  1. Jauch is a massive score. Very happy with that pick up. Deslauriers is a sneaky good pick up. Im expecting he will lead the canadian scouting. Sunderland is a kind of polarizing guy, thats a big surprise to me. Edit, All 3 get the title of Senior Director of Player Personnel.
  2. Not just that. But not having any one in Teds Ast Gm spot. I really hope not, but I kind of worry we will. It's a big off season litmus test imo. How well and prudently we will the OC and front office spot. The rest of the coaching staff could be rounded out later. And the front office spot doesn't need to be an ast gm, but we need some one in that role. FA and the majority of rookie signings is a ton of work for the front office. We need all hands on deck. https://3downnation.com/2025/01/10/hamilton-tiger-cats-add-three-to-front-office-staff/ We just lost Cyril Penn to hamilton. Ted scooped him to be the new director of player personnel. That hurts. He has huge upside.
  3. Pretty much. Great to have that guy in the room too. Yep. Hes also the most physical DB on our roster, maybe the most physical and imposing guy on our whole D. He's not physically big at all, but he's an outlier like Grant. Just built different. Runs around smashing WRs and Rbs. He was damn good at Sam, and If he gets back to his old self he could be a prime candidate for a long term S replacement for BA. I feel like after last year, BA could play half again. But the physical side is just too much of a struggle for him to be S or in the run fits. Maybe another off season he gets even healthier and that changes. But it's hard to see happening at his age.
  4. Low risk, High reward move. He's still like 26 or 27. Hasn't started in an age. But such a beast. I'd love to see him healthy and back to his old form. I have no expectations at this point though.
  5. He was, but I'm more talking about a camp shot. Not an immediate departure for part of the nfl season that overlaps. Some guys get an insane amount of chances and looks, especially at QB and KR. I can't count how many times guys cut and who didn't cut it up here go and get another NFL shot. Position depth plays a bit of a role in that, a long with a bunch of other factors. Soo many, it almost seems random some times. Oh this db who can't cover man is going to get 8 nfl TCs, 2 years on the PR and a hand full of games.
  6. It's true. Normally, such a dominant season, little on two, would propel you into another chance. He's more deserving than pookie. But I'll be more than happy to have him play his career here.
  7. Strange move. I can get not trusting stanback with blocking. Butler is a better fit for what buck wants to do clearly. But quality wise he just isn’t there.
  8. He does though. He might be quicker than kupp. That was the same knock on all 3. And frankly he is the best tester out of all 3 by a lot.
  9. Agree 1000%. I feel like Wilson is an over achiever. Which isn’t a bad thing, but I don’t think he has another step to take in progression. Clercius is a guy I really want to see take a step. If he does he could be a big win for us. Really good at a lot of the little things, catches every thing, and I don’t think Demski has a lot of high level play left in him. Wilson had almost as much chance down south as schoen had, before Wilson got this deal. Wilson now is gonna have more opportunity. That’s just not true. The nfl has seen many guys in the last decade with the same skill set and athleticism as schoen or worse who succeeded at a high level. The rams alone have been using the Cooper kupp/ puka nacua inside and out over the past several years in the exact same ways we use schoen, with the same skill set and athleticism. I mean it’s the jets. They’re the TCF of the nfl in the first place. I think that’s how it’ll go down. We’ve seen a few fringe guys up here at wr get nfl deals kick around back n forth and change teams up here. I don’t see some one lining up to give up 200k or close to it.
  10. White zombie for sure. Which is all time great.
  11. I’d love that but I bet after another year or two down south he will be back and as a hc no less.
  12. Hes the REAL teflon don. Nothing could keep chris jones out of football.
  13. I mean, this is the quietest month of the year on here. Nothing much happens in january. It's all waiting for news now. I hear if you say lyle bauers name in the mirror 3 times he will appear...
