WTF! Holy smokes. Thats a big one.
Someone more familiar with all the players, dissect this one and tell me how I should feel about it!
This is a whole lot of mediocre hockey players swapping places. The only reason it's a big deal is because its Toronto and Ottawa. If this deal happened between Florida and Tampa Bay it would barely be discussed.

If they are looking for someone to give some energy and play on the 4th line, wonder if Lipon gets his shot.
Lipon is injured i believe. So is Raffl.

Well now I have no idea - I figured he'd just play tonight and then be called back up. The fact that he's down for an extended period is surprising to me.
The question now is who do they call up to take his place? Will it be Armia, or will they go with old reliable Cormier...
Speaks alot about the depth of our NHL roster when you look at our options at forward when we're 100% healthy.

Wasn't he playing wing last night?
He's been playing wing ever since he went to the 4th Line. Copp has always been the centre there.

Lol. Moose play tonight. Jets not till Friday. He's on his ELC. He will be back up b4 Friday and in the lineup unless a trade is coming. Seriously. The benefit of having your ahl team in the same city. That simple.
If thats the only reason so be it but if that was the case I'd expect this type of thing to happen more often. lol
It's rare that the Jets and Moose are both at home at the same time (Usually the other is on the road when one has home games). Its exactly this. If he's not back up for Friday vs NYR, then we can start busting out the pitchforks.

I like this - Some of their new stuff is pretty good and has made its way into my Bus playlist. Could've been alot worse. I'll be watching

The other issue is the pics. I'm not doubting their veracity but I am. Angle. Height. Vantage point.
They will end up trying to lessen the thick poles and railings but it is what it is.
This is my feeling as well. *Some shots I've seen of "obstructed" views look like the main problem was the cameraman centering the floor in the shot, not the rink itself. That said, it's another reason I feel the very last 2-3 rows in each section are some of the best.
Agreed on the back rows being the best.. My season seats are in 305 row 12 (which is the back row) and I couldn't be happier.

Yeesh, 2 strikes already. Time to get off the Robert Marve train. I'll take Nick Moore this week.

Wow Saad being traded is a shocker. I figured he was one of few "untouchable" players in Chicago along with Kane, Toews and Keith. Guess not.

Love the Stafford signing, good term and good value. Really solidifes our Top 6 now.
Ladd-Little-Perrault
Wheeler-Schiefele-Stafford
Plus Lowry to centre the third line with (hopefully) a returning Stempniak + 1 (Ehlers, although if he makes the team he probably plays Top 6), then Copp, Thorburn and X on the 4th Line.
This was a signing we needed to make with Frolik leaving. That line was really good for us down the stretch last year.

Lucic to the Kings is a done deal it sounds like. Bruins getting LAK 1st rounder, Martin Jones + more.
Tough day for Bruins fans. They are in full on rebuild now. And Lucic on the Kings is terrifying.

Huuuuuuuuuuge loss for the Bruins, just how I like it. Calgary did give up a lot in return to be fair.
I just saw where the Avs gave Soderberg 4.75 per year for 5 years....wow.
Alot of people are assuming the Frolik contract would be somewhere in that neighborhood for AAV as well (possibly a bit higher), but thats your minimum for Frolik now.

I think it starts at 6? I could be wrong though. Regardless I'm at work until 8:30 so I'll be following along on Twitter.

Hamilton is the type of player that you pay to keep. Think of it this way - if the Jets traded Trouba away for this same return next summer (When he's an RFA), there would be an uproar right? That's how bad this trade is for Boston.
I had read rumors that they were talking about moving Lucic too, which would've opened up the cap room to sign Hamilton. So either that fell through or they just didn't think they could get him signed. Either way, this is a HUGE loss for the Bruins.
Ill defer to your opinion as Im not overly familiar with Hamilton and the Bruins. Sounds like Lucic deal still possible...to Vancouver? If Hamilton is Truba-esque then no, I would not do that deal.
He was the heir-apparent to Chara on the top D pairing there, so losing him is a big deal. If they also trade Lucic then I guess they're entering full rebuild mode.
Boston fans are not happy - Just go read the Bruins subreddit.

If the Jets managed to move up to #3 I'd be ecstatic. You're getting a player that is #1 quality in any other year (regardless of who they'd take, there's 3 or 4 good options). I hope they can pull it off, but I'm not getting my hopes up yet.

You have to figure that any time the Jets are on the road for an extended time, the Moose will be at home to play at MTS. The one good thing is that there will probably be hockey at the MTS centre 5 nights a week in the Winter.
Also, I suspect the Moose will have a few home games during the grey cup week since the Jets are away. Another "attraction" for out of towners to take in, since Jets games will always be sold out.

The deal is basically Phaneuf for Michalek. All of the other players involved are playing in the AHL or are prospects. This deal will have very little impact on the NHL level.
