Pine Tar & rosin are allowed to be used, by anyone except the pitcher, to help grip the ball. FWIW, the Mets do not have an issue with this. However I heard when someone got suspended this year, they did a poll and many players didnt mind pitchers using tar cuz it gave them better control of the ball and it lessed wild pitches Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
