  1. Yeah that guy was nowhere close to down by contact. There was contact with receiver as ball arrived but no contact once the DB had it in his control after catching it. They are calling like amateur rules down when your knee touches contact or not.
  2. The current Calgary uniforms are hard to beat in hideousness.
  3. Seriously if the cost is 1 game for a slightly above average edge rusher to potentially KO top QB's in this league after the play....why not if you're a coach, player, franchise with no ethics? League needs to do way better. Meh, think he should have to decide if he wants to go out to The Keg on Friday night or hide in his hotel room. Accountability.
  4. One game is way too light. If he did that during the actual play one game would be fine. The fact it was so late, so unexpected, so aggressive and on a QB (seriously the people including Sanchez comparing this to linemen going nose to nose which happens all the time...absolutely ******* ignorant) should make it at least 4 games. If you can lose your composure to that extent outside of a football play you probably shouldn't be allowed to play. And of course it takes Robertson out of the game in Winnipeg so he avoids the accountability of dealing with both the team between the stripes and the community.
  5. But he was downfield in coverage. He wasn't running back thinking they were going to punt or something. Leave that vertical route and sit on top of Jones, Dolegala hits the vertical for 70 yards.
  6. Not only run the ball. Take advantage of defensive adjustment to the run. Get the ball out quick to guys who are against 1 guy in space and have less help because the backers are looking inside for Oliviera. Our whole run game is between the tackles, opens up width of field. Too focused on downfield passing, all or nothing right now. Should be dominating TOP, having 6-8-10 play drives up and down field.
  7. I don't think Parker should have left a vertical route to bracket Tevin Jones considering who the Riders QB is and his arm. That's 100% on Houston having the wrong leverage given the route combo the Riders played there to clear out space for Jones to hit that out. They did the same combo for Emilus as well and Houston stayed inside giving them a 20ish yard play. Houston needs to play the field corner. He's not getting around quick enough on the boundary. Yeah yeah 7 INTs...who the **** cares if you have 2-3 total and unncessary busts a game?
  8. Lawson tackled Dolegala and bumped his facemask on the way down. Wasn't primary point of contact, incidental and extremely ignorant to even mention in context of what Robertson did.
  9. Might be to accommodate some loss of speed too. But they could get another LB/DB type on for Jackson or at least a faster edge body type. BOLO isn't on punt team anymore. We dress 7 OL so that takes a guy out of special teams duty. To me looks like contain guy last night, Parker, is setting up way too far inside. Now not tracking ball well? Or by design? Can't know that. Always teach contain guy to keep ball on inside shoulder but they were for sure not doing that on kick side for punts last night. Sask ran almost exclusively field returns on kickoffs in 2nd half last night which really challenges wide contain and speed of cover team to adjust. They basically trap the wide contain man and cut up that vertical gap sort of like a stretch run play on offense. But any guy between there can't bust through and make the play if they get there quickly.
  10. Wade Miller was hot last night and seeked out the press. O'Shea called out league too. Unprecedented for this regime. They literally never complain publicly.
  11. Bump helmets, go nose to nose yeah. Not full on head butt someone. There's no precedent for this so nothing to really go off of. Even the Marino stuff was during play. If you're using that as a precedent it wouldn't play out well for Robertson.
  12. That was pretty exceptional. I've been playing, coaching and watching football for 30 years and I've never seen anything like that, and on a quarterback. I've seen guys go nose to nose all the time and bump facemasks. That was a full on headbutt and totally disconnected from any actual game play. Closest thing I can remember is when Burfict took a shot at Antonio Brown but that was still during play. I'm not surprised Dickenson didn't see it. Happened so late probably looking down at a play chart or something.
  13. Dobson is out there now like 2/3 of snaps. If anything it's way too much. If he's out there for a pass play just means another guy on opposition free in coverage. Max protect sometimes, not all the time. Doing it all the time is making it way too easy on defences. But it's another schematic issue and might come down to QB preferences, we don't run much stuff that moves the ball out quick. Finally got a screen out to Demski in the 4th Q. Crazy thing is D's are bunching up the middle to counter our heavy scheme with run so there's tons of space out there on 1st and 10 if you get it out quick to someone who can run with it, really anyone on our O I'd be fine with but Demski, Bailey, Lawler for sure.
  14. The reviews are automatically triggered by CC in OT. There wasn’t a full minute between the end of that play and the Bombers first snap. I don’t believe they reviewed it. Most of their reviews take 3-4 minutes. The PI challenge took that long in the 4th quarter. Would be nice for the media to question that. O’Shea needs to get that challenge flag out on huge plays. PI on Lawler is a 50 yard swing early in the game. Use the challenge on plays like that. Had a similar one vs BC. Then used the challenge on a RTP call against us that was clearly a penalty. Challenge when the result is a massive swing like a bunch of yards or change of possession if play goes right way (say it’s 3rd down or penalty negates turnover).
  15. Lots of interesting situations in pro and rec hockey with this and late hits or vicious stick attacks. Many legal cases over the years. Significant one with a high school rugby match too and a future NHLer who killed an opponent with excessive contact outside the bounds of what is part of game.
  16. Think biggest issue with D is gameplanning for opponent and not getting pressure with 4 consistently. We didn't contain/spy Crum or Ford well. But we play passive rush vs Dolegala who can't run, we take wide routes not a lot of inside moves off the edge. We play tons of man vs a QB like Dolegala with a gun but no accuracy giving tons of space to get the ball out to guys. Played a bit of zone in 3rd Q and shut him down. Zone = turnovers vs a guy like Dolegala. We blitz a bunch to get pressure cause we don't get it with 4. Drop out late in games to hold lead, can't get pressure with 4.
  17. FFS. Could have ended Collaros career and not even part of a play. Brain is way more important than leg.
  18. Offense puts up some points but not often staying on field. Relying on big plays so much. Doesn't jive with the way roster built. Lets see more drives and some big plays too.
  19. I doubt it. They are trained from the top not to react after the whistle. There are guys banned from league. League won't register contract. Marino, Nate Holley. There's no maximum.
  20. The head butt should be enough for like a 4-5-6 game suspension. If a guy did that in the course of a play would be suspendable. The fact it was so far outside of the play needs to be addressed.
  21. Could very well be. Hockey players attacking others with a stick have been charged criminally. This was obviously not part of the game. Collaros wasn't expecting contact there and there's no consent because play is so over.
  22. The back judge clearly saw it cause he hauled ass and was in the fray before the Bombers players could even get near Robertson.
  23. I mean who cares what they are comfortable with? The results are clear in these games. Did you see the pass rush at all? Only if they blitzed.
  24. Other than the first 20 mins of the game when our O completely didn't show up but started between the 40 and midfield the whole time while Sask was pinned inside their 20 until their big play over Houston.
  25. By reading this I believe you don't really understand the point. It's not like it's the same to run the guys out there for 60 snaps instead of 40 or 45. You'd rather have Jeffcoat at his best for 40 snaps than dead tired for 70. It's not really an either/or situation. They have the roster spot to get another body on D.
