  1. Strev would be perfect for an option QB but like others say...more an amateur scheme for various reasons..mainly lack of skill/talent at key positions. An especially good scheme to hide oline issues or lack of big talented mailers...much like u seen a lot back in day with the veer
  2. The thing about or ends..all of them can play inside..and play well there..and look how many fronts we have shown this year with al DE's..and have stuffed the run..and got pressures
  3. Nullify him..Harris romps free. Nullify Harris..big holes for Streveler..or others..that's the thing with a very strong QB runner..you have to pick your poison and even then..winning against it is a tall order. Also Strev doesnt run like a typical QB.. and that is a huge factor too..and really his threat of getting hurt is no more than Harris or any other RB unless teams take cheap shots when he down or in a pile. He runs and inflicts the hits..punishes and runs with a purpose..QB'S generally run to get away..escape..and are looking to get down..or not looking to make the initiating contact..thus why many get hurt..this is key
  4. Strev has the prototypical short arm delivery..many have had it and once he gets comfortable and settles in..he will be fine..I have noticed already in practice and a lot in his limited repair he has worked on his platform.. and pocket set up..from last year. That was his one major knock coming out of college.. and that's totally coachable .and was/is due to his instinct to take off too soon..his coach in college even commented once they got that settled he was lights out..so it will occur here too. Let's give him another game or two..more practice with ones and a game with no wet field before we say he can..or cannot be a passer...
  5. Let Choke Harris have the MOP on glorified stats...I'd rather Andrew Clutch Harris be awarded the Grey MOP
  6. I think Jefferson and Rose are the most impactful FA signings by far...and our 2019 draft picks as well are tops in the league this bgg year..making most impact. And back to last night..Ol Willie J almost had a pick six to go with the other stats..
  7. Dont profess to be all ens all..just a perspective from a different place..and a bit of tidbits from people in the know and will in the game. Btw..Kongbo''s "injury" was a nutshot..lol...heal to the onions
  8. Oh boy.. they gonna love that over there..u bunch of what were u called.."nutlickers"?? Lol
  9. And biggie is looking more like himself each game too...scary
  10. I wondered too if the rotation hampered him..our was souring him at all...whatever they have been doing to him last 5 games or so continue on
  11. Time to hand Willie a pen...to sign that extension on his next 2 years. He said prior to season that he signed a one yr to see how it goes..and if it would be a good fit and like it here..seems to me those boxes have been checked off
  12. Moving forward to not use his strengths..as well as the teams (which is the run game) as your focus is foolish. Even when a team expects..and knows we are going to..we still gouge them for 200 yards almost with big T.O.P...that's how we are built...and come Nov that's where your games are won. The passing game..and him being more comfortable and less run dependent will come as the starts pile up...but as we continue on...if it ain't broke..why fiddle with it
  13. Those fans are gonna pump up our d..I can really see Willie going off on them..he knows that line and if he toyed with the Esks line..the Sask one will be in big trouble
  14. Hansen is opening eyes..he's strong as fack and his push on the oline is impressive...he penetrates into the QB's face more often than not. Kongbo as well..disruptive and gets numerous hurries each game and flushes out the QB to his linemates..and also is good on the run stopping..and pursuit..he has been coached well and it's obvious....McAllister too got a lot of pressure and made the key tip..get him more reps and look out...and just think..this line will get Jeffcoat back...scary...and this line play is a result of Mr Drake and that firehydrant..beasts
  15. All and all a good game..and actually a perfect set up for ongoing ones really. Firstly hard to make a true assessment.. 3 drops..wet conditions.. and a tough defense to have first go around with..we wont have to deal with that now again until prob the CGY games. Teams now are gonna really have to prep for the runs..and options..and its gonna be tough for them..especially when we start to add in jet sweeps and other runs..we ran basic draws..off tackles..and the read option.. pretty simple stuff..but I think its a set up for future games..not showing all our cards with Sreveler as starter so to speak...and this alone is gonna end up opening the passing game. If we didnt go away from the ground and pound part way into the third quarter I think we may have actually ran away with it..but went back to it in 4th and pretty much controlled the game after that. We win as a team..defence and ST and if offence doesnt cough it up..will win most..even though EDM had big offensive numbers they only got I think 4 more first downs...T.O.P was pretty much even..yet we orchestrated more offensive TD drives and pretty much held the lead the whole game after edm initial FG...I can live with that..and the beauty of it all..even if we drop next 2 games now..we will still be in first..but I can smell a Rider sweep..Fajardo is gonna be in for a tough task..one I dont think he can manage
  16. Kabongo is getting better and better..was a force all night again too
  17. It's not even that big..195k
  18. pull up some tarps then Schmoes
  19. When I lived in the Oakland/Fran area i saw more Raiders garb on random people out and about than any other pro team from that area
  20. Hows that scarce in a 60 000 seat stadium
  21. Interesting to note that Winnipeg hasn't been dinged for an off-side penalty on offence yet this year..attention to detail and perfection like that will be key moving forward with the Strev
  22. You have to discount the first 2 season's really...since 2016 he is 40-23 as a head coach
  23. regardless of the promoter's total failure...the Bombers pocketed whatever the rental fee was..500K perhaps..more?...who knows...and all the concessions sold..win win in my books Wonder if they keep the turf that they placed to cover up any non-turfed areas as well moving forward
  24. WE played our last home game with the patch already in place...was a non-issue..and bet most people didn't even notice it was there, tho it was brought to teams attention prior to game just so they knew...though the Bombers already did
  25. Not sure why or what the issues are with field other than the goal post patch. The field turf installed at IG is the same brand and spec as about 90 percent of the pro and college stadiums in North America I think all the CFL club field turf types are the same in except for Mtl and and BC..and obviously T.O's natural surface
