Not true, a lot of our backups are doing quite well this season, ie Adcock, Williams, Toston, Clark, Guyton, etc. The problems have been backup QB & MLB.Rider fans everywhere after seeing their backups fail are huddled in a corner rocking back and forth repeating the words "Darian is coming" over and over again.
And nobody can deny what our starting QB means to this team. 8-2 with him as starter, 1-7 with him out. Just look how Edm did this season without Reilly.

The six game injury list is only in name. This past game was his 7th game on the 6gm injury list and therefore can be plucked off at any time. I never knew this is how it worked either so it's smart keeping him on there until he is ready.
Like was mentioned on the telecast last night, Durant will likely be back this season.

Other than QB & MLB I don't think our depth has been that bad. I'd like to see someone other than Rod Williams on the corner.
No typical Taman is to pay a premium for starters and star players and save money by neglecting the depth. How is this not exactly what is going on in Saskatchewan? Trust us, we watched Taman GM our team longer than he's been in Saskatchewan. There's a certain way he operates and that really hasn't changed.
Agreed that our backups haven't stepped up at all this season but to say this is typical Taman is nonsense as our backup last year is Winnipeg's new saviour. Taman can't win em all, a lot of folks thought Sunseri had what it takes to step in, too Jekyll & Hyde however.

But where other than MLB & QB are the Riders struggling depth-wise? IMO the only teams with better depth than ours is Cgy & Edm. Can't control the fact that we lost 2 starting Canadians in Butler & Shologan in the offseason & overall Taman has done a decent job with the draft. You guys claim Taman hasn't built depth yet our backup last season is now your starter. Name me a GM that recruits a starter quality QB each season? you can't.
but the point you're not seeing is that the team had some good depth but it's starting to erode and that's a Taman MO. Worry about the starters more than the backups, worry about today more than tomorrow. That said, there is nothing stopping the team from loading up again this upcoming offseason just like we did last year.

Yup it's all about the playoffs. I hope the Bombers win today so that it remains interesting before playoffs.If the team plays as well today as it did against the Stamps, we have a good shot at winning. Getting into the playoffs is another kettle of fish altogether.

Nope not at all. But when you lead the league in 2 & outs it means your D is on the field way too much. We've shown that we can be very good on defence, just have to shore up a few things. It's all about how you play in playoffs.1 - 6 and giving up over 30 ppg, the offence isn't alone in the blame.

You missed the point. With a lead like we had going into the 4th we shoulda been running the ball, not throwing bombs. When Riders were winning in the first half of season we were running the ball in the 4th quarter. We had a fresh RB who was playing well and we went completely away from it. I think we only had 11 rush attempts all game which is a season low. Everyone & their dog could tell that KJ was getting tired in the 4th, but they still call passing plays & completely forget about Toston. smh
Yeah if only that ***** hadn't been so stubborn and stopped calling for the qb to throw interceptions. I tell you what I even saw a touchdown pass from Joseph that with a better angle by the DB could have been a pick. When the qb is turning the ball over like that you really can't blame the OC. That's all on the qb not taking care of the football. Riders got desperate and botched their qb situation badly when Durant got hurt no point making excuses for it because that's what it is plain and simple. They ruined the confidence of Sunseri and Doege and hitched their wagon to a retired qb who was never that good to start with.IMO the loss tonight was 100% on coaching. Cortez is the most stubborn OC ever, so frustrating.

Folded like a house of cards tonight. Very disappointing.
One positive, last two weeks we showed we can go toe to toe with the top teams in the west even without our QB. Be interesting to see what happens with Durant back. IMO the loss tonight was 100% on coaching. Cortez is the most stubborn OC ever, so frustrating.

Also, he is likely struggling as he is slowly coming to the realization that the Riders Grey Cup chances are largely beyond their own control. They are simply not a good enough team to play their best and win the game. They need to play their best and pray the other team simultaneously craps the bed to have any realistic chance.
It's a crappy feeling that he does not feel like discussing. Can't blame him for that really. Bomber fans know all about it. This has nothing to do with your QB. If you think that you are a QB away from a Grey Cup you are delusional. Your team took a huge leap backwards in terms of skill level and competitiveness this season. Over the past few weeks this has been thoroughly exposed. Teams have figured out how to beat the Rider defence and that was the teams saving grace this season. Durant, no Durant, it doesn't matter....the Riders will get creamed by Edmonton in the playoffs.
So, in summary, do I think the Riders took a huge step backwards this year? YES....I think that even most Rider fans would agree with that statement. In fact, they have Do I think that they will continue to get worse before they get better? YES. That is Taman's M.O. and he is sticking to script thus far. In Winnipeg we have been shown this same movie on several occasions and not to be a spoiler...it doesn't end well.
Even though it's still got to be considered and extreme longshot, all the return of Durant in time for the playoffs would do is raise the Riders chances of winning a playoff game from non-existent to improbable.

But after listening the Chamblin tonight it sounds like Durant is only on the 6 game for SMS reasons and that he can still be pulled off & play in Game 18 & the playoffs. So the wager is still a go....A troll being banned is a good day on a fan forum. A GREAT day is when a troll leaves on his own because the membership beat him to a pulp. Congrats fellow MBB members!!
