Neufeld would step in if Couture wasn't able to go
Yes agreed I didn't see him in the list above so I forgot about him he isn't on the PR or listed on the 46 above so he would have to be on the 1 Game INJ if Couture plays otherwise if Couture can't go it will be Neufeld Unless he truly is INJ in the practice which is very possible with Neufeld.

I agree with the exceptions that I think C. Johnson will play over Jeffcoast
and Spooner may have to dress if Couture can't play he was one of the walking wounded at yesterdays practice.

Any idea who #19 is at the Bomber practice today Blaszko is #88 and #19 was beside him however we don't have a 19 on the roster.
-
In looking at the Bombers roster other than the Thin Import LB issue it seems we are razor thin with our National numbers
We currently have 22 listed on the Roster however at least 2 of those Coates and Richards are INJ and Miles didn't play in either Exhibition Game so I would assume he is INJ as well however I haven't officially see that. It could be the Bombers expect Coates and Miles to be available within the next 2 weeks and all reports are Richards will miss many games. So If the one of those 2 Coates or Miles can't play in the first game or another NAT get injured between now and the first game they will have to dip into the practice roster however there isn't much they can do to add a NAT that would contribute.
I checked other teams and most had 25 or more NATS listed on their current roster so I am concerned that the Bombers might run into problem with their NAT Depth and they probably should have keep Warden and Butcher and possibly a few others ?

I thought Liggins might make it onto the PR but with Washington having a decent showing last night and the perceived love for Lankford there is only so much room for import WR's on the PR.
Wild card was potentially cutting Kenny Stafford, I haven't really heard his name much in camp but I assume after cutting Liggins (and a few more last week) that his job seems to be safe for now.
As for Stafford agreed he hasn't done much however he is a 4 year CFL vet with a Grey Cup is fairly young at 27 and also a connection to Nichols so assuming he isn't being paid that much I think the Bombers will keep him.

Richards is out long-term. I doubt we see him any time soon.
Yes it sounded like Richards would be out 6 Weeks or so however he has been out for 2 weeks already and we have a first week bye so he might miss the first 2 games depending on what injury he has.
-
I would be supprised in Yachison makes the team depending on how long Richards and Coates are out we don't really need 3 backups to JFG so if Coates or Richards is available for Week one ( and its 2+ weeks away ) I think Yachison will be cut and they will try and sign him to the PR.
-
I went through the roster and these are the players that will not be in either of the exhibition games.
Short Term Injuries : Maurice Leggett DB, Gerrard Sheppard WR ,Matt Coates WR
Longer Term Injuries : Addison Richards WR, Darnell Walker Jr. DB, Ian Marouf DL, Abubakarr Conteh DB
And I haven't heard anything about these 2 players has anyone heard about an Injury ?
Cody Speller OL, Thomas Miles LB

2014 draft was nothing to write home about. Goossen who was a no brainer but still not all that great honestly(but the right pick), Briggs solid ST player but nothing special and Jones who I really like BUT we also picked him over Thomas Miles who was right under our nose.
Walters doesn't seem to like local players he almost tries to avoid taking them and when he does like this year there was no point he could have just invited the Rec from Manitoba no one was going to draft him...

Looking at the 2014 draft again, I'd say only Calgary did better than us.
Imo it's still too early to give a final grade on either 2015 or 2016. Having said that, 2016 was a consensus top 3 draft in early reviews. 2015 is the only one that's concerning to me. Passing on Durant was probably a mistake. I read on Riderfans that Waud was telling teams he'd only play in TO, so he might not be the mistake people think he was. I have no idea if that's true or not though.
I Believe we picked Richards over Waud and picked Morgan over Durant either way I would take Waud over Richards and Durant over Morgan.
So at least 2 mistakes in the 2015 with the Morgan over Durant a real head scratcher ???

BBF, does it not bother you that O'Shea was retained after two seasons of futility, plus his inability to assemble a scouting team to bring in standout players?
It does bother me however I just think that generally speaking GMs get to fire at least one HC before they are canned. I like Walters generally speaking because he have been aggressive at picking up free agents, I didn't like his 2015 draft at all in 2016 I thought he did a much better job.
As for not firing O'Shea I personally had enough of O'Shea him however I believe that Walters gave him the 3rd year because Willy was injured for most of 2015 however its looking like a mistake. I also think nothing will happen even if the loses continue to mount until the attendance starts to drop off dramatically. As much as I have been critical of O'Shea more than Walters I am starting to think that Wade Miller is as much to blame as anyone he promised us improvement and I haven't seen any of it I am not sure what Miller contributes to the Team at this point ? At this point you could fire them all and I think we might be better off assuming that they pick the next Pres that knows how to hire an experience GM ( Like Hervey ) who can then hire an experience and qualified HC and then and only then will we start to see some improvement...

