  1. Show us on the doll where Dane Evans hurt you I would more say woof what a garbage scouting year There are more contributors in the 5th and 6th rounds than in the 1st and 2nd. Yikes.
  2. I wouldn’t say he’s anything like Sayles, way lower point of attack and not a guy you’re going to flex out to the edge ever. He’s a bull rush Stove type tackle with a bit more athleticism but a shorter wingspan. Former wrestler collegiately, I think he’s got potential to be a good one for us.
  3. Bombers added a few camp bodies Receivers Tre Turner and Manasseh Bailey, Canadian DB Jordan Veltri and the one I’m probably most intrigued by - DT O’Bryan Goodson Interesting note on Tre Turner: might be the first Bomber born in the 2000s, he’s only 22
  4. I’m wondering if the Bombers look to use the global draft this year as a way to bring in any level of competition at DT. There are a couple of reasonably successful NCAA DT attending the “global” portion of the combine.
  5. Agreed. Sayles was for sure a JAG, wasn’t sad to see him go.
  6. I’m really curious lol why do you almost always reply to comments nobody has made?
  7. It’s a bad take provided the Bombers find at least one new impact starter on D. There are a couple things in there I don’t really agree with (I’m pretty comfortable with the secondary as it sits) but for us to be going into 2023 with a worse DL than 2022 is scary. We can talk about being two years removed from an all-time historic D all we want, that’s irrelevant to 2023. Our studs on the DL are older and need complementary pieces that can rotate to keep them fresh. We saw that last year and another year of aging isn’t going to help. Our interior DL as it sits today is probably the worst in the entire CFL. Nobody is scared of Jake Thomas and Ricky Walker. The all-time historic D that we had in 2021 was propped up by incredible pressure from the DL and right now, we’re missing the pieces that allow us to do that. We’re not one piece away on the DL unless that piece is all-star calibre from week 1. We’re two pieces, maybe even three, from being able to have anything resembling a “great” DL in 2023. Is our front office good enough to find those pieces? Probably. Do we need them to? I’d say almost definitely.
  8. True but I do miss him working free of the required bias
  9. It’s easy to say this but you HAVE to bake in an expectation that we’re going to be missing key guys this year because our key guys have proven they miss games. Wilson, Jeffcoat, Alexander, Bighill … it’d be out of the ordinary if they DIDN’T miss time at this point. Nichols, Houston, Alexander are all super capable. I’m apprehensive about Rose, excited to see Parker take the next step. Not sure what the overall doubt on our secondary is stemming from.
  10. Gee almost like I know what I’m talking about @bluto
  11. Word is Bombers signed a punter, Devin Anctil college teammates with Dalton Schoen … should be announced soon EDIT: just looked at the CFL transactions page to see if it was official yet and it is, plus they also seem to have signed former NFL 7th round pick DB Jordan Brown
  12. It’s a compromise. They don’t have to trade him to you, you pay that price to avoid the risk that someone else picks him up.
  13. It's too bad Bombers can't get Dane. Either way, I predict he goes to the Argos for a fourth and a neg list player.
  14. McLeod Bethel Thompson will not play in the @CFL in 2023. He will play for the New Orleans Breakers of @USFL. @CFLonTSN oof
  15. Not sure why we're hating on Blake, he's not terrible. Certainly an upgrade for them, even if he's old as hell. Godber sucks, not quite sure I get the idea they're going for there.
  16. Since you guys asked and I'm bored ... I went through and looked at the statistics for every game. The amount of times O'Shea opted to punt instead of attempting a 45-49 yard field goal equals a grand total of zero These are the only ones times we punted from 45 yards in or closer all year. Week 1 - punted from OTT 45 Week 2 - punted from OTT 43 Week 3 - punted from HAM 45 WF - punted from BC 44 up 8 points with 2:02 left in the 4Q (that is to say, it would've been idiotic to kick a FG here) GC - punted from TOR 43 in the 1Q down 3-0
  17. Kwaku Boateng who looked washed in 2021 and didn’t play in 2022? No thanks
  18. I hope in 15 years, Bailey is still with the club somehow as our very own Pinball type guy. Hearing those quotes .. wow There’s absolutely no way he took a pay cut. Also, be quiet
  19. Good business practice is spending money where it makes you better, not spending money on mediocre return at a position of need. There wasn’t a single DT available worth signing, you can’t force it into reality. We’ll have to go a different route this year with that spot because the free agent route was not available.
  20. The right move this year isn’t to wait at all, not when they’ve essentially pushed all their chips in the middle. I think they’re going to be forced to wait either way since Hamilton isn’t going to give up a guy like Bennett but if they COULD get him, you have to give it a shot this year. That being said, he also fits next year. I can’t see a situation where we aren’t replacing at least half of our starting DL next year and the cash we save by seeing Willie and/or Jeffcoat depart is easily spent on keeping Schoen and signing a guy like Bennett. lots of tough decisions ahead for our front office, 2024 is going to be a wild year
  21. I can’t see Hamilton, in a Grey Cup hosting year, taking futures from one of their biggest obstacles in order to improve them in the now unless you absolutely blew them away with an offer. I can see Hamilton saying no to our next two first rounders, to be honest. Only kind of trade I can maybe see working is something along the lines of Dobson for Bennett, which is probably a trade I’d make but you have to think long and hard about it now that we don’t really have any upcoming OL in the pipeline and Desjarlais isn’t coming back.
  22. I’d be shocked if Hamilton traded us Bennett. I’d also be shocked if we didn’t heavily consider the idea of trying to trade for him or someone like him. They’ve made it pretty clear that this year is *the* year for us, our first round draft pick probably isn’t going to contribute at the level a third year Canadian can. Sure, you can try and sign him next offseason but we want to win now. I’d offer up our first rounder without hesitation. I think it’d take more
