LOLks @ Back 2 Back Champs: Week Of Thread
Booch replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
from what I seen Holm looked lost more than not...both got picked on sure....it obvious, but when Parker was in before Taylor went out....he was more than serviceable for a raw rookie interesting and a good sign....sounds like he itching to get the thumb's up to start participating...thats what guys do to try and influence the process....getting him back for late season would be a fairly big development...he will take a lot of the safety's attention away from some our other play makers.. -
and right now thats what we need...so savy move and fact of the matter we can prob get same production if not more from Adams...and possibly Massie...and who knows...MACK could be a call away as well for a depth role

As per what I figured Rutz is fine...so prob see Darby in Holms spot...Parker on corner...or would assume as much -

yeah....was his solid as a rock self...so keep doing what they been doing in practice...he doesnt need reps or have to work on technique..I think he has that all covered at this point in his career lol -

not concerned...keep him fresh -
Darby and Lawrence are far from average....and are leaps and bounds better than Holm and Parker.....as well both have 2+ yrs of CFL experience, and know the game, players and less apt to be fooled or make "rookie" errors than Holm and Parker...which is key...and huge and yes...sorry to say makes us way better in the back end...how you dont see that is baffling exactly...and can play all positions as well as SAM....but sure...lets keep trotting Holm out there
-
yeah he has a motor...and is aggressive...a shorter more powerfull Willie...would be a good compliment to the Jeffs I hoped we would be...and if true...Adding BA....and now Darby back...Possibly Lawrence if this is legit...our DB's just got a ****-ton better...like wayyyy better
-
I agree....and we did insert those 2 other guys right away...so...we could see him on roster and reps given...when we created havoc...it was when we had 4 ends on roster...and at times all on field together
-
if he on a one yr deal....or gets PR'd over there to close out season a good chance he is back next yr...and also with Taylors injury/age and who knows when he could be back to game ready, a good chance Darby is here next yr as well...which isnt a bad thing
-
yeh...hate to see Wilcotts go...and feel bad for him...but maybe they like the new dude they just signed, and Jeffcoat obviously they just want to get healthy, as I am certain he would have played if it was a playoff tilt...So with the Jeffs...one of the new guys and Adams maybe they feel thats all they need? Rutz I dont think is hurt bad...I thinkj I saw him maybe hurt a finger well before he went out...he played on defense, and then the last punt return play for us...and didnt get hurt and came off the field and looked just fine, and did not return, but was getting no assistance from trainers on side lines....I dont think it is anything keeping him out and maybe just a smart decision to rest and get others some reps Darby tho is a big signing...and figured it was gonna happen...i thought last week, but he can solidify a spot at corner or halfback...even play safety and we know he plays SAM...we just need Houston back now and we may be looking just fine in the back end...and I sure he is pumped to be back and will elevate his game yeah he knows our defence....and he knows the CFL...he will be in lineup garuanteed to get his groove back here

