like they do QBs. Idk how you make it better with out making short yardage truly instant. Other than adding yet another quirky abuseable difficult to manage rule like taking the yard off the ball away inside the 5 or on 3rd down.

With mccrae and sweeps yeah. Not with Brady. Though buck has certainly been more adventurous with run design this year. Luckily we haven’t seen more of the suicide sweep toss. it’s a whole lot different than when plop was running the offense. 100% agree on Bailey. They let him read his own block frequently and he seldom if ever disappoints. I loved schoen getting the lead block off sweep motion in a counter trey run too. If blocks / pancakes for WRs were counted he’d probably be an all star last year. He’s like a none dirty hinse ward. -

Then hit the upright? Have his wr not win a 50/50 battle? Then cry face down on the field? Sorry I’d die of shock if any thing else happened. I almost want rourke to come back so vaj gets traded to ham or ott. -

More so if you’re running read option but yes. Then that’s the tackle skipping to the second level the majority of the time. sounds like a midzone concept. taking advantage of their inside leverage and general aggression while sealing the play side as the dl take them self out of the play. It’s gotta be really hard for hs and younger especially to defend. I love the mid / wide / outside zones wish we saw more of it the cfl on a regular basis. Teams are just soo locked in on tight/inside/belly. -

I know, and the ol that is heads up to his man is the guy who stays at the line. With no one heads up you double and go to the second level. In the cfl you are 5 on 4 for the majority of run plays so only one ol is going to the next level unless you bring in heavy set. And even in heavy set you see teams play a 4-3 over putting a lber on the line most of the time. -

Kai locksley to Hamilton. It’ll be interesting to see how they use him. -

When grays assignment is double some one else’s man and skip to the second level he excels. When it’s his man not soo much. In pass pro he hasn’t been nearly as good with out couture at C. He is however phenomenal as the 6th ol on the edge working with either tackle and that virtually always either has him on some one much smaller or as the double and skip to second level guy. -

Gauthier would likely be blocking down on a db in the box. It’s not like he’d be taking on a dt. If not Augustine, Demski is a great blocker and could run it too. Eli at 100% has excellent mobility. But he might not be at 100% yet. He makes kola look like bob Wylie. -

Imo the line would be better with eli at C for kola and Dobson at g for gray with gray going back to 6th ol. I think gray is just much better on the edge than at guard. Hardrick was the same way. It isn’t common but some guys just are much better at T than G. We did use him at hback in one set Vs mtl. It was kinda meh but small sample size. Id put Eli at C Dobson at G and gray at te then a guy like gauthier at fb. With how our WRs block good luck stopping that run game. fun side note for the first time in over a decade the nfl saw an increase in FB use last year. that’s always a key in any ol. Give them enough reps to beat up the dl and don’t have them trying to block for 4-5 seconds for a bomb 10+ times a game. When we get caught up too much in deep down field passing we stagnate the offense. I think exume was pushed into action late in two games but yeah Kelly had more un interrupted reps for sure. maruo seems to free lance too much. He isn’t lane disciplined. Pretty sure that’s why he got benched last year. -

Idk I like what Kelly has showed so far. Though we did deploy exume for maybe a game or two in spot duty at field corner in the past. Isn’t it one with the second coming for an imp still? Karamoko would be a lot better to roster especially with exume back. But I guess that makes too much sense. I really wish the rosters were a bit larger. I think the league would be much better off with say 2 more ni spots 1 more da and maybe an optional extra global. -

Fantastic moves. I wonder how our roster shakes out now though. I don’t see Hallett or Kelly coming off. They love Kramdi but he’s the one I’d take off. In that case though we really need a DA db to be an extra cover guy. Maybe we run 1 global and take maruo off for beeksma? -

Idk if one or two players were available that would’ve made a big difference on D. A lot of guys resigned early. Besides lawler on that bread and butter deep out adds a huge wrinkle to our attack. -
Said some thing about medical issues. Guess he’s on the 6 game too. Hopefully he’s better soon. They haven’t done it yet this year. And didn’t do it each week last year. It sucks that was their best piece by a lot.

To be fair injuries are not the same as legal issues. One is a private matter one is a matter of public record. Some value exists in giving athletes privacy when it comes to injuries. It can protect them from cheap shots designed to knock them back out etc. but try to find another pro league where you don’t get that info. To an extent this reduction in privacy comes from getting to make very good money playing a game for a living. Cfl guys don’t make that great money, so it’s understandable to give them more privacy. But zero updates until they are on the field or the season is over is bad for the game. -
Out side of the dirty stuff I don’t care soo much how they define it and make calls. As long as it’s consistent. Problem is the enforcement is wildly different from game to game and even drive to drive. No one wants to see pi or holding calls on every play. And few people want the game to be lawless. But I’ve seen more horribly reffed games this year than last year. Not just screwing up one drive or one type of call. But calls of all types have been horrible. the command centre has improved a considerable bit the last two years. The reffing seems worse. The league needs to make the refs full time and paid. Have them train year round and work with crews at all levels.

Yeah, you always get called for the response too. Too bad though Bailey looked like he was short out of a cannon on that one. They really need to simplify things. It’s gettin to be as bad as the nba salary cap. I love the global program, though I’d like to see it grow to more than just kickers and punters.
-
Cole was really good on kick cover though. With lawler back we can certainly use teams help more than another weapon on offence. A lot of roster rebalancing to happen too.
-
Physical and quick but got eaten up in coverage a few times. Needs more seasoning. Ideally he would be pr or a da dime while learning. Love his open field tackling. He’s a sure tackler and still makes WRs pay. I’d love to see him get reps on kick cover. His speed plus physicality would be tremendous. I wonder if long term he’s a S. with that tool set he sure would fit in. Ba is only 29 so could be lots of life left in him but always good to have a back up plan. Hopefully soon we can get lawler, the goat, the 3 dbs, Hansen, and kyrie back. I want to see this squad at 100%.

Or run the clock down properly in the final minutes.
