Glenn never was announced the starter, nor is he the guy that they have stated they'll live and die by. So no... I wouldn't say like that.
What does that have to do with it. The suggestion was that Buck wasn't really hurt because he was dressed for the game. Tate and Glenn were both said to be injured yet they both dressed as well.

They have a very clear liberal slant. Not that the sun doesn't have a conservative bias but they don't pretend to be the voice of all the people while pushing an agenda.
And the Freep has had some pretty well publicized and ugly issues stifling opinions they don't agree with. The reason the RRCC cre com department no longer has a radio station for student development is because of the Freep (and the agenda of some private radio execs that sat on the board).
Not being as right wing as the Sun does not mean the FP has a liberal slant. Their editorial staff is more to the right politically and they have been endorsing the Tories (federally and provincially) at election time for years.

Ohhhh Buck's mysterious injury. It'll be interesting to see him magically get healthy in the middle of the game if our other QBs go down.
Like if Mitchell and Tate had gone down last game and Glenn would have had to come in?

Cauchy should have been a free, free agent. Wally didn't want him and what other team did? Montreal waited and drafted theirs.
Wrong. Wally said he had wanted Cauchy to stay and that the Lions offered him a very good contract that he turned down. And there were other teams interested in signing Cauchy.

Can anyone provide a link to a media member saying that Goltz should be "thrown on the trash heap"? Or anything close to that? I think the media said the same thing we did. It's only one game. He's hampered by the system. Hard to judge him at this time.
From a Bender article at the Sun:
Don't forget, they started their third string quarterback, Bo Levi Mitchell, while the Bombers had their second-stringer, Justin Goltz. Mitchell completely out-classed Goltz as both made their first starts. Bombers management should immediately make a pitch for Mitchell, or Kevin Glenn (once he recovers from injury), or someone else. What they have behind centre just isn't working right now.http://www.winnipegsun.com/2013/07/26/bombers-all-out-blitz-bombers-out-coached-again

you're right... i was (obviously) going to take the Argos' starting TB (Steele), but i neglected to make it official (fighting Tuesday rush hour to get to the concrete pimple) even though i tipped my pick before the weekend.
so what happens if i don't have an official pick registered? is that a strike?
Maybe if you promise to give up scarves they'll accept your Argos starting TB statement as your pick.
-
Jays played in Oakland.. ease up on baseball hate.. you don't see me bashing curling now, do ya?
But they had a home stand that lasted a week and a half which is the reason the Argos had to play on a Tuesday night. And curling is great.

lol.. sorry my bad... im crazy forgetful and without a pc (and semi lazy) at the moment.. thanks for reminding me..
At least you won't get 2 strikes since neither Sheets or Harris scored in week 5.
-
Harris
You already picked Sheets for this week. The Lions/Argos game is still week 5. I should have specified week 5 in my post to Bluto.
-
likely won't pick until Monday when i find out who the Sculler's starting TB will be.
Don't see your pick this week, Bluto.

why the **** are they wanting to talk to Buchko about the teams start in the first place? What's he possibly going to say? I have no problems with the Bombers saying no to the Sun when it's very obvious that they're just looking to fire up a good old fashioned witch hunt. That chain of newspapers schtick is old and teams won't put up with it.
Totally agree.
And I wouldn't be surprised if they put in their request about 2 hours (or less) before their deadline on Sunday.

People seem to be forgetting the UoM's interest in IGF. And that IGF has to remain publicly owned. What debt do the Bombers have with the City?
Yes. if I was a Director, I'd be terrified. How does this team service the debt & make money with 25,000 or less in the stands which is what is going to happen. The BOD got the team into this mess by making bad decisions. The rot starts at the very top.
From 2014 - 2018 they can service the debt using money from the TSN contract.

Knew I should have taken Etienne.

Nice TD to Etienne. Almost thought he was going to do a victory lap of the endzone. lol

Esks didn't waste time, they were expecting a review from the command centre, which they shoudl of been fully entitled to automatically. Damn shame the meat heads in TO screwed another game up.
Teams are not automatically entitled to a review of a play like that because the ruling on the field was he was stopped before the goal line. And you are assuming the command centre didn't review it. The replay was pretty clear so they could have checked it and decided they didn't need to stop the game to do a longer review.

There is no back of the line. From the CFL by-laws:
If we had bid our second round pick for Laurent we would have gotten him.The supplementary Draft shall follow the same order of selection as the regular Draft meeting. A member Club selecting a player must offer to forfeit a selection in the next regular Draft meeting. The next Club has the right to offer to forfeit a higher selection for that player, and so on until each Club has had an opportunity to bid for that player, with the rights to that player being awarded to the Club offering the highest ranking forfeiture. A player not selected in a supplementary Draft shall be declared a free agent.
-
That wasn't 5 yards in the end zone. From the TV angle it was difficult to tell where the ball went out. I don't know how the command centre could overrule the call on the field.
-
I don't think that's how it works. I think that because we took Poblah with our future first round pick, we went to the back of the line. Edmonton was #2 in line that year I believe.
That's not how it works. It's more like a silent auction. Team that puts in the best bid gets the player. If more than one team bids the same round pick then the team with the higher waiver position gets the player.
-
Messam.
Oops. Messam isn't playing.
-
No mention of a wife. Why am I not surprised.
-
Three years was a terrible decision. Hoping that only one is guaranted like LaPo's.
It's also pretty standard across the league.
-
What was wrong with the comment? I think "No." would have been worse.
And saying "yes" just adds more pressure.
-
I can't remember the last time I saw an actual pitch in a CFL game. Not with the zone read which every team runs now as a base offense. Just when did this ugly offense come into existence in the CFL? We used to have such innovative & imaginative offenses & now it's all the same...
I seem to recall Edmonton ran a pitch play during the monsoon in Hamilton which, of course, the RB dropped but was able to recover the ball and they took a big loss.

According to the Montreal media, Popp hired most, if not all, of Hawkins assistants.
