Can you say Ken Ploen, Ernie Pitts, Bud Grant, Leo Lewis, Herb Gray, **** Thornton, Sherwyn Thorson, Ed Lotowich, Ron Latourelle, Frank Rigney, Ed Kotowich? Won Grey Cup in 1959 & 1961... Need I say more?
So a team with all of those great players allowed 50 points in a preseason game. Doesn't that kinda show that you can't really judge a team from the preseason.

Sweep the Leg posted at TEP that the last time the Bombers gave up 50 points in a pre-season game we won the Grey Cup that season.

Mack influenced the Kent cut...? That's not quite the story we heard... in fact, I remember hearing that Mack let Lapo make the decisions...
Lots of revisionist history in the print media. Until recently Etienne was Mack's bust but now that he looks like he will be a contributing member of the team he's suddenly Lapo's pick according to some in the media.

If the new position pays less than what he was making as HC then he'd still be paid the difference. If they didn't have buy-out amounts in the contract or an agreement on what would be paid if he got another coaching job, then the money that Saskatchewan is paying him will be deducted from what Hamilton owes him. Back in 2009, Previous examples of this happening are when Edmonton wanted to hire Doug Berry as OC but a deal couldn't be worked out with the Bombers regarding how much should be deducted from what the Bombers owed Berry so the offer fell through. Lapo apparently had a clause in his contract on how much he would be paid by the Bombers if he took a coaching job wiith another team before the term of his contract was over.

Actually, bluto, the Manitoba Marathon was held Sunday with the start and finish lines at the UoM. The Bombers had to get special passes to get on campus Sunday. I'm not sure whether the media covering the Bombers would have needed to get special passes as well since they wouldn't have been there to cover the marathon but it's possible. ModAdmin was just passing along information that the Bombers released.

I thought Kent was cut because they had younger, better athletes they wanted to keep. Their plan seemed to be to find places for youth and worry where they will play later, just as it is now.
There were some DBs in camp last season that they wanted to keep like Washington. But the plan had been to put Hefney in at SAM until he told the media he didn't want to play there.

And when people ask why was Hef released but JJ's kept, one of the reasons has to be that JJ is willing to do whatever the coaches ask and more.

It will be interesting to see if this is another Clint Kent debacle? Mack made the mistake of last season. He wanted to gun Kent but wasn't smart enough to A) have identified or brought in competition for his replacement and
done it in the off season so his teammates could have mourned the loss a d got over it. The only good thing is a SAM is more difficult to replace than a DB. Small conciliation .Kent was a coaching decision. And they had identified a replacement but he refused to play the position.

Yeah? Doesn't surprise me that it's him. There was a Senior Ah Me who posted at the CFL forums until Feb 2013. If that's him as well then he's weirder than I thought but they would comment on each other's posts.
Anyone have any ideas on why he keeps pretending to be a Bomber fan when he trolls Bomber forum?

So was Argo Dave Access Blue? Either way it was annoying that someone would troll the old site, not very cool.
I have a feeling Access Blue is HfxTC from the CFL forum. I don't know if any of you saw the thread Access Blue posted at OB with claims that the Argos had complained about the visitors dressing room and it not being finished and they had to use a different room, there was no hot water, blah, blah, blah BS. HfxTC has posted pretty much the same crap at the CFL forum as well. He's also Pwick at TEP.

You're making a big leap. If you went to a party where others were smoking it you are going to come away smelling of it. Seeing how the article makes no mention of a field sobriety test being administered it is just as likely that the police officer smelled the residual on them since he would have been standing pretty close to the truck. Again if the officer had any reason to suspect that Hef was driving under the influence he would have administered a field sobriety test.

Well, that is their actual original name the Red Stockings. That's where Reds came from. So, the team named them for red stockings which is an actual thing. Jeff Hunt named his team for colours & the fact he thinks the name would be cool in French.
Hunt et al naming the team after the historic colours of sports teams in Ottawa doesn't seem much different than naming a team after the colour of socks.

yea thats a good point too.. I imagine that the coaches do have almost final say in the matter when it comes to assistants.. though i thought it was macks call on OC lapo's last season here.. but that would be the exception not the norm.
Lapo chose Crowton, not Mack. Mack apparently told him to hire an OC but not who to hire. According to Lapo, he ran into Crowton at a coaches conference and they started talking about the CFL and then Mack was brought in after Lapo and Crowton started talking about the opening for OC in Winnipeg.

Cincinatti Red STOCKINGS formed in 1881 & were charter members of the American Association. So, the Reds name isn't about just the colour red, it's a shortened version of the original name.
They haven't been the Red Stockings since 1889. And how is being named for the colour of your socks not being named after a colour?

Is it a bit misleading to say he was busted when he was just given a ticket? Since he had such a small amount he'll likely have to pay a small fine and that will be it. It's a misdemeanor so it won't effect his entry into Canada.

I get where you're coming from, but here's the thing. A Bomber is a big ass airplane that drops bombs...being blue is just an Bomber airplane being the color blue.
What in the hell is a RedBlack? It's not even anything. It's 2 friggen colors combined. It makes no sense. IT...MAKES...NO...SENSE!!!
At least the Red Sox...are...you know...RED SOX (a play on the words Socks). See where I'm coming from here?

Thanks for posting the pictures. In that first one, what is that machine by the coaches who are standing by the goal post?
Aren't they still basically practicing an open field with some trailers at one of the universities? Considering that would it even be possible to keep fans from mingling with the players and coaches?