Ballantyne is a turd....he is happy to bring up that Lemon has more sacks than Willy and Jeffcoat "the bookends" combined, but fails to mention Jeffcoat been playing hurt all yr and has missed 4 games....and no mentions of knockdowns...biased writing at its finest -
yeah...wtf were those??....just sad
-
i dunno......look at the injuries Buck has dealt with here...starting center...knicked up tackles.....ellingson out....demski missing games....woli out....as well as integrating a new RB....and we humming along just fine...so a good OC it appears gets the most, and production out of his players available....I guess an average one doesnt?? that cup wasnt a result of Lapo's offence....funny that Buck is that picture too, as he had a huge hand in things as well...and his offence now is night and day more explosive and prolific....if you wanna say the success was a result of the OC...Then Buck has slayed Lapo as he is 25-5 as the OC
-
Khari...i say nope...as that was a drop back and chuck offense...stretching field...taking chances Durant...could care less about Rider drivel...but from what I recall wasnt that slop Lapo serves up now...was more a standard push it offence...and a QB who made stuff happen with legs...same with Buck's handfull of games where he was healthy...they pushed the ball....didnt play the style he promotes now. Matt Nicols as well started out here with a more vertical attack, and it morphed into the Lapo way...and Streveler was just fine his first season as a thrower, and a runner...he got nuetered when Lapo realized what a runner he was, and made him into this gimmick project, and it hampered his success as a passer, and he rarely was in schemes to be throw first...and teams seen it, as did everyone else...when he came in you knew exactly what was gonna happen. There was no way it was Lapo's brainwave that got Strev his NFL look....he got a look as he had 4 yrs now under his belt as a QB with success, as coming out of school he basically had barely 2 yrs as a QB....but if you look at his tape he was a passer with gaudy passing stats, and great running stats. if you take what Boomer says as an indication of anything...I dont know what to say....based on 1 play...thats just laughable Collaros was able to make things work within that Lapo system but if you break it down and look at it...he went off script, and looked downfield, and created plays...look at Harris recieving numbers when Collaros took over, as well as target location on the field....it all but dried up for Harris, as did the targets from 2-3 yards from line of scrimmage and behind....and the teams over all record since is reflective of the play not to lose Lapo scheme... He was decent to a point in the early stages of his career, but after he did his U.S tour of football clubs to "gather" ideas, he turned himself into a self generated smartly pants. trying to be the smartest dude in the room and the results from that point on forward were average at best....we won the cup here in 2019 despite his system...not because of it...

Hahah....yeah no doubt eh?

thing with Roberts...for a little dude who didnt train,,,,he carried the load injury free basically...and how many games did we watch him in the fourth quarter when everyone knew he was getting the ball just grind out first down after first down to kill out the clock...phenomenal what he did, in the tiny lil cheeseburger lovin smoking body...interesting fact tho...strength wise and if he did enter the weight room he was phenomenally strong...like almost in an unbelievable way...lil fella just was gifted...too bad he didnt stay on track here and get in 3 or more good years

yeah....hard to say if Lawler would have got hurt here...likely not having to dive all over the field to make catches,,,but Stove did himself in training...and Harris was inevitable in my opion...so 2/3rds of a bullet dodged -
just makes ya wanna laugh hahaha.....to heck with the 31 to 13 thrashing....and being swept...and looking like garbage...what a joke

yup...I had and have no issues with Roberts...cause every game he brought it....and on some bad bad teams too....and his grey cup no show he wasnt alone -
yup...said all along that Harris got jobbed, and the Faj got it cause he was the only QB to play 18 games....so got it by default basically as his accumulation of stats..that yes were nothing special just out produced every other QB.....but was far from the MOP...he was 3rd in passing yards...behind guys with less games...7th in tds thrown in league (4th in West) heck Nichols had more than him in only 9 games...wasnt even the rushing leader for QB's....Strev had more in way less reps...the fact he got the MOP was a joke....but a blessing as it snookered the Riders into going all in on him...haha....and been 2 yrs of awesomeness lol

after his split with wife, and her and kids went back to the U. S he fell into a dark place....and was very depressed...I helped him out a few times prior to his trade away and was sad where he ended up....I will give him credit the dude cared...bled blue and gold, but he did lack the training part of it, but he didnt have to, and he knew it as it was that way with him all his life...too bad he didnt have a real mentor, or a coach who really pushed him in highschool and college....but soley based on accomplishments, and how he affected teams preparation to stop him...he was one of the best...and not just on the Bomber -
yup....too bad he didnt really....he did on the field....but not so much to prepare for it as for the no show....he wasnt alone....but for some reason he gets the brunt of that anger...there were quite a few who let the team down...some whom would surprise you but is never mentioned...and not a lot know

wonder if he asked for it, since he was relegated to PR this yr...and they have a vet group there more or less and hoped to get an opp somewhere else...He's head and shoulders better than Holm and Parker as it stands now, plus has 2 yrs experience in league as well...so is less apt to be caught off guard with a different look from an offence...we have had good luck picking up cast offs later in yr...worked well with Taylor...