He has had a rough go of it this season entirely. Interior of the OL is getting it handed to them regularly.
Agreed I thought Goosen struggled the first 2 however was better the past 2 and Chungh while not great had a very rough outing vs EDM I think that
Sewell was too much for him he was getting pushed around, I know that Chungh has put on 10 or so pounds this year and I think its hurt him rather
than helped him. -

You miss my point. Walters supporters cite his work on the NI side. Chung is his best pick and he's a solid OL who may become an all star. Really his only hit. Gossen is starting but not playing well. Waggoner is a STer. Richards has done nothing. Morgan is a ster. Briggs Ster. His best NI's have come via free agency, Westerman, Harris and Shologan.
Oh and Lemar Durant over Richards, Waud over Morgan and not a first for Waggoner so we keep the #2 and land Gagnon or another top OL prospect from this year.
Chungh had a horrible game vs EDM that was as bad an individual performance as I have seen by an OL in the CFL he is a Long way to being an All-Star and if the Bombers had more depth I would be replacing him after that performance however the Bombers don't have any options at this time until Keeping is back from the 6 Game. I suggest you watch the game again if you think Chungh has the potential to be an All Star...

Kyle Walters is 13 and 27 as GM, that is a winning percentage of 32.5%, Mack was 21 and 39, that is a winning percentage of 35%. Why do people defend Walters? Let's look at his draft record, who is the standout stud? Chung is a nice prospect, good player, not an all star and he's the best one.
Agreed not much reason to defend Walters however I would say lets give Walters a second Kick at HC like Mack had before we decide.

CFL contracts aren't guaranteed so they can release him if Walters wanted to but he doesn't.
There is a cutoff where you have to pay the player for the remainder of the year I believe it is game 9

If it's any consolation (which it isn't) Willy would not acknowledge that the Stamps relaxed their pressure in the 4th Q which allowed him to put up respectable numbers for the game.
Please note that this interview occurred yesterday, so he did have time to "watch the film". Delusional or worse?
Yes I was supprised at that as well the reported asked his question stating the Corners where playing well off, and Willy didn't give in, even if
Calgary was in their normal defence they clearly has taken their foot off the gas, and after the timeout Willy was sacked and he has an open rec directly in front of him... so like usual put pressure on him and he isn't anywhere near good enough...

your safety leading the league in tackles is not a bright spot.
Agreed but that isn't his fault he had an excellent punt block and he had the biggest hit from the Bombers D after reading all of the negatives about him before the season started I have been impressed he has been much better than advertised...

Agreed Macho Harris has played very well and is one of the few bright spots on the team...

I would keep most of the players however I would look for a true MLB that can actually punish someone, Bass has been a failure so far at MLB and we are clearly weaker in the secondary without Adams and Washington, I would like to see the one of Posey , Fogg get replaced on Thursday hopefully Adams and if not give the DB we got from TO a shot he looked good in the videos I watched of him last year.
I really think you need to fire MOS and get a fresh start before we do a massive purge of players, I think the Bombers need a new direction at the helm if they are to turn things around...
-
What do you want to chat about ? I watched about 30 minutes of Mondays practice and an hour today I like what I see from Lapo's practices and I think Mayo will do well on Friday... And the most impressive thing I saw D. Davis jumped over
Foketi from behind when they moved to another drill.
How does our week 2 roster shape up?

I went to practice for a bit yesterday and was very impressed with L. Washington he looks like he could be the Bombers best deep threat they have had since Chris Matthews, my only concern with him at this point would be his weight it sounds like the Bombers might have listed him a few pounds heavier than his actual weight based on his comments in his interview yesterday. Washington looks like he played in all of his games at Missouri so he must be fairly durable and he was the 25 ranked WR in the 2014 draft class.
Washingtons time of 4.43 is impressive most players in the CFL don't get to go to the NFL Combine so we have to go by their pro days and pro day times are about .05 faster than the NFL Combine so his adjusted pro day time would be about 4.38 and the is extremely fast for a player 6'3" ( Update Washington ran a 4.43 at his pro day still fast but not sub 4.4 )
http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=97276&draftyear=2014&genpos=wr
Roc Carmicheal ran a 4.76 at the NFL combine and a 4.41 at Clemson's Pro day Carmicheals actual time is probably somewhere in between, the point being is Washington should be one of the fastest player on the Bomber and possibly in the league.
