Jets are one of the best teams in the league with more players coming up through the ranks. We’re fine.

Jets still wanted to clear space regardless. Might they have kept them? Maybe. But there was no guarantee. They had to make moves to even be on the conversation. Its not like they can’t go out and get replacements.

Hitch would be fine here but I think the relationship was broken and he wants a chance, even a narrow one, to start.

Exactly. That was always the issue. Wanting to stay is great. Giving up millions to stay, well can’t begrudge the player on probably his last contract.

True. They do have $28 million in cap space so it’s not dire. They just have to be careful and make good decisions.
