  1. #Blackhawks Carcillo:"It was just kind of a hockey play and it was at the end of a shift. I must have just caught him between some padding."

    — Brian Hedger (@BrianHedger)

    January 17, 2015

Sure its a hockey play, but it is an illegal one.  It is called cross checking.  And he did it to Perreault at the end of a play where it wouldn't normally be expected.  Unfortunate for Carcillo, but they suspend based on the result and reputation.  He has a bad reputation and the result was he took Perreault out for at least that game.

    That guy is an idiot.

Our player or not...that was a dbag play by a dbag of a player. He should get 5 for crap like that.

  2.

Save percentage is irrelevant. Jets won the game. Stop reading In to stats. 2 goals on a 5 on 3 and then 5 on 4 pp.

This post deserves a face palm.

Are you Hutch's dad? I love hutch. But seriously chill out. It's okay to be critical of aspects of a performance without being a hater. This sort of nonsense hampers quality discussion on this site.

Another thing that hampers a good discussion is when some folks have no middle ground. Not everything is black or white sometimes things are gray.

Your post about having 2 starters and now having 2 back ups kinda shows that there is no middle ground.

Sometimes starters have bad games no? Does that mean they should no longer be a starter?

I'm really quite shocked that my tongue in cheek post went over people's heads. Hutch has cooled off significantly since earlier this season and every time he plays his stats regress. I have great in confidence in him and want him to win but it's the truth.

On the other hand pavs played great last game and was ripped by people. Stats are a tool not the end all. But in general we are not getting consistent clutch goaltending from either guy. When the team plays the way they can you don't need clutch. You just need good  But this team has proven many times to have a delicate psyche.

    That's my point. That's it.

I'm hopeful they breath a sigh of relief from last night and come out strong and stay strong tonight.

    Fair enough.

But then again you kinda show what im saying about no middle ground when you say things like...."  But this team has proven many times to have a delicate psyche. "

They also showed they can come back and play strong after a brain fart to win a game against a very good team.   No?

    Middle ground

We went from having two starting goalies to two back up goalies.

And this post sums up perfectly the schizophrenic mentality of the average Winnipeg sports fan. Either way too high or way too low.

Agree.....  not to much middle ground with some people....  its either real good or real bad.

Weird way to look at things

  5.

Burke overpaid for Kessel and then forced him to be the #1 guy on the team... same thing would happen if we tried to build a team around Kane or Wheeler and a bunch of truculent grinders.  As soon as Lupul is down, Kessel has no one to work with.

Leafs have a crap roster, don't give prospects time to develop and trade picks for 'character players'... that's not Kessel's fault.

Get's a like for the phase "truculent grinders".

I've got to learn an instrument so I can start a band and name it that.

Your old married and have a kid....

Good luck with that band idea tho......  LMAO.

Ever watch "The Partridge Family" Mud?

    haha     Yuppers.

Good call bud..... Just please dont send out anymore Danny Bonaduces into the world.  Ones enuff.

    Thanks in advance        ;)

  7. Is there a consensus pick among the smart guys here of who would be the better DC?

Im not very smart at all but id think its what kind of D you prefer ...

Mike Benevides  runs a more aggressive system.... Richie Hall  runs a more layed back bend dont break kinda system.

Id take Bene just because i like a more aggressive type D but im sure either will do fine and a better then Etch.

  8. Carlyle and the Jets seem to just miss each other.  He'd be a great addition to our coaching staff but he will get a HC job and that isnt available in Winnipeg nor will it be for some time.

Ya i agree... he will get another HC gig pretty quick, But i wonder if he may want some time out of that spotlight.

  9. I dont think we have done so bad the last bit considering we lost our top 4 D and then lost a forward ( Buff ) because we had to move him to D. Thats alot of guys all at once. Now we loose Kane also.

We lack in depth forsure right now and its going to show because we are hurting big time.

Im concerned because to fall out of spot can be quick and im jus hoping we can keep up.

I will say that any team that looses the players like we have had to deal with would hurt any team and set them back.

  10. You do realize that not have ANY control over player personnel and not having FULL control are 2 different things right?  What Gbill said is different to what you first stated.  O'Shea is not saying that they're not going to listen to the requests or the suggestions of the OC/DC.

I know and i just said i used the wrong word saying ANY.

And i posted what O'Shea said.

O'Shea said DC will have to fit the personnel, to a point: "You can?t have a guy come in and change everybody around you." #Bombers

#bombers O'Shea says new DC will not have free rein to make player personnel decisions in going forward

Interesting nugget I just thought of. Didn't the Riders cut Kuale while Hall was DC? If Hall already knows how terrible Kuale is, I might finally get my wish of no more Kuale!

Except O'Shea has said OC/DC will no longer have any say on players going forward.
lol are you serious?? O'Shea did not say this. He said coordinators don't have full control over personnel decisions.

    Thats what i said.

No that's not what you said.

Have problems reading?  Look at it.

Did he not say that his OC/DC wouldnt have a say in player personal going forward? He didnt want everyone changing around him?

Of course some guys will go and some will come in... that happens all the time to every team.

You said "OC/DC will no longer have any say on players going forward".  That's just not true and is not what O'Shea said.

O'Shea said they won't have full control.  Big difference.

Allowing them to have full control in the first place is a bad idea   no?

Im sure you want them to have some say in it but full control?

What grade education do you have...seriously?  I'm done with this conversation.

    LMAO....  Your asking me.  ha

I would think you are taking that too literally.

Well im sure he can make some moves.... But from what he said he doesnt want everyone changed around him.

Why would he say it then?

The racism card. Nice. We have no Affirmative Action in the CFL as it isn't needed. I don't know about your room but there's no elephant in mine. I could care less if our DC is white, black, latino, mulatto or the Little Green Man From Mars. As long as he is the best coach for the job as well as a great coordinator no one cares about skin colour.

Discussing races does not = racism.

Don't agree. How can it not be? Gcn11 thinks hiring a black DC will attract more black players. To me that's racism. Some black players may gravitate towards a black defensive coordinator, sure. But it could also be said that there are some white players who would gravitate towards a white defensive coordinator. If you asked the Bomber defensive players who'd they want as their new DC I'm thinking that most would say anyone as long as he is a good coach that gives them a much better chance to win. I think skin colour would be way down on the list of qualifications. At least I hope it would. And for the record, whenever I think of Ritchie Hall, I never think of his skin colour. I always think of him as a darned good defensive coordinator in this league for years first & foremost.

What made you even think of mentioning racism gcn11?

Actually, saying a black coach may appeal to black players isn't a racist statement.

    But I also don't think it's a correct statement.

Part of Richard Harris's appeal to many of the young black players was that he was an absolute mammoth human being with a spirit to match, and the epitome of a father figure, something a lot of them didn't grow up with (according to the legendary Jim Brown).

Those traits are far more important than skin tone.

Now does Richie Hall have it? I don't know....

So id ask if its racist for black players wanting to play for black coaches?

I really hope non of this matters
