  1. Man couple sorry offences so far...Faj if the pass is over 8 yards is brutal...tho he just lucked out with 1 completion..Suitor is his usually annoying self
  2. Watching that first deep pass that Acklin dropped...safety cheated in assuming run support and Rose assumed over the top support in middle where BA should have and would have been...U also see Taylor recognized it and left his man and was in pursuit too...I chalk that up too the vets playing it as they normally would and expect help in the middle...also if u were paying attention pregame Sanchez even said expect Ottawa to attack the seams with a rookie in there...case in point on this particular one
  3. The shot on Shcoen was totally targeted...dude aimed and targeted at the head...launched himself even at it..was totally intentional and the defensive player woukd have landed the same shot regardless of Schoen's position...it was done with intent. Was funny those Red blacks were quite yappy and spouting off all game like they were defending champs or something..even in pregame...the old perverbial poking a bear is gonna do them in next week ..we were flat..complacent a bit and I think almost played like we just needed to show up... uncharacteristic for this crew...Friday is gonna be a diff game
  4. Yeah..Wilson been doing this since 2019....I think this yr he gets his recognition...guys just flat out good Was really impressed with Rutledge...he's gonna be just fine..better than fine..and he did a great job against a Lapo offence which historically is one that keeps a SAM ultra busy...that was basically a get re-aquinted game...I bet next week is like night and day
  5. Yeah...a Lapo classic...and yeah he really needs a kick in the onions for brutal clock management..shades of us yrs ago for sure
  6. But...all that matters is 1-0...like I said...good teams win when they play not up to standard....that was a game like so many times before where we are on losing end like Ottawa was when we were finding our way still...not worried unless next week is more of the same
  7. The dig and go yup...can't deny that one...
  8. Not sure..u can challenge it for roughing passer...not sure if u can for other players...it should be challengeable tho and a rule change if they wanna make more He actually wasnt worst in league
  9. That shot on Schoen was a blatant target of the head...friggin knocked his helmet off even...how that was not called...or how the broadcasters didn't even comment was pathetic
  10. Agree...I think Rose was also trying to favour the middle...or keep eye on it...safety play was bad....not worried about Rose or defense backfield
  11. That's what good teams do...or find way to win when they clearly were second best on the night Offence seemed out of sync for periods of time...I gonna chalk that up to starters real first game all together I think Johnny needs to be feature back..and Brady as the change of pace guy to start the season. Rose was bad....shitt happens...I'm sure just an anomaly but can't get BA back soon enough...Rutledge gonna be a stud...for first game showed really well. Wilson is a stud...so underated but can say prob best WIL in the league When Jeffcoat is back...we will be just fine... Schoen is gonna be really good...just wait till he has more games under his belt...Ellingson as advertised too I bet next week is a totally diff game and result...and we coast to a win..u know our vets are not impressed with how they played
  12. I would also bet we produce top rushing totals in the league, and T.O doesn't
  13. yeah that Ottawa O-line doesnt seem too stout and this is perfect game for us to rest Jeffcoat, and let new guys get feet wet while the Ottawa O-line takes time to gel...wouldn't be surprised if we rest him next week too if the newbies get pressure
  14. we have run with 6 o-lineman pretty much exclusively....as do most teams....we had 2 extra for spells last yr...and 2019....but generally teams only dress 6 true o-lineman....that extra 7th is more a luxury if u do it
  15. I would think Prukop does the short yardage, but if god forbid ZC gets nicked..Brown slots in...and to me that works just about right
  16. well last yr we had 4 with Hansen and Kongbo....so if that is normal...guess this is abnormal...but I not too concerned...3 will be a good rotation and sure we will show some different fronts with Walker and Clements factoring in
  17. when healthy...key....but look at Augustines numbers...played behind same oline as Harris....Augie has a better yards per carry of any back right now on a roster...including Harris...and who says Harris is defacto lead back?...he's already been limited in touches in camp....for a reason When Augustine played...was he not good?...also...his one game of full reps....dominant...no? His 2 starts in 2019...pretty damn good as well... If given same rep count this year....behind their respective lines...Augustine will out rush Harris...Younger...more durable....Harris will miss time, or be restricted in reps....was great...isnt no more...time and age gets everyone
  18. why obviously?
  19. Harris leadership may be missed...mayyyy.....as we have some bigtime leaders already there before him...and while he was here, and they still here....so really I see it as a non issue Production wise....he missed half the games...and we were basically unbeaten...we have 2 highly motivated younger guys...in better shape/condition...one of whom is a fellow Winnipegger who most likely has a huge chip on his shoulder now to prove he is the heir apparent, and behind this oline, and scheme and returning receivers....plus Ellingson...they just have to play their game and limit their errors...just like last yr....again...we will be fine, and prob better than last year as we actually have better QB depth, and I bet Ellingson and Schoen (and whoever else gets reps) will out produce what Lawler/Adams gave us last year, and prob this yr too for their respective teams....no slight against them as they were key guys for us, and great players but it's not crippling us by any stretch of the imagination Is Desjarlais better than Gray, and a loss...for sure...But Gray is a more than capable starter, we were just very fortunate that Desjarlais was the stud he was...Gray could start on any team in the league...could have last year and been top2..or 3 for them...factor in he has started before...with all the guys returning, we will hit the ground running and not having to have a gel period like pretty much every team in our division
  20. Yeah there are a couple options down south
  21. He doesn't need the reps...he will be fine...I sure he got the timing down going against the best defense in league day in and day out
  22. like I mentioned...have a bud in B.C and he said he has never seen so much marketing and the Lions being so visible there....like in 20 yrs....good signs coming from out west....and I not worried about Mtl...they have a good owner there now....they just need to win...they win and it's fashionable to be there again...T.O....who effing cares...move them elsewhere in S. Ontario where they would
  23. can't argue that he did a lot here...was key to the success and where the team still is today, but he did kind of let his ego get in the way in the off-season and essentially was putting himself ahead of the team with his lil hissy fit...which is too bad. He will still be, and still is a tea legend here, and this will pass, but I think the writing was clearly on the wall, and if this yr he is in and out of the lineup, and not what he was a a feature back it won't look good on him He should have took the reduced role, the reduced pay and been the mentor and situational guy for us, and if he escaped the season injury free, and fresh for playoffs...he coulda beasted out and truly went out on top with an unreal playoff performance capped with a 3peat
