So since a few like to rip on Helle and think he's not good. . Let's play a fun little game of who am I.  

My first NHL season. I played 41 games and had a .920 save percentage 
My Second NHL season over 52 games .905 save %
My  3rd NHL season over 41 games .912 save % 

Who AM I?  

For Comparison sake Helle played 26 games last year with a .918 save percentage

This year ... 17 games and a .915 save percentage

Yup, would have put up the sv% but couldn't find it for all years. The guy was a winner right out of the gate.

He played 7 full seasons and a small part of another and had a winning percentage of .600. He also won six Stanley cups, a Calder Trophy, a Conn Smythe Trophy and five Vezinas. Think about his awards considering his time in the game and his winning percentage. In my eyes the best goalie of all time.

Ken Dryden?

Yup...didn't want to mention his 6 games at the end of his first season...too much of a giveaway. Was an integral part of one one of the best teams ever assembled.

Amazing numbers for sure especially in that Era.  Dryden. 

So many goalies from past eras with incredible numbers. Terry Sawchuck had sick numbers 

One of the all time best and a local too. The last time he won the Vezina was 14 years after the first ti me he won it!

Sad, sad story though.

 

Dryden was drafted by Boston but what is it about the Habs pulling all star goalies out of their azzes all the time?

Price Roy Dryden Vachon Plante Durnan..........they drafted Tony Esposito too.

Roy was picked from a draft pick the Jets traded to MTL.
