  1. Blue and gold fans, Damn stadium out by the university.
  2. Would wonder how Chamblin feels about himself today.
  3. Yet, some of the Argo players played like they gave a damn.
  4. Was it against Ottawa two weeks ago that he bust his finger? Is a two week old broken finger considered “healthy” for a receiver? I dunno.
  5. The offer of free land on University land is compelling. Not a new concept. Free land to Eastern Europeans is how Western Canada was developed. Coughing up 50 mil in lieu of fed money, and coughing up millions for any other location would make anyone think twice. The politics and funding of the construction was a lot of work. Creative even. Glad the city pulled it off. Location is what it is. The building is gorgeous. Inevitably we grow into the location.
  6. Most bomber fans would know most of this story. IG Field was built through Asper and others lobbying the federal government for assistance through the infrastructure program. The infrastructure program was to help public initiatives by Universities. The stadium was only given approval because it was on the free land at the U of M and it’s use was for the school. 50 million dollars were provided by the feds with the free land making it affordable. We know the budget was to be 150 million dollars. No way would that stadium come in at under 150 without the two key components. It’s a bargain. The newly opened, at that time, MTS Center was a jewel for the citizens. It contributed to reviving a downtown area. Happy populous. With the success of the MTS Center, a lot of peggers wanted to further invigorate the downtown area with a brand spanking new football venue. Locations were discussed. Transportation and parking would not have been a problem as more people work downtown than what a stadium would hold. This pricier option was ideal. I find people that are dissatisfied with the current location prefer the downtown option. That’s were many people work, and would not be dissimilar to a jet game with the downtown pregame excitement that is generated. I would suggest the dissatisfaction is as a result of what could have been when the opportunity was there for the whole package. Yet they still understand the economics. Our stadium, as Bob Irving recently wrote, is the jewel of the CFL. Many cities have stadiums out in hell’s half acre. Peggers just aren’t use to seeing the city grow in this manner.
  7. Oh geez tracker, I almost left the comment up here. By golly, I’m bilingual, English and Vulgarian.
  8. Typically It’s a degree of standard deviation used in process control reporting during manufacturing to reduce variation and waste. The less the deviation, the tighter the result of the product. A lay persons explanation. I’d suspect Eternal Optimist is an engineer or Quality fella in the aerospace industry or Duha Group as they are large employers in the city that utilize Six Sigma.
  9. Lol, Cactus, Stew and Ray. CJAY’s alternate office at The Paddock.
  10. Point 7. R^2 value = .0872 is objective proof you win the argument.
  11. That would be a best practise and wise thing to do.
  12. The team was penalized 10 yards for objectionable conduct. Rule 7 - Fouls and penalties, section 4 - objectionable conduct, g. Unnecessary physical contact with an official. https://cfldb.ca/rulebook/fouls-and-penalties/objectionable-conduct/ no mention of fines. Objectionable Conduct Physical Abuse can bring a disqualification as a game penalty. No charge of abuse in this case and addresses the question offered by Geeber. https://www.cfl.ca/game-rule-penalties/ Id see the CFLPA challenging the discipline as “overkill”. Is the league, CFL, emboldened because of having the understandable and significant arbitration win over the Lawrence discipline?
  13. We have the leagues view. We have the players view. I suppose it’s unnecessary to contact the official for his view.
  14. I haven’t seen sigma referenced in years. Thorough authoritative work you did there EO.
  15. Wow. Wasn’t aware that the Banks type of contact was considered unnecessary. Players will need to give a wide berth when the whistles are blown to let the officials perform their functions without “Unnecessary contacted”.
  16. I’d agree with the point. Yup. Cleats hurt! Could say he was protecting himself. A natural reaction. The official is heavier than banks. Im wondering if walking together, ”joined”, became the officials issue. Who gets to have personal space at the point of initial contact. The play was over. We don’t see the Banks offered evidence in completeness before the two got together. Incidental, momentary contact happens frequently enough. Couple of seasons ago Carter pranced half the distance of the field to chest bump coach Campbell. Carter claimed he had a head injury.
  17. I just reviewed 7 minutes of video of the game. Couldn’t find it. That’s about the only effort I’ll put into the research. The charge “unnecessary contact with an on field official”. Murkier wording than nudging, bumping or face licking.
  18. Good luck getting a meeting with Ambrosie, BB. File a grievance. Would like to see his contact with the ref though.
