  1. Pierce has regressed every single year hes been here. Its gotten to the point that even if he is healthy enough to play hes a liability on the field.

Edwards and Denmark also don't cut it, it might time to replace them with two of Poblah(for the ratio), Anderson and Doug Pierce. Clearly this team has a lot of issues on the offensive side of the ball, but our defense should be good enough to win us around 8 games this year.

  2. Buck played good for all of about 3 minutes in this game. That period was the only series in the game where he strung together consecutive good throws. Other than that, he threw WAY too many balls to areas where it was up for grabs and he paid for it. It's also becoming painfully obvious that if you're down in the fourth quarter and Buck Pierce is your QB, you will not win. The guy just disappears when it matters.

Dunn was awesome, for as much hassle as I gave him in the preseason.

    Simpson needs more touches.

Etienne put a cheesy smile on my face, I love seeing him succeed.

Washington is just such an electric player to watch.

Good pressure on Calvillo but when Buck stepped down, AC stepped up.

Thought Crowton called a decent game. Impossible to say though, considering he's not calling execution, he's calling formations and options. I didn't really have too many "wtf are we doing" moments compared to the amount of "why didn't we make that play" moments.

Oh, and I thought our trenches were pretty awesome tonight. Hope Gilmore isn't out too long, he's ferocious out there.

I know this sounds like a six year old broken record, or saying a car runs great without an engine, but boy I feel like we have a really talented team. We just need good play from our Quarterback, which even a healthy Buck Pierce can't provide.

  3. Special teamer (at most) right now .. if he's in our lineup with any regularity .. we're in trouble.

I'm rooting for the kid and it looks good that he's making a push but there's no way he cracks the 42 (or 46 for that matter).

It'll be great if he makes the Taxi Squad. I spent a lot of time watching him last game, and i'll say this much - he got open quite a bit.

  4. The East honestly looks terrible to me this year. Hamilton/Winnipeg and Montreal get wins based off of the fact they play each other abunch and someone has to win those games.

    East Standings

    Toronto: 10-8

    Montreal: 9-9
    Hamilton: 7-11

    Winnipeg: 6-12

    West Standings

    BC: 13-5

    Calgary: 11-7

    Saskatchewan: 9-9

    Edmonton: 7-11

    Grey Cup Teams and Winner

    BC 35 Toronto 24

Most Outstanding Player: Travis Lulay over Ricky Ray
Most Outstanding Canadian: Henoc Muamba over Andrew Haaris(homer pick)
Most Outstanding Defensive Player: Adam Bighill over Henoc Muamba
Most Outstanding Special Teams Player: Chad Owens over Rene Paredes
Most Outstanding Rookie: Honestly no clue, all of the big contributors from the Canadian draft aren't in Camp, and picking imports is a crapshoot when we can't even see the pre season games.
Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman: Jovan Olafioye over Josh Bourke

  5. I disagree with your opinion that the BC conference is stronger, but without an interlocking schedule, it is really tough to compare depth after the top. No question that Saskatoon has been dominant, and the club that everyone wants to compare to. Since 1947 (since play resumed after WW2), Saskatoon has 16 championships, Regina 15, Edmonton 8, Hamilton 5, Ottawa 4, nanaimo, Winnipeg, and Windsor have 3 each. Over 6 decades, the PFC teams have won over two-thirds of the time. Calgary finished ahead of Saskatoon in the regular season last year, so I would submit that the talent level in the PFC is not centred on one team.

I expect the Rifles under Karhut will do very well, especially with Ryan Marsh back at QB.

No question that players leaving is a concern, as the lure of living away from home is a draw for some players, and BC is the biggest lure in the country that way.

He went back to the Rifles? Seems like it was kind of a waste going to the Bisons.
