  1. I'm reading all these posts and thinking back to last year and the conversations... No more than 225 for Lawler, I believe I read... And so it was, 300,000 so dollars, Lawler left for greenier pastures to Edmonton.. Now this year.. Lawler is exploring for top dollar again and I do understand negotiations. Both sides will be doing the back and forth, crap.... but here in Wpg, there is a salary structure that is followed and used.... So, first and most important, we have #10 back and signed for 3 years. Happy, happy here!! It appears #83 probably will be back and that was something to watch last year... Yep, I said wow, many times!!! Nice find there scouting staff, as well... Now in saying that, #83 I think will get a bump in his compensation, which is first thing ahead of any incoming receiver, even if its Lawler... Don't get me wrong, I like Lawler as a Bomber, want him back, but at 1 million over 3, I don't think so... Again, over the last few weeks, we talked about our listed roster receivers playing a more important role, plus other potential receivers coming here to Wpg... the likes of Wieneke (Als) from MN, Steven Sunbar Jr (Cats) and Reggie White Jr (Als), who could provide the necessary level of play for out team and very much affordable. That number of 225 still sounds better than 333000/year, when you have #10, #83, #82 locked up and the likes of #84, #14 ready to go and #88 wanting to sign. Sadly, I must say, for that last receiver, the talent is available elsewhere! This is a great organization, players do want to come here.
  2. Its been time stamped Feb 14th, the rest of CFL nation are now in time out....
  3. Of course you have guys down south like "Boomer Esiason" & others and their thoughts on the CFL, its players or the style of play in the CFL... Schoen will be a welcomed addition to the Bombers and the CFL fans....
  4. thanks, yep saw the "The" after I submitted it... any way, just been a little slow around here, but I know there's a good solid 2 plus weeks left, until the real fun starts....
  5. Was waiting for this comment and I'm sure there probably has been some conversation about the Big Smoke!!!!
  6. and missing out in playing in that nice stadium... what's wrong with him?
  7. now that is funny stuff, Mark & Tracker!!! Honestly, loads of people pay large amounts of money to hear those comments/lines....
  8. Does this sound like, "The Fight is On" when it comes to contract debate!!!!!
  9. Yep, Tracker... in my earlier 2 comments I was leaning towards the Bombers getting something in return from the Riders, in some way for an experienced o-linemen, that probably will be soughted after when free agency arrives.
  10. Thanks, Colin.... just a thought and a suggestion, with a possible add to our team roster come opening camp... I know he's from BC and that's probably be his first wish to go back home,,,
  11. In my opinion, if I were Sask.... I'd be speed dialing KW and doing a deal with the Bombers to get Couture's rights and signing him ASAP.... A 3rd or 4th rounder in this years draft would work or a swap of free agent rights like Justin McInnis or Justin Herdman-Reed for Couture...
  12. Congrats to Nathan on his New Years announcement... And I guess Jan 9th will be the next day to watch for. Only comment/question I have, Christmas break is over, does Mark H. get real cranky in the New Year?
  13. The 1 a day annoucements is a nice touch giving our players their due fan/media attention.....
  14. Question, Gang..... Who of you have listened to the latest podcast by Dunk and Hodge of 3 down nation? Of interest to me was their commentary regarding Kyle Walters future, the Blue Bomber General Manager situation going forward, Walters a no show at the Mike O'Shea presser, Wade Miller limited comments and lack of a contract for Walters.... He still is under contract and why the need to have a renewed contract, is my first question. Also, information and stuff getting out to the general public is pretty much guarded by the Bomber brass, over the past few years.... Hodge should know that by now, I would think.... To me, I believe 3 down is filling time right now... Who is signing players right now, the Ass't GM's or is it Walters? Once Rourke signs down south all will get quiet here in the Peg and 3 down's time will be filled...
  15. Yes and on Saturday the Bombers announced signing Cole Adamson as well... Agree with you on Lawson getting more reps, but believe the Cdn D-Tackle situation is being looked into (a vet of many years, 2020 draft pic and of course last years draft pic).
  16. Let's think back, to the day when Darian Durant, was a Bomber for a short term... Crappy things happen...Now there is someone I'm glad FO... Just to keep the topic on course....
  17. Perhaps, but prior to this year in the CFL, Schoen's NFL tryouts didn't produce much and now his age maybe a factor . Selfish wise, I hope all works out for him, but hopefully he lands up back here with us for a few years.
  18. Whyte moved back home to White Rock, I'd say the Lions are going to be his last team. I agree with you Noeller, need to let Leggs develop and get the playing time...
  19. Agree with your comments regarding our kickers past and present, especially Lirim Hajrullahu. That was sad and I'm seeing things haven't changed, as it happening, again with Leggs. There are a few in here who love to complain for the sake of complaining, perhaps taking a lead from the provincial green supporters to the west of us. Now, I commented last year regarding an outing that Leggs had in which he struggled, supporting the Bombers and Leggs. Well a die heart responsed, upset no less "I don't agree, I expect perfection" from our kicker(s) and of course the sky was falling... Apparently in Bomberland, our kickers & at times players/coaches on our team can't have down days (2 Grey Cups, last minute loss in past 3 Grey Cup games) and with each outing the Bombers did play an opposing team, I believe. In my opinion, the current management group is fully aware of things and do address situations when required, including the players. Been a Bomber fan since the early 1960's, don't comment here very often as I'm just a fan and not an expert, but have coached (not football) in my younger days. Had Bomber season tickets, now a 5 game flex holder (and sometimes extra or out of town game), have sat in both stadiums, yelled at TV sets, listened to Bob, etc. Yes, there are things that upset and bother me, but going on and on about a situation, I just pump the brakes. Yes, love the off season stuff which is upon us: (gm's/coach movement late Nov/Dec and Jan, free agents signings in Dec/Jan/Feb, draft stuff in Mar/Apr and actual draft in early May, training camps start late May). Fun times!
  20. Hope he catches on down there, he's a good receiver... Secondly, will give some of there Rider posters talking about their team rather than how terrible the Bombers and our fan base is. their*
