  1. He was here last season when they were playing real games so he’d have a significant leg up on someone who was here in camp and likely didn’t experience any real game planning…one would think anyway. They’d know something about him. Need to replace 6’3 and 6’4
  2. Need a guy who can step in and play. With rapport with Collaros. How much would any of the later cuts run with Collaros in camp? Probably not much. We only had a handful of longer receivers in camp. Alston, Wheatfall, Keyaton Thompson, Bryce Mitchell. The only guy who even made it to final cut was Wheatfall. It's not like they gave him 200k a year and guaranteed money.
  3. Think he actually pulled out some wins with all time D and special teams in terms of scoring and turning ball over....and a lot of that time period without truly great players. Now has become super lax in those departments as a QB/Receiver driven team. Bizarre to me. It's like they aren't coaching the D to attack the ball, which was a hallmark of our team before 2021. Special teams they are hoping doesn't cost them points, not that they will gain points from it.
  4. I mean, they need a guy who is going to be ready to play this week likely, and on that lankier body type. So it's not that crazy of an add.
  5. That was the game they lost 2 DL in. But anything more than 20 snaps is too much.
  6. Damn. Hope Sayles didn't get the Hefney injury there.
  7. Let's throw a ball 30 yards across the field to James Tuck at 2 yards depth. Great play design. BLM has no velocity at all. Sailing everything. Should have retired.
  8. Patterson just has no hope from the pocket. You can't be a pro QB if you can't pass from there.
  9. Looked dinged up the play before after he took off and ran. Non contact kind of thing.
  10. Yeah I'll give them that.
  11. Kind of the issue with the early season start. Sunday night in June. Teachers work tomorrow. Kids go to school tomorrow. Most people work tomorrow. Don't think people are driving 7 hours to see Hamilton. They've only played likely the two worst teams in the league. And this is the first game where they are looking in control of the game. Weren't they 4-1 last year?
  12. Yeah they need a guy with a big catch radius or it's going to be continued unhappy days for Collaros as a QB.
  13. Dukes appears to be loved by his teammates as well. Kelly is a bit of a cloud in terms of vibe.
  14. We should be looking to replace the Lawler/Wheatfall body type right now. Sounds like Schoen is going to be down for awhile if he gets back at all this season. A couple of our camp cuts could fit the bill if they think they'd integrate pretty quick. Was kind of shocked they didn't keep one of those body types around. Wolitarsky is a big guy, but more possession type. If Demski is our only vertical guy our offense will have a hell of a time getting vertical and also opening up any other space.
  15. How many times has he thrown a pass that ends up inside the 5 yard line and then short-yardage or back runs it in? Like say the Wolitarsky play last game...does it matter that Collaros didn't get the TD because the play ended at the 1 then the backup QB runs it in?
  16. Jones put two returners out and they still let the ball hit the turf. That will cost them the game. Catch that ball at the 15 and get a 5 yard return big difference than letting it roll to goal-line and starting drive at own 5.
  17. Hamilton isn't using Vedvik. Would trade a low pick over there for him.
  18. That same arm tapped the receiver on the shoulder while the DB was going ass over tea kettle and the receiver had the ball. Clearly touched him when he had possession, but just completely incidental the guy wasn't making any effort to take Mitchell down. So I'd say should be a TD.
  19. I hate the ones where it's a completely incidental graze to make a guy down. Defender should have to be making an effort to tag the guy down or tackle him. Err on the side of the big play.
  20. Mitchell almost spiked that ball then realized he wasn't touched and could keep running.
  21. Worth a shot at least he has a year in with Calgary. Bridges might be better week by week as he can see on film what's happening and take that knowledge back to the field.
  22. The hallmark of that D is preventing the deep ball. Currently we are so confused in coverage and getting torched by deep ball. On rewatch there's a bunch of plays to the boundary where Bonds locks in, stops his feet, and starts waving like "someone save my ass because I made the wrong read." BC really did a great job of showing screen/hitch/other quick stuff then resetting. Bonds got sucked in a lot. They didn't go after Ford much at all in comparison to Montreal and Ottawa. We could really use a couple vet CFL DB's that have some tread left. Alexander is a complete disaster out there physically, Bridges is super scared of the deep stuff so when teams flood zones he's always vacating deep, even chasing routes down the middle in cover 3 when he's on the flank, leaving a ton of space 20 yards in. This secondary will lose us games if our offense isn't going to score 30. Pass rush is doing almost nothing as well which doesn't help matters. Fayad looks good, Hubert looks useful. Jefferson needs to be more engaged, have no use for him running as a spy or 3-4 style rush LB as they were doing at times last night with 3 DT's on field.
  23. I'd argue we are getting gashed. Just that no one really commits to the run in this era. It's 6-7 yards a play on us if they do.
  24. Zone is a hell of a lot harder to play effectively and requires a lot of coordination between a bunch of guys who hardly have any reps together.
