Masoli, talk about Jekyll and Hyde. If he isnt the answer in Hamilton, they be in trouble.

Not within the borders of this province anyways....

Didn't want to participate in O'Shea's daily good guy hug circle?
-
I would have thought he'd finish out the year with O'Shea.
-
Fair enough but they were atleast poking around and were open to the idea.

I would say Trestman is much less opposed to change(cutting OL Brandon Washington, trading Shawn Lemon, benching Franklin) when guys are not producing, and is open to bringing in guys who are not "great guys" but great football players (interest in Duron Carter).

Agree 100%. For the most part its the authoritarians(ie:a-holes) that produce the results and championships. If you look at the "nice guy" coaches in both the CFL and NFL, their track record is not good and they don't have a long shelf life. Players coach=mediocrity.

Agreed. O'Shea's blind loyalty drives me ****ing nuts. Its like the Hurl fiasco. The guy was a pilon but we just got fed the same "we like where he's at", "he's doing what were asking him to do", "i dont worry about sam hurl" bull**** week after week. Its like the guy would rather sit in the locker room singing kumbaya with a bunch of wonderful guys who are great to their mothers and would lay their jacket across a puddle for a lady, rather then actual football players with talent that may not be buddy-buddy. A lot of the greats are dicks. There are many examples of locker rooms that didnt necessarily all like each-other but won championships.

Heard Nichols' interview from today after practice and he was asked about the boos and his post-game comments. His response was along the lines of "i didnt really mean it, ive been booed before, i dont know why it got so blown out of proportion". A little bit of backtracking. He sure sounded like he meant it at the time.

This is another thing ive been noticing with Nichols too. He HATES getting hit. I mean, all QB's don't like to get hit(except for Reilly it seems) but ive noticed whenever Nichols gets hit he gets up pissed and tends to get yappy with teammates. And like clockwork his play starts to tank. Our o-line has been borderline dominant the last couple years so he's been very lucky and has nothing to complain about. I remember the Hamilton game where we were up by 2 scores and moving the ball with ease, then Larry Dean yanked his face mask and he got beat up in the pocket. Right on cue his game went south and the Tiger Cats roared back. Its not the first time its happened. When he gets hit, he wilts. We all joke about hitting Kevin Glenn early and taking him out of the game. We might have our own KG....

Streveler has that Dunigan vibe in him. When his time comes(hopefully not with another team), itll be fun to watch.

This is exactly the issue. Matt Nichols is not a gunslinger. He is the anti-Mike Reilly. The CFL version of Trent Dilfer, except he doesnt have Jamal Lewis running the ball 30 times a game(even though i love me some Andrew Harris), and he doesnt have the 2000 Baltimore Ravens defense behind him. Farrrrrrrrrrrrrr from it. Based on Nichols' skill set Lapo has designed a run heavy, methodical, ball control offense thats predicated on not turning the ball over and eating the clock. When the game gets 2 or 3 scores away from us, its over. Even if Lapo made in-game adjustments(it sure doesnt appear that he does), Nichols aint gonna drop a 450 yard 4 TD line to rally us from a 31-10 deficit. Its not his game. And with a rusty, slumping Matt Nichols the margin for error is that much smaller. Our only hope is that Nichols wakes the F up and the defense gets their s*** together. Im not holding my breath on that last one.
