  1. Dont agree with that at all. Its why a rotational player who didnt live up to his hype like kongbo was a top pick. If they were very close in talent and development the ratio would be a none issue. The difference in polish and skill level between a 4 year cis starter and a guy who rotates for 2 years and starts for 1 year in d1 is big at every position. A prolific 4 year starter from a big school is far more skilled and developed then the best cis players ever. The gap has closed from what it used to be, but its still substantial. Virtually any division 1 player with a canadian passport will be taken in the top half of the draft every time. Yes the gap is greatest at qb. The advantage canadians have is a familiarity with the game up here. Which helps early but disappears with experience. Meanwhile the imp qb has far higher potential. But on the other hand, we are putting serious work into developing world players in this league now. And those guys are just as far out as canadian qbs. I think itd be fine to have 1 free PR spot for a canadian qb. They are canadian, if they start they should count against the ratio. Roster a canadian qb, sure get an extra DI. But its not a serious issue. In the last 30 ish years how many times has a team been in this situation? 2 or 3?
  2. Either he didnt have the option and it was fake read option, or he can not read to save his life. It never looked like he was reading the end or any one else on run plays or like the design was meant to create that situation. Charles fischer has some fantastic break downs on read option offense on his site and on his youtube channel. Its basic enough any one can watch a few minutes of video see what the qb is doing and then watch streveler in his package and see its either not read option or its the worst run and coached read option in football at any level.
  3. Yeah that was in place to prevent teams from using a 3rd qb as a DI and having 2 "qbs" on the field at one time. Some ones gonna have to do a deep dive on the rule book to figure out of thats still in place. Not crazy about streveler as a DI with a 2nd qb on the field tbh. Its just too convoluted when we werent even running basic option stuff well. Our option package didnt have any read and actual option play. It was more to disguise the ball carrier and try to get the defense going the wrong way on the snap. Id love to see some real option plays but idk if we have the people to implement it. With streveler (assuming hes back) harris and demski we have enough ball carriers and potential for complexity. Id rather see that focus spent on improving our passing attack to be middle of the pack or better, and with out large gaps in where we can throw it.
  4. Stopped him from moving well in the pocket the last two years. Seems a foregone conclusion that they bring him back I just hope it's not at big money or as a defacto starter.
  5. I wonder if buck will be OC + QB coach. Should be some decent coin saved under the coaches cap. Be nice to pick up another guy to develop. Is markus howell a FA right now?
  6. It wouldn't be the end of the world. Hard to imagine repeating with all the NFL talent lost but the off season is long and many things can change. Nichols plus a first vs collaros is going to be an interesting decision. I think the next thing for the Canadian mafia to work on is a qb that can be elite and dominate. They have the security to invest the time in development now. So I hope McGuire and streveler are back if they can be that guy. And I hope that the youth movement isn't repressed by some one who won't lose games when 100%
  7. The third Jumanji was pretty good. Nice popcorn movie.
  8. Since the chat room problems of the previous season GD chat has been diying. Not being able to ignore in chat makes it worse. Should just roll gdt and dump chat at this point imo. It's almost dead any ways.
  9. BLM isn't the best in the league and didn't look good much of last year. Going the safe vet way is the opposite of what's made this stamps dynasty.
  10. The Easter eggs of the dark saber and him as a kid being saved by a mandalorian bearing the mark of house visla were epic.
  11. Or Ottawa. If any team learned the pains of not having a true no1 qb last year it was them. Both can't be gone soon enough. Alot with Maas and Hervey they are in the top tier of crap
  12. He's a valuable play maker with the ball in his hands but he is not reliable as a pass catcher in getting open or catching little on blocking. Giving him a package with 10 plays where he is the first read designed around his skill set would allow him to produce much more with much fewer reps. And in the mean time get a more steady player on the field when he isn't being targeted.
  13. Watched the hail Satan doc on Netflix and it was brilliant. Strongly recommend it.
  14. No one is taking Harris out. He could offer more in short yardage and teams then Augustine though. And you don't need to be taking eithers spot to practise. Id like to see both start and demski be the rotational package guy playing out of the backfield as much as any thing. Line him up in a 2 back set then watch some one try to cover him deep from a back field assignment
  15. I'd say 40% chance the league gets pushed back a year and 25% that they don't play a game. 95% chance it's irrelevant in terms of tv and attendance and as a pro League 1 week into the regular season. 0% chance they have a third off season.
  16. Probably got an upfront bonus of some sort to lubricate the drop. If any thing I would think Arbuckle wants a chance to start and be the no1. Which a few teams could give him.
  17. Too soon to tell if we could start an ni at RB if Harris went down. We could've this year but went with flexibility else where. I wonder if he had a set back. He was supposed to be close to practising around when Harris came back but never did. I think ni wr is more interesting. Both woli and Peterman are ready for far bigger roles in the offense.
  18. I don't think a healthy Brady backs up Augustine. But having all three ni RBS on the team is a huge value.
  19. what hot garbage
  20. When a wr has a bunch of blocks on his high lights, i get excited. Especially when they are big.
  21. 100%. He brought about alot of the talent roll over that would become the great calgary teams after that but got no dues for that at all.
  22. yeah he was pretty bad too. Oc by committee at one point in the dark ages was pretty bad too.
  23. Bellefeuille was hired to be their OL coach as well. Probably my all time least favorite OC. A sentiment I think many fans of his former teams share.
  24. Sutior rides the riders nuts. Milt is objective and not an out right homer. He played with a ton of swagger and enjoys seeing it from units around the league. I respect that he doesnt just wear blue tinted glasses. Matty is the say way.
  25. Foggs coverage skills were not good. He did however have an amazing knack for turn overs. Picks, FF, and FR. He was a really dangerous returner, despite being too much of a hitter he tackled very well for a db. He did a good job getting up on run plays and coming over off his man to make tackles. His coverage though, man it was rough. He was picked on more then any other db on the team in his time here. Its also why he was frequently demoted to be the dime DB and not a starter. His decision making and technical cover skills just werent good. A scout doesnt just scout rookies out of the league. A huge portion of scouting is looking at guys in the league that come available and recognizing under valued assets. Just like randle, rose and others. If any thing this management group has done a fantastic job scouting other teams players and picking up under valued guys. Guys like Nichols, collaros, hardrick, darvin adams, fenner, maston, miller, remple, demski, Janarion grant (ham TC), and craig roh, all came here and peaked while we bought low. Hardrick was cut by bc, collaros was dirt cheap, nichols was cheaper, adams was fairly low key pick up etc. Harris, nevis, WJ, medlock, and bighill, were all highly touted names in FA but they all lived up or exceeded expectations.
