  1. I develop my opinions based on what I see with my eyes, not based on a bunch of speculative numbers on paper. You won’t hear me speak any differently - I do think something needs to be done about O’Shea’s roster management and I do think Collaros has proven himself an underwhelming playoff performer on a decline. Any other hit and run questions?
  2. I hear you brother. I just don’t like arguing over fairytales. I get we’re only going off what we have, I just don’t understand the purpose. This isn’t like the Hardrick deal to me. I don’t need to know anything other than “Hardrick” and “highest paid American OL” to know that’s stupid. Way more at play here.
  3. I don’t know why none of you have realized yet that Booch IS Damian Jackson.
  4. Well, for starters, I’m not an expert but I at least understand the facts related to the situation. The bolded is not true.
  5. If the market is the market, then it’s not an overpay. You’re too caught up on the individual numbers, man. Who cares? It’s a good day for us. Do you think you’re going to be in the stands in August surrounded by people celebrating a Brady TD thinking to yourself “arggggh that could’ve cost us $900 less!” I still stand by that. But you’re right, we can all have opinions. The only thing I don’t like about this salary cap talk is that it’s an opinion based on absolutely nothing. We’re all just guessing.
  6. I’m genuinely baffled at some of the reactions in here lol have we just turned into a ridiculously spoiled and entitled Rideresque fanbase who thinks everyone should take less money for the honour of playing here? The Bombers just signed the MOP finalist, MOC winner to a two year contract in the prime of his career. Take the hometown element out of it. MBB members, with no information on other offers, negotiations, the Bombers’ internal cap, how much other players get paid, how much the Bombers were anticipating paying, how much Brady asked for, where we’ve spent or plan to spend other dollars, where we’ve saved or plan to save other dollars or really genuinely any information about anything at all other than just a bunch of retweets from guys they only trust if the information suits their narrative: “tOo MuCh” what?
  7. When was Harris the entire offense in BC when he got paid that money? Brady just had 2016 yards from scrimmage and a 5.9 YPC with 13 touchdowns. I know nostalgia is a thing, but that’s a more productive season than Andrew Harris has ever had.
  8. Lol didn’t hear anyone say a word about Farhan being unreliable when the Hardrick numbers came out
  9. Don’t love the money but I do like that we have the second year because that's got "restructure to take a big bonus and lower the cap hit" written all over it. People will be upset about the money but as long as we didn’t overspend (which I don’t think we did, it’s exactly what Harris used to make) then it is what it is, they obviously had their number to make it work as we’ve all been saying and this fit.
  10. I really think there’s a notable absence of negotiations being held with the top receivers and I’m guessing it’s because everyone has realized paying 300k to a Lawler or Lewis doesn’t mean anything if you suck at QB. My gut tells me right now that Schoen may have been hoping for an offer from Ottawa to go play with Dru, but now that it’s probably not coming, he’ll be back here at 260k-ish
  11. I’m going to try and be self-aware with this because I know I prefer Schoen over Brady myself, but I did have a conversation with my dad the other day where he made a very good point: we’ve never played Schoenball in the 4th Q to seal a win. We’ve made a habit of playing Bradyball. That stuff does matter and I don’t think I had really considered that until he said it.
  12. There is something to be said about how Brady is a luxury so it shouldn’t matter, but it’s definitely easier to find a Schoen than a Brady. I hope we manage to keep both though.
  13. I’m thinking Brady got probably between 210-220k and honestly, I’m fine with that
  14. I think we’re going to find out very soon that the contract isn’t ridiculous at all
  15. I genuinely don’t think he was that bad to start the year, but that one game where he gambled and got burned for the TD was basically the end of him being even remotely good
  16. I don’t know which one, but I was told this morning to expect one of the two would be getting announced
  17. We probably save about 80? Don’t forget - we didn’t pay him 230k, the Riders did. Not saving what we never spent.
  18. I genuinely would’ve been disappointed to see us bring back Yoshi at 50k a year less than that. 230k is insanity.
  19. You gotta think they view him as the blindside tackle for that cash which is absolutely bananas
  20. Hardrick’s deal will pay him 230.5k in each season. 120k signing bonus. Makes him the highest paid 🇺🇸OL in @CFL. @CFLonTSN LMFAO
  21. Let’s hold our horses on that though, there’s absolutely nothing saying this was a decision we made. It’s not as if we released the guy. Could it be that? Sure. As of right now, impossible to say.
  22. I don’t hate that at all. Yoshi gets his cash, Riders get a diminishing asset, Drew Richmond gets a chance to play.
