  1. Definitely. The crazy thing is that the coaches must know this, but keep trying to run it up the gut anyway. That's just insane to me.
  2. Yeah that's what I was noticing. I don't think he can use his right hand, which essentially means he can't block and is only useful by getting in the way.
  3. Last game it was Kolankowski. Was getting pushed around that game too.
  4. Neufeld has been a pylon today. He's too injured and probably shouldn't be playing (not sure who could replace him though). We're going to need to gut out a win today!
  5. Yeah our OL isn't playing particularly strong this season, and are getting pushed around. Harris was able to make something out of nothing with his amazing core strength, balance and his spin move - oftentimes he made something out of nothing. Neither Oliveira nor Augustine have this ability, and our OL isn't doing them any favours, so the interior lanes just aren't there for them. They need to do more play action or runs to the outside, it's really the only shot we have to keep the Stamps honest.
  6. Uh.... the ability to run in a straight line? 😅
  7. Yeah, he's one dimensional, not fast enough to slip through holes, not strong enough to bust through the line. Just not good enough.
  8. We've had great route runners, but Ellingson has great hands, especially in contested spaces. He's such a great receiver.
  9. Yeah Collaros has been taking some hits. Not happy.
  10. Yep, agreed. Probably been the weakest part of the team so far this year. How long is Couture out?
  11. Sloppy play by the offence so far. We need to be better.
  12. Neufeld looking like he's having a rough go today. Did he injure his hand last game or earlier in the season?
  13. Lifelong as in we would be the only team he played for (I recognize he got his start with BC, but was not a starter until he played with the Bombers). When he injured his shoulder we traded him to Calgary instead of keeping him in some capacity. That should have never happened in my opinion.
  14. Khari Jones was and remains one of my favourite Bombers to this day. Super supportive guy and a student of the game. I always remember reading his wife Justine's articles in the Free Press and marvelled at how much she put herself out there and how supportive she was towards the team. Khari, Stegall, Roberts, Gordon, Bruce, Brown, Bolden. Man that team was stacked. Such a great era to be a Bomber fan. Personally I would love for him to take over if O'Shea plans to step away after this year. Hire him and Miles on as second offensive/defensive coordinators with the gentleman's agreement that they move into head coach/main defensive coordinator once MOS moves on. I have a feeling Mike is going to start feeling the itch of wanting to coach the Argos before he retires, and I'm sure Toronto will do everything they can to try and pry him away from us. The only thing that would prevent Khari from happening is that we did him so dirty in his final years that I would totally understand if he didn't want anything to do with Winnipeg for the rest of his life (outsite of beating them). It hurt not seeing him retire as a lifelong Bomber (Roberts too...)....
  15. Yeah, this is a perfect storm of short week and injuries which is making me think we might get our butts handed to us. Our offence is still a work in progress, so the only shot we have is our defense carrying the load (as they have for the better part of the past 2 seasons). I will be pleasantly surprised if we can pull this one out, but am not expecting it.
  16. New poster here, but have been reading these boards for a while - best place to find Bombers news! Agree that Bighill was our best player. He was all over the field today (as per usual). One of the best tacklers to play the game and a sure hall of famer. I have to say that I'm kind of concerned with Buck's calling of the games so far - I don't know what we're doing running up the gut so much with a banged up o-line. We should be running sweeps and play-action to keep teams honest until Couture is back (sorry Kolankowski - you're doing a serviceable job, but getting pushed around in there). A bunch of odd short yardage plays as well... are we having issues with receivers and their routes? It's strange. Otherwise, I think I'm pretty close to done with the Oliveira experiment. I'm not seeing any improvement in his time here at all, and often when we call his number it results in a dead play.