  14. That does happen. Especially in Canada, we seem to like those players more than most us based pro teams. That said there are guys who bring serious value to their team off the court. The classic example for me is sir Charles with the young Vince Carter raptors. Players have the ability to hold team mates accountable to a level that coaches just can’t reach any more. Some positions also are more demanding of leadership. Safety/mlber, centre, and of course qb. Ed reed was as prolific as a leader as a player. for us guys like Bailey, hardrick, and biggie have been extremely important just in terms of leadership.
  15. Wow that’s gigantic for bc. I’d a started that conversation with a first rounder and players if I was Toronto. Could be. Don’t really have tons of leverage in the cfl especially at 30 years old and under contract. I’d love to hear more from the Toronto end.
  16. Some interesting comments from Neuf on his media availability. Must watch especially for the off season. lots of interesting questions and responses. Not nearly the usual tight lipped stuff we see. cited the injuries combined with the amount of turn over on the ol leading to the struggles they saw early. Not getting to practice and have a camp beside Lofton, Liam’s adjustment to starting, and the injuries that put him back out and Bryant’s scare. Definitely sounds like he forced it back early and wasn’t ready and probably should’ve been shut down much sooner. Also mentions that guys need to get that continuity going early in camp shaking the rust off and not the season. In response to opportunity to improve with change he seems excited and positive about having some change though missing buck and Bourgoin.
  17. Is Allen a pending free agent or some thing? That seems like really low value for Toronto doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Huge get for bc.
  18. That’s odd. Wonder if they have the offers out and just waiting to finalize new hires? If not that’s a really strange choice a month out from free agency.
  19. He might well take it. If he has the kind of 2nd year step forward most guys do who showed well as a rookie, it’ll be hard to keep him off the field. That said I don’t want us to lose Dobson. He was drastically better after the first third or so. Tons of up side and great football in front of him. That said I wouldn’t give him a big pay day. And I could see some one else over paying Dobson. it’s gonna be a hard year for teams to improve their ols with Canadian talent. Kola is the big one we need to move on from. Not holding my breath. Other wise, we should look long and hard at flipping ratio and bringing in more high quality imports who are actual tackles. Also, with the age of half our ol, and injury concerns the last couple years we really need 6-7 starting ol to get through the whole season. I’d also still use as late a pick as possible on Eric schon. Even though he retired, if he ever changes his mind his rights are worth risking a 6th or later in.
  20. He’s 36 with 134 games played. Only 5 games behind big Stan. Hes high on the short list of oldest and most experienced position players in the league. Keep in mind he had injury issues his whole career. Hes played 18 games just twice in his career. 7 times he’s played 12 games or less, 6 of those 8 games or less. 6 years he’s played 14 games or more, and that includes last year where he was abysmal for more than half the year. As far as years he’s played great and the majority of the games, you’re talking just 3 seasons here. He might have more hard miles on him, more wear n tear than any one else in the league. I think it’s very likely his peak form this year will be equal to his best play last year. But I also think he has close to no chance to play more than 2/3rds or the year, and a coin flip when it comes to how many of his games are good or bad.
  21. All good points. We really need change and growth on the ol. But more and more I feel we will sleep walk into camp with the same depth chart as last year. With maybe losing Dobson in free agency and replacing him with Wallace the only some what likely change.
  22. And neuf resigns for his 12th season as a bomber. Boy he needs to play the year at the post injury level. We can’t afford to see him run out in that first half of the season turnstile mode again.
  23. Reality says it. Being half staffed says it. Mos and Walters even talked about how it was just the two of them doing the end season surf because of un certainty up front. You know the role assistant gms and COs play in free agency right? Or franchise stability with established vets. It’s been discussed previously in years where teams have failed to lock in their front office and staff and those off seasons for other teams have been catastrophic. From here, to local and national media.
  24. If we don’t have our front office and coaching staff vacancies filled before February 11th, it’s gonna look bad and hurt us in free agency. Both retention and attracting free agents. And it is no longer enough for us just to retain most of our fre agents. We need to be adding pieces again.
