  1. Too many guys playing shitty to be honest...in no order at all I think the following have underachieved this season...I think more was expected of them...The season is still young and there is lots of time to turn it around but I don't see a lot of signs pointing to it. Ladd Myers Buff Chiarot Lowry Burmi Trouba Perrault
  2. I'd do that trade in a heartbeat.I still think that the way Burmi has been handed a job has hurt our team chemistry. I'd add Postma but Chiarot showed something last year and this year in pre-season and I'm not willing to give up on him yet. He has got to get in gear though.
  3. Schenn for Burmi straight up.
  4. Honestly, I don't think they have played a full 60 minutes in any game this year.
  5. Fro is far from the reason we are struggling. Scheif, Ehlers, Burmi, Lowry, Copp and Petan are all very young and I would much rather see them learn now rather than later..... A couple of wins and this forum will look completely different.
  6. Rather see him spend a summer with Bobby Orr or Serge Savard. He's still young and Chevy is showing patience with him but he was a liability during that Wolves' game. It seemd 90% of the game was in the Wolves' end but they scored on almost every half decent shot they had. I hope Helle had an off night because he will never play in the NHL playing like that.
  7. TUP, Here is one of the owners with more power than 8-10 of the "lesser" markets....is this okay with you that one owner should have that much power? http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/fischlers-one-timers-dont-tamper-with-traditional-net-size-jacobs-calling-the-shots-on-expansion/
  8. How many Chicken Littles are on here? Too many to count. Name me one D man that has played well or consistent this year.....I know, you can't. Charlie Huddy is not the problem. If Myers had a mean streak, he would be a Norris candidate.......he doesn't. If Buff played the way he did last year during the injuries, he would be a Norris candidate....he isn't. Trouba, Enstrom and Stuart are playing horrible and Chiarot doesn't deserve to dress the way he is playing. Ladd is hurt, Scheif is in a funk, we have a LOT of young players finding their way in the big league and our 4th line gets 5 minutes a game. The only way to get better is to go back to the way they were playing last year and win the little battles first, then, go from there. Trading players for the sake of a trade is a desperation move and I highly doubt Chevy will do it.
  9. You can't build a team in the NHL near as fast as the CFL so, no, the sky isn't falling. We are playing a LOT of youngsters, Scheif, Burmi, Lowry, Copp, Petan and Ehlers for instance. That's about 1/3 of our roster and I am sure the management knew there would be bumps in the road with the young guys. Better to have them learn now than in the future when we should be contending. Should we trade Buff and/or Ladd. I honestly don't know. If we got great returns, I would say yes but I think patience is what's needed. Let's see where we are after the New Year, at least, to see if we should make serious changes. Obviously, Goalie is right about Burmi or why would Maurice put him on the 3rd line. he should be playing better/smarter for how long he has been in the pros. I don't know how anyone can argue that he doesn't over handle the puck. How was Pavelec in yesterday's game? I know it is only one game but I didn't think that much of Helle in last night's game. If he had come up with one or two saves when the team needed it, the end result might have been different.
  10. Oh ya, I'm guessing this wasn't one of Helle's better games.
  11. anyone know what the lines were? Was Lowry playing with Burmi and Staf?
  12. Well, there's a reason Morrissey isn't with the Jets......he isn't playing that well at all. Lipon, Olsen, De Leo, Kichton, Hali, and cormier all played well. Most of the play was in the Wolves' zone but they couldn't finish.
  13. That'll be a stiff challenge for Maurice and coaching staff.
  14. The lines I would like to see tonight... Ladd Petan Little or Ladd Little Petan Ehlers Scheif Wheeler Perrault Lowry Stafford Burmi Copp Thorbs
  15. I'm going to the game against the Wolves on the 12th. Gonna keep my eye on a few including Morrissey. I am anxious to see either Helle or Comrie play in person.
  16. Sorry, had to.
  17. Myers for Abdelkader and Tatar.
  18. Lowry's line is goingup against the ither team's top lines this year..... It is obvious the management is okay to live with the mistakes of the youngsters and hope that they peak all around the same time.....don't want to many youngsters making rookie mistakes when we are honest contenders....better to deal with it now.
  19. The thing is, they want to make money and they don't care about the smaller market teams or the consequences across the league.... But, hey you guys keep on praising Bettman, he's great!
  20. Who drove the price of salaries/tickets up? The fans? The players? No, the GMs (owners) that are willing to pay more than a player is worth.
  21. Bettman is a puppet for the owners and I shouldn't say owners because there is a group of more powerful owners that get things done. If you think the owner's (on whole) are interested in anything but making a buck, I hae a bridge in Lockport to sell you. If Bettman created or did/does anything, it is because he is told to do so.
  22. No, the game could have progressed quite nicely, even if it wasn't driven by greed. I'm glad you're happy paying that ticket price to see some very average players getting paid millions of dollars because that's what been determined for us, by the owners, and the player's association. Who's business is it? I mean sure, you could open a hot dog stand and decide to give away the hot dogs or you could have average hotdogs and lower prices. or you could feature the best hot dogs available and sell them for as much as people are willing to spend because the whole point of opening a hot dog stand was to make money. Sorry, I cant fault business owners for wanting to make money. Most of us were thrilled the Jets make so much on tickets because it means they will be here and be profitable. Bettman created Bean environment where the Winnipeg Jets could come here and thrive. Its possible that the NHL would be good as a 24 team regional league. But that wasnt going to remain. It just wasnt. bettman didnt invent big business. He didnt invent expanding sports leagues. He didnt hurt the game or take it away from the fans. Another wow.
  23. How many work stoppages were there before Bettman? How many after? Saying he alienated the Canadian fans is an understatement. The Coyotes are still in AZ and they shouldn't be. Move them already. How do the players in AZ feel with all this uncertainty hanging over their heads? He's the biggest weasel I have ever seen. Most owners love him so what does that tell you?
  24. Wow, just wow...
  25. He has been asked to play a more defensive, checking role. He is on the "checking" line. LOTS of players are streaky...Wheeler has been in the past and you could argue the same about Scheifele. I think Staf has played well in his new. Also, I can't see how anyone can say that Burmi doesn't over handle the puck...Next game, count how many times he is checked (usually in the O zone) instead of making a pass....Petan does too but not as much and usually sees a pass first....Ehlers handles the puck lots too but he is a very good passer. I will be the first to admit I was unsure about him. He picks up his D game and the Jets have a superstar in the making.
