Evan Holm doesn’t have a contract? Betts is a pending free agent and Holm isn’t. Why would a free agent be more restricted? In the CFL sure. You just described his whole role. He isn’t doing that in the NFL.

Look at the teams making all the signings. The worst teams in the league. We signed the two best players on the market at less than market value. Relax, it is February 11th.

I don’t care if he tries it if not. He clearly didn’t get anywhere near the offer he thought he would and is willing to be a camp body for no pay. There was zero talk about him getting any work outs or having any interest from the NFL up until the negotiation window. He’s probably getting offered 200k - which I still wouldn’t do- and knows that will still be available in May from someone.

Not believing he is good enough to play in the NFL isn’t clowning on him.

This Betts thing sounds like him using Farhan to try and drive up interest and increase offers. Clearly not many people checking in with what he is asking for.

He’s too small, too slow in my opinion. He can beat guys with a yard off the ball out of the set off the line in the CFL. He is not doing that down south. I’ll eat crow if he makes even a PR. But I have zero worry about doing so.

I don’t think he has the speed or tackling ability to play that spot either, he will get rag dolled and trucked.

Betts is too small and not powerful or fast enough to make it down south. If he wants to be a camp body then enjoy.

We have done this for at least the last two years with Jeffcoat - he hasn’t been able to stay healthy. His hip was bad from the jump last year. He isn’t getting any younger and doesn’t seem to be getting healthier. I hate it - but this just reality.

The uncertainty actually cap management- not to mention the roster in general. Also - we didn’t have 6 meaningless games mid-late season and you sure as hell can’t plan for that.
