  1. And last season he was a Bomber, as I stated.
  2. There's a few guys who would be interesting to compete for jobs in camp, maybe stick around on PR/IR to fill in for injuries down the line: Travis Bond...surprised he's not in the XFL tbh Davon Coleman, would be a real nice fit here at DT Fogg and Fenner, versatile DB's, great special teamers Josh Woodman, NI DB good special teamer, passable on D Terry Williams, great returner, decent RB Romar Morris, pretty lethal returner for Calgary in 2018 but big injuries over and over. Bunch of good receivers out there. Armanti Edwards is a real good slot. Actually can't believe Lapo isn't all over him for gadget stuff too, Lankford, bring him back to keep Medlock in shape, keep that 40 time low so he can recover more punts. Some NI receivers with lots of talent who haven't put it together...Simonise, Behar
  3. It's a 98% probability that we'll have a DI defensive lineman as we did last season with Richardson and/or Roh. Antigha probably takes the DI LB spot and can take reps in different packages in different spots. You're way overthinking this 4 months out. Richardson was a rookie last year and they'll be a bunch of guys competing for jobs again at the bottom of the roster both Canadian and import.
  4. Minimum salary is up. That's easily $150,000 per team in cap space. Each one of those guys we lose has a replacement, even if you're replacing with a rookie that's half to 3/4 of the saving gone.
  5. The cap hasn't adjusted much in the last 5 years, and certainly on a per player basis it's essentially less now with the higher minimum salary. Bryant was making 180 all in on his first deal here. The concession the PA made and how the league believes the increase to the minimum salary will be mitigated are the mandated salaries for draft picks. We'll see how that works out. I can tell you the agents believe it will result in lots of players not signing very quickly. It will certainly continue to make navigating those early rounds of the draft a delicate balance between drafting the best football players and drafting someone who will sign.
  6. Second worst of the regulars. Jon Ryan was worse.
  7. Laughable. Maver is a potential HOFer. Pfeffer is a guy still trying to win a job. Maver's net punting in 2019 was 4 yards better than Pfeffer's. The only punter worse in the league last year was Jon Ryan.
  8. I don't believe Blazdek is very good. I actually think there's a pretty good chance he doesn't make any roster this season.
  9. They lost Holmes, McEwen and Bomben. At best Blake and Blazdek are equal to Holmes and Bomben, but probably a bit of a downgrade. They are scrambling fill holes in a terrible roster that lost most of its top players.
  10. A guy who hasn't played a game since 2017. A guy who has never played Canadian football. Yeah wait and see is fair. I doubt he has a significant impact, might be a good player but doubt he's a star, hasn't been at any other level. He's not going to be a better CFLer than Derel Walker or SJ Green, even Armanti Edwards.
  11. Way too much for Daniels. He's been garbage when he's been anything more than a #3 target. Huge drop off for the Argos from Walker-Green-Edwards.
  12. QB: Collaros/McGuire RB: HARRIS, AUGUSTINE, OLIVIERA, MILLER, RUSH REC: Adams, Lawler, WOLITARSKY, DEMSKI, Bailey, Nelson, Whitehead, Grant, PETERMANN, FEOLI-GUDINO OL: Bryant, Hardrick, NEUFELD, DESJARLAIS, COUTURE, SPELLER, GRAY, ELI DE: Jeffcoat, Jefferson, HANSEN DT: THOMAS, Richardson, GRIFFITHS SAM: Maston MLB: Bighill, MILES WIL: Wilson, BRIGGS, GAUTHIER, CALVER CB: Jones, EXUME HB: Taylor, Johnson S: Alexander, HALLETT LS: REMPEL, LATOUR K/P: Medlock After that, all rookies. By my estimation there's probably a job at DT, a DI spot on the DL, DI spot at LB, and couple jobs in the secondary up for grabs.
  13. I'm thinking Green found out in the last 2 weeks that he was not going to get a CFL deal with much guaranteed money.
  14. Edmonton's radio guy tweets Eskimos active in discussions today with Posey and Roosevelt...those guys get released, or is he reporting that the Eskimos are in fact tampering?
  15. Best thing they did was keep Vince McMahon far away, given up the hope of competing with the NFL/CFL and all the gimmicky crap out of the broadcasts. That's what sunk the first iteration. They also have more talent to draw from with Arena ball being all but dead outside of basically one legitimate league in the mid-west/west coast now. They have legitimate broadcasting partners who put resources into those broadcasts, the people calling/covering those games were people who work on NFL/NCAA broadcasts, they weren't the Z team. The only issue is converting that to capital as they are truly filler at this point. They will have to post consistent numbers >1 million/game to have value.
  16. If he signs the price of those tickets should be added to the Argos cap number.
  17. Hamilton has a pretty cheap offense and might be counting on half of Masoli's salary not counting if he starts the season on IR.
  18. Maybe but I don't believe they would want to trade anyone on the roster for that. I think it's more likely they would deal someone closer to the season or maybe a little ways into the season to get somebody a shot to play if they are say the 8th OL on the depth chart. I mean we talk about how many OL we have but we needed all of them last season, they all played and almost all of them started.
  19. I don't believe the Bombers give two shits about recovering picks. They don't have roster spots and any guys with any chance of getting a NFL shot will not be signing under the new CBA rules until those are exhausted. Go through the roster, where is there a spot to slot in a rookie Canadian on the gameday roster? We have more OL than we can roster, we have 3 NI tailbacks, we have two pretty good fullback/TE types who are monster special teamers, we have 3 NI receivers, we have Thomas, we have Briggs, Gauthier, we have Hallett, Exume and we have a guy like Griffiths who we've been developing on the DL. The only two spots we might want a high-end guy are DL and DB, but any of the DL are going to do the NFL thing and really unlikely you can draft a guy at DB who steps up day 1 on D. I think the Bombers are just fine picking late in the 2nd round and then mostly in the mid-late rounds this year.
  20. Exactly. Unless there is a significant signing bonus in year 1 that isn't being offered without the term nobody is taking more than a one-year deal. The potential for trade you mention is just another reason why.
  21. There's no upside in term for the players. The contracts aren't guaranteed.
  22. The current McEwen team has the most passive aggressive communication, especially for a team trying to accomplish the same goal. That lead is a real ******. The bigger problem is the panic McEwen works himself into when he has a tough end and struggles to read the ice. He takes himself right out of games. Gunnlaugson is crazy but he keeps things positive and stays calm.
  23. Not willing to play for peanuts.
  24. Wonder if Lawler ends up playing the boundary. Adams has struggled like crazy there to find any consistency and often ended up in the slot more than anywhere else. Buck obviously will have some different ideas. Adams is decent value at 140k, still room to add someone >200k probably at the cost of adding that money into the secondary and going young/value there. I'm not a huge fan of Bailey as anything other than a fill-in. Plays real hard but nothing special in terms of routes or hands. Even if they don't add a big free agent I think he has a tough time making the roster.
  25. Weird thought Landry Jones was supposed to be face of the league as Dallas QB.
